She died off screen, but this episode was all about Maarva, her words to her son, her words to the people of ferrix and how they need to keep moving forward. Powerful stuff.
That one act of Cassian to put all his remaining loved ones on a ship to fly away while he stays shows his growth from selfish to selfless. I love how this show does not tell us but shows us is brilliant writing. 👏🙌👍
Only one word can be used to describe this show, MASTERPIECE! I can’t remember the last time a show made me hold my breath from anticipation this many times throughout a season. And I’m completely with Cassian, if my mother gave that speech with that much heart at her funeral I would fight the Empire to my dying breath! If this show isn’t nominated in damn near every category at the next Emmy’s of BAFTA’s then no one deserves to be nominated.
When I saw the argument between Mon Mothma and Perrin about the gambling, the limo driver over hearing it and the the ISB scene; my one thought was ‘that’s f--d up’ in a devious way. When she told Vel in a prior episode she found a solution…. she marries off her daughter… to a gangster and the implicates her husband in a gambling problem. Cherry on top is Mon Mothma knew full well that driver was spying on her and information would get to the empire. She’s going to have the empire thinking Perrin was responsible for the missing 400,000 and married off their daughter to cover that up. Genius move
This was a bit of a masterpiece. Everything was realistic. Syril "saving" Dedra, Cassian catching on to what was going on and rescuing Bix. The last words of a past President of the daughters of Ferix spurring on the general populace to rebel. Cinta killing the ISB spy as soon as he suspected openly. Vel only going to Ferrix to make sure Cinta was ok and to help exfil her (She couldn't care less about killing Cassian) Bix coming a little out of her damaged mind after seeing Cassian rescue her and B2 and help them escape she starts to have hope again. Lastly Luthen's small smile when he realizes Cassian is now ALL IN.
Some people might complain about the lack of action, but this show has always ben grounded and organic. This episode felt so real. Maarva's speech wasn't bombastic, she felt like a normal person who happened to get an audience. The fight also felt real, how a random mob would act and a oppressor not being mentally prepared for the fighting and especially the bomb.
I thought we'd seen the end of Maarva after she died offscreen. So glad we got to see Fiona Shaw give one hell of a monologue in a show already ripe with incredible writing
I like the episode because it is incredibly simple in its approach and resolution. Andor avoids the trap everyone expected him to walk into, Luthen and Imperial alike, by not walking in. It does something different, and outmaneuver everyone, even Luthen. Finally Andor is finally a member of the rebellion and now he will learn from Luthen and become even more dangerous and capable. On the other hand, the text message is an echo of what Andor said to Kino but with other words "oppression is the mask of fear" "What do you call killing 200 people to keep a secret? I call it fear" Even before hearing the manifesto they already thought the same. The issue is that oppression requires more and more effort, but it generates more and more discontent, until the system breaks down, inevitably due to the pressure. The empire creates its own enemies over and over again, a vicious circle that they themselves create and are unable to prevent. Cinta could be a problem in the future, she was more interested in killing an imperial than in the mission, in fact she is totally absent from the mission and acting alone all the time. That doesn't bode well for the future, but maybe I was wrong.
I still don’t think Syril’s puppy dog obsession is sexual. It is about a belittled, marginalized, and ignored person finally finding a like-minded individual in a position of authority.
I agree. I think Syril is in awe of her authority and admires her fortitude towards (perceived) order and the Empire, and that's why he's attracted to her.
Love the comparison of Dedra here with Syril back on episode 3. It's like he's the veteran in this situation. It makes total sense given the context how they're behaving here -- he's obsessed, she's in complete shock and terror. It will be really interesting how Dedra evolves from here.
Brasso is a fuckin' BEAST. Head-butting fully-armored Stormtroopers and giving exactly zero shits about it. If he joins the rebels, he's gonna merc some imps, hard.
Notice how the empire had grenades at the ready. They weren't planning on peaceful suppression if something happened. They were ready to kill. Serves them right
The more we learn about Andor and how he is a great friend, addition to the rebellion makes me sad since we know he dies in Rogue One! 😥 He a good character in the Star Wars universe and to know he dies makes this show even harder to watch now with his performance in the finale! 😮 ❤
Omg ... this series ...so good!! And since when do droids cause tears and feels for their well being! Oh and after credit reveal 😳 omg so gives a hint to the time frame and what they were building! 🤔 hmm with Rogue One it kinda feels like karma maybe?
@@TheMovieCouple agreed! We know how his story ends and now we get to see what things he isn't proud of and things he did in the name of rebellion. I will be there watching 😁❤
Andor is honestly one of the best pieces of Star Wars media we've gotten in a long, long time. The drama, the politics, the sacrifices, everything culminating to lighting that first spark of the Rebellion. I don't want to wait for Season 2... XD
amazing show. i always cry when it comes to B2😢. you guys have become my fav reaction channel here. only discovered you through watching Andor but have watched alot of your other vids now . the post credit scene was cool .much love from canada🇨🇦
So much about this show that I love. Everyone's gonna talk Ferrix so can I just point out, Mon totally gaslit her husband with the gambling story to throw the ISB off their scent. They'll think the marriage and the withdrawals is to cover gambling debts, which is great dirt but a slap on the wrist compared to funding a rebellion.
That was genius on Mon's part...this really shows where her mindset is at this point in time compared to when she finally steps out from fighting in the shadows as she and the crew that's with her going to Dantooine get intercepted and rescued by the Ghost crew with the Empire pursuing them in the Season 3 episode of Star Wars Rebels "Secret Cargo," where after they escape from the Empire, she transmits a message and makes an impassioned speech to all the rebel cells urging them to officially form up into the Rebel Alliance to fight the Empire.
5:00 Nice catch! In a spy thriller show it's amazing how many people didn't catch the spy-craft Mon is having to employ. Great reaction! Also, a couple wow moments, The intro music has been different each episode because it has been slowly evolving and building up to be the music of Maarva's funeral/rebellion march song. Also, the intro logo since Episode 1 has been similar to the Rebel Alliance insignia but not quite. Now the post credits scene explains why. The entire reason both Rogue One and Andor exists is because of this thing, and the writers wanted to remind you of how much Andor did to impact saving the entire galaxy.
Great reaction! I always enjoy your videos. Random question - where did you get that “May the force be with you” sweatshirt? I love the simplicity of it!
YES !!! Thank you guys for picking up on the fact that Mon Mothma was obviously setting up her husbands gambling as a diversion for where the missing money from her accounts was going. I have watched several other reactors review of this episode, and they all seemed oblivious that Mon knew she was being listened to and intentionally setting up this scheme.
I wished, personally, to have the Mon arc be us seeing her working with Luthien and struggling with the Senate and her marriage and daughter. Crumbling under the strain of what she is doing and living vicariously through her cousin's Rebel escapades. No one to talk to in her family because they would never understand her leanings. THEN we see, Perrin is secretly working with Kreegyr, manipulating his own friends in high places to do their shipping and gambling activities in certain places to draw attention away from or assist to cover up Kreegyr's Rebel smuggling. He gambles and pretends to lose to launder money and fund the Real cause, he burns his dignity to ignore a uprising that he may never admit to be part of.And he NEEDS to keep this from his rule-abiding wife cos she would never understand...and is stuck acting as a jerk to her to not have her not suspect a thing. THEN we see Leida making friends with Senator Bail Organa's daughter, hearing of Leia's stories about Jedi escape routes in the Outer Rim, underwater prisons with inquisitors and how she got her holster. She is slowly radicalised by Leia (and Lola) and starts to help Leia build her support network for the Rebellion. Leida tries to spy on her parents for Leia but never gets anything on either one of them. So she tries her best to be wedded out according to traditional Chandillan customs so she can have more freedom and a wider circle to spread the Cause. Of course, her parents would never understand....
Thanks for another great season ~~ I gotta Cyrill twist for ya --->>> Let's say Denise Gough's character feels indebted to him (professionally & physically), gives in, and then becomes the target in a very toxic 'relationship' with Cyrill where he becomes the dominant partner and she is pummeled into doing whatever he wants?? Sure, it seems like a creepy story, but all the ingredients are there to make it fascinating .. ..
The Empire fell due to its overconfidence. After everything that happened in this season, no one from the upper ranks of the Empire declared martial law against the planets where the rebellions started
All I can say is...OMG. This is the best Star Wars project ever. And I predict season 2 will give a lot of Rogue One vibes with cameos from Kennic, Jyn and Galen Erso. Chirrut Imwe , Baze Malbus. And of course K2S0.
Loved this episode and Wendy's "May The Force Be With You" top. Also, her quote,"Why do I have a bad feeling about this?",is the mantra of every Star Wars project. I'm surprised that no one has counted all the times it's been said and who said it. Thanks for Rogue Wednesday's and we'll see this next year. P.S. That last post credits scene was epic!
I love the fact that the finale kept true to itself and didn't tie up all the loose ends. Season two, according to Tony Gilroy the showrunner, won't be done filming until August of next year! So, at the very earliest we probably won't be seeing it until the very end of the year or the beginning of 2024. The good news is that we'll have The Mandalorian season 3 to keep us going starting February 22, 2023.
The ANDOR finale is masterful. Tremendously powerful. It’s one of the most rousing pieces of #StarWars I’ve ever experienced, & one of the most beautiful season finales I’ve ever seen. There are four scenes that will 100% be ALL be all-time favorites for me.
The only reactors that caught that little piece of the Harry Potter theme... could be a coincidence. The doctor in the prison also had a small part in HP: Harry's dad
“I have a bad feeling about this…” cmon Wendy, we already know you’re a fan but repetition in the SW content seems to be working! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the reaction Wendy and Dustin 👍
Bittersweet since the kid who threw the bomb was avenging his dad, yet he caused the Imperials to start shooting, killed innocents in the blast, and got people he knew shot and killed while he gets to survive with not a scratch lol.
Wow , Andor has changed SW so completely. Every SW IP will now be compared to this outstanding, amazing, emotional series. Including any SW movie from here moving forward. Everyone involved should be rightly proud.
Just finished the finale for Andor! What a show, that finale had me with all the feels! Maarva’s speech/ funeral was so sad, I good feel the pain the people of Ferrix were experiencing! The moment between Bee and Andor was so emotional too! I agree Luthen’s amazing performance with his ship in episode 11 was so exciting to watch! That end credit scene with the Death Star was a surprising twist! Overall, at times the show was boring but, the story was interesting! Look forward to watching S2! 😊
You probably won't see this because it is 6 months after the fact (I just got into Andor a couple of weeks ago), but there WILL be Andor Season 2 and from what I read in a recent article, Andy Serkis will return to reprise his role as Kino Loy. How about that, friends and neighbors!
The Syril thing is suppose to be icky. He isn't in love, he's obsessed. Also, Deedra was never disgusted by him, she hated how he threw her through an emotional loop with his utter devotion to her. She's never had that, someone who worships her, only superiors people who look down at her, or inferiors who question her judgment. He isn't a source of disgust, he's a source of unfamiliar temptation.
Hi! I got the hoodie in a SDCC Loot Crate back in 2017 (I think?). I'm not sure where they sell it but you can always check selling sites like Mercari, Poshmark, or Depop
In 1977 I wanted to be Luke Skywalker and blow up the Death Star. In 2022 I want to be the guy in the bell tower who hits hits the metal slab with his hammers and kicks stormtroopers in the chest.
I assumed it was an attempt to disguise themselves a bit more. They both started off with hats that matched their jackets, switching hats makes them both look a bit less like they're wearing a uniform and a bit more like a couple of civilians with mismatched clothing.
My favorite quote I've heard anyone say about this series was something along the lines of "I will be disappointed if my funeral does not also become an occasion for antifascist rebellion."
i really love everthing about this show but then I saw a video by star wars theory and since he has 3.5 million followers now I don't like this show because of screws and bricks
I’m not like an imperial sympathizer but it’s a bit ridiculous when they got upset when the imperial officer tried to stop Maarva’s recording “it’s a funeral!”... no it’s not! Not anymore she is calling for open rebellion against the empire. The Imperials had every right to stop that message. I loved the episode and everything but in universe the Imperials aren’t being heavy handed or inappropriate... the people of Ferrix clearly intended that to be more than just a funeral
I can see where this is coming but, oh man. Sounding too much like a fascist there buddy, they clearly have no right to stop anything or interrupt anything. That's why any civilized country has laws that protect freedom of speech. With that being said: Fvck the empire.
“I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong” that hit me so hard especially since my mom recently expressed this to me
This whole episode wrecked me.😭
Man. My ma told me something similar before she passed. This show hit me harder than i thought it would. Superb acting. Can't wait for season 2
She died off screen, but this episode was all about Maarva, her words to her son, her words to the people of ferrix and how they need to keep moving forward. Powerful stuff.
This series every speech leap frogs the last. So good.
she also got to brain an imperial even in death.
Strike her down, and she will become powerful than you could ever imagine!
That one act of Cassian to put all his remaining loved ones on a ship to fly away while he stays shows his growth from selfish to selfless. I love how this show does not tell us but shows us is brilliant writing. 👏🙌👍

That moment when the funeral march song changes gave me full body chills, everything about this show is 10/10
When you suddenly realize that the theme song for the show is the Ferix funeral dirge.
The Andor theme has been the score in every episode. Different orchestrations that set the tone....another detail thats brilliant
It went from funeral dirge to call-to-arms...
Luthan smiling - i see it as the only time he's let down his guard
Yeah that looked like a genuine smile, a relief that gladdens his heart more than anything in recent years. That's how it came off to me.
Exactly! Every time we have seen him truly smile this season has been because he was genuinely happy.

What an upgrade for Fiona Shaw, to go from being known all these years as Harry Potter's mean old aunt, to this massively inspiring figure!

Syril is on some Norman Bates shit.
I hope so, Dedra is such an interesting villain and I hope they don’t use her just to further Syril’s story

And he helped Maarva get one last hit at the empire, by using her brick as a weapon.
Maarva speech was another in a long line of great monologues on this show. The writing on this show has ruined me for other shows 😢

I didn't understand why they switched their hats. Does anyone know why?
Knowing Syril is a sticker for fashion his buddy felt that hat would look better on him....😊😊😊
@@pauldavis7362 awww, blinded imperial scum but they are besties😂
I assumed it was an attempt to disguise themselves a bit more. They both started off with hats that matched their jackets, switching hats makes them both look a bit less like they're wearing a uniform and a bit more like a couple of civilians with mismatched clothing.
Some people has commented they did this to recognize each other easily in the multitude. Easier to spot your own hat.
OUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!! splendid !
You guys going to rewatch binge it next?
Will their be new reaction videos to Stranger Things 4 coming out soon? :o
My favorite quote I've heard anyone say about this series was something along the lines of "I will be disappointed if my funeral does not also become an occasion for antifascist rebellion."
Season 2 ferrix gon get blasted by the deathstar
Dreamworks Dinotrux please?
Wow... You two literally missed like 70% of what happened in this episode.. LITERALLY :S
Can I share your video as a reaction video on my channel? ☺
😇
Ed Sheeran??
i really love everthing about this show but then I saw a video by star wars theory and since he has 3.5 million followers now I don't like this show because of screws and bricks
They shouldn’t even be supervising a funeral with armed men and explosives in the first place lmao. What even is this comment
I can see where this is coming but, oh man. Sounding too much like a fascist there buddy, they clearly have no right to stop anything or interrupt anything.
That's why any civilized country has laws that protect freedom of speech.
With that being said: Fvck the empire.
@@TheLonelyGoomba That's a very good point 🤔😓.
*yawn*
Oh, sorry… I fell asleep in episode 1 and just woke up now.
