It is a battle to get through the first 10-12 months. What is that next chord I know the first chord is C so therefore the next chord must be one of the other 6 in the scale and then if my band, if I were in one, then I can call out its C then Am or its 1st and then the 6th chord! blah blah blah!

works the exact same way no matter what the key is since the intervallic relationship does not change. As far as minor keys/scales, the same rules apply except that the six will now be the tonal center.👍

I’m about halfway there but that’s just the start cause once you know all the notes then the puzzle that you been just playing with , the pieces start to make sense.

Yes, feels very controversial, but in fact, in western music, 99% of the music is based around the major scale, and it’s derivatives, which are the modes, which, of course include alien/natural minor. It’s probably more like 99.9% but then that would be very controversial.😂
In Nashville, you call that the six minor. Classical theory will tell you that it’s a minor one. I’ve learned it both ways but you have to learn two sets of chords to do it the classical way. There are reasons for both. With classical music it makes sense, but with pop and country music, the Nashville way makes sense.
So for minor you got down three so C Maj is A Minor , minor to Major go up 3 notes Also if you understand this Formula Minor just starts on the on the 6 So minor is 6712345 But they call it 1 2 4567 same formula that’s why they just call minor songs Major n just use the Normal Nashville formula n it’s the same thang

Loved the lesson but frankly I'm finding the timer very distracting. Maybe either make it a bit transparent to get rid of it (we know the video is 10 minutes long anyways). Great lesson though!
This did not help, it seemed like the complicated explanatation instead of the easier one. Surely theres a quicker ,clearer,easier way of explaining this?

So I was quickly going thru YT vids hoping there was one out there to make it cleqr,consise and straight to it for understanding! While you do have plenty other helpful videos , this was NOT one of them.

That system is much older than the city of Nashville.
