We are going to fly to az this winter, hopefully, to check out the area and the apartments we have liked so far. However, how would we go about renting that apartment, 5-6 months later? Should we fly back down there, stay at a hotel for a week while we are actually signing for the appt, then fly back to pa get our stuff and drive back to az, pls give me tips on the best way to go about it, we do have over a year to figure it all out, but i like to have everything in order first!
People always think that the grass is greener on the other side , but it's not so just save time , money , and effort , please don't move anywhere and you'll be happy in the long run !

Another thing to consider that I don't think you mentioned in this video is to consider the cost of gas. It could end up becoming hundreds of dollars just for gas if you're driving from coast to coast.

Hi Im a Southern California native moving to New Orleans next year. My boyfriend has family there and we took a week trip. I have been doing tons of research. We have a cat and dog so it looks like we will have to sell everything but essentials. Even my car so we can take a plane with our pets. We also want to buy a house prior to moving and order a pod to deliver our stuff.
I just moved from Ohio to California. I have been here for 4 months and hate it. I'm moving back to Ohio by the beginning of the new year. BTW, I grew up in California and used to love it but, after traveling and coming back, I can't live here anymore.

@Jerry Malufau it is run down in most spots. There's a couple nice areas around my town. Utah is really nice! I lived in St. George and visited up north a few times. Utah is up there on my top favorite states.

For sure! Do what works for you. I’m sorry if you felt like I was putting people down who do that. It’s just not our personalities to want to stay with people. We’re very independent and it would not be enjoyable for us, so we make it work 🤷🏻♀️

Im thinking of moving out of California. Cant stand this state. Taxing everything police writing tickets for everything!! I dont mind moving to a different state different cultures. Heck my parents(mexicans) moved thousands of miles from their home and lost more and gained everything little by little. If they can do it so can i 👍🏻

We are moving from Germany to Oklahoma this summer... Movers round one come in two weeks cause it takes so long to get stuff there. In this crazy process right there w ya girl! I think my longest drive to move was from WA to OH... Felt like forever but prob cause I had to drive through Montana, the state that never ends... Lol.

To the comment below....people who live in SoCal are a certain TYPE of people...when they move away from SoCal...many find that it's not that great somewhere else and want to go back. But due to high cost of returning it's not possible. In my care I left to escape an angry abussive husband, now an EX...I had to put a long distance between us so I didn't get talked into returning to him...its been 5 yrs and I new I'd miss the lifestyle of SoCal and I've been depressed ever since. But now single and living on SSDI of $1,100 month and a car payment it's just a distant dream and being on the East Coast...Northern VA, I hate the cold, the very unfriendly People and the lack of anything fun to do, not to mention the high cost and lack of fresh produce...that's why I am addressing the post below....West coast, especially SoCal people have it made in the shade or should I say SUN. SoCal or bust for me...You are a smart Couple moving from NY to SoCal....I wish you the best life there which will happen AUTOMATICALLY! Diane

More leaving our area of Silicon Valley than those coming in. Last summer over 20k families left this area. No houses below $800,000, most houses sell way above asking, bidding wars, close in a week. Mobile homes, never updated since 70s going for $200k, and selling within two weeks.

I'm planning on driving out and only bringing what fits in an SUV (maybe a small trailer) so I'm currently in the process of getting rid of almost everything that's not essential! So, this is the first video of yours that I watched because my boyfriend and I just started to discuss the idea of moving to a new state, lots of talking about California or Washington and we currently live in Savannah, GA. It's an awesome city but there are no opportunities for us here being that we've been graduated from college for a year now and trying to get careers started, and this is a terrible city for jobs apparently. Anyways, how did you guys decide on a city? We have ideas, but it's so overwhelming when you could literally choose any city you want. We want to move in 1 year and it's already stressing me out.
