  • Lyndsay was inspired by her dad’s work ethic and entrepreneurship to get started in the skilled trades. She wanted a career doing something unconventional, but still well-paying. Watch and learn what it means to work in a Red Seal trade and the benefits of doing so.
Lyndsay’s advice for young people looking to find career satisfaction in the trades is to try a little bit of everything, find what you like, and go with it!
Job Talks OYAP is a media initiative in partnership with the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship program (OYAP), the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board (SMCDSB).

K, this is fun, but more important, its very very important for your health and safety.
Next time you put a group of small details on the surface grinder, take a quick moment and BLOCK THEM IN! the small amount of surface area on these little pieces do not have the hang on power as the larger ones, so to keep them from moving or leaving the magnet, block em in! please.

Oh, boy, er, girl... Your die hooks are not seated into your detail (pad), that one looks like it's only in 3 or 4 threads. So, that would be the one that fails if your load got hung up on a missed screw or bound on a wear plate. Then it would go flying up in the air and may come down on your unprotected noggin! eh?

"an eye for detail"? hmmm, she keeps wearing her safety glasses on her head and not over her eyes, she will not have an eye for detail, or anything else... But, yeah, she's canadian, if I was her Journyman, she'd be sweeping the floor for a week. Oh, and no hard hat when operating the crane? did I see that?
