    I mounted regular M4 grease nipples on my HGH15. Hiwin also mounts m3 mini-grease nipples on their mgn15 carriages, although they're very hard to find. Another option is use a syringe and apply it into the small hole in the dust cover (where'd you'd normally want to fit a grease fitting on those)

    I'm trying this with the bearings and rails from the Bulk Man 3D Queenbee kit - after washing, the bearings are as sticky as your ones are before washing. I guess this means a bit more work for the motors but not a showstopper.

    Great video. Thank you.
    The bearings fir my Queen Bee Pro came without the grease nipples and without a screw where the nipples go. Do you know where I can get the nipples?

    What kind of grease gun and coupler do you use? And type of grease?

    Is there any reason this cannot be done using 99% IPA in an ultrasonic for 30min? I know most people don't have an ultrasonic but I do as I found it very useful for resin 3D prints. Should only need to loosen the ends and not remove them as well.

      Yeah that would work just the same might need to move the balls a bit to clear inside still

    Grate video, it helped a lot. How often should you apply grease if a CNC router is running about 2 hours a day?

    Are those Hiwin or Chinesium linear rails?

    • @IllDoItMyself
      @IllDoItMyself  3 роки тому

      Not hiwin no but I have been happy with the quality regardless.

      @@IllDoItMyself My real question with the Chinesium rails is longevity... They could start great and just go to crap in short order - i don't see a lot of projects with enough years on them for people to say "this is the life I got out of them"

      @@IceTurf lifespan of bearings depends not only on it's build quality but also on how they are installed, used and maintained.
      cheap chinese products are most likely used by people who have zero experience in linear bearings. so this bearings are often installed wrong and/or have their size not compatible with the load (and used without any dust protection of course. even in this video rails are opened and have no dust caps of bolts).
      and on the other hand we have "everlasting" Hiwin/Bosch/THK/NSK/INA/IKO rails which usually used on proper machinery. installed on precision milled surface, supplied with automatic lubrication and covered from any dust.

      i always thought that Hiwin was Chinese.

    • @IceTurf
      @IceTurf 2 роки тому

      @@MrTWOproductions HiWin are Taiwan, a quality brand. Many rails out of China can pretend to be HiWin, but aren't. Some Chinese rails could be of good quality, but it is hard to know.
