i not saying Ali or anyone is wrong but, the secret sauce is not what they use... Its always how they use it, im telling yall now that Ali or even Dr Dre could give out all his secret sauce but there ain gon be another Dr Dre, he is who he is.. because a poor carpenter blames his tools. Just think how Michel Jackson had recorded his albums in the 80s who mix is still undefeated, they didnt have all the cool shit we have that we have today, those didnt even meet the quality of todays standards. But those mixes sounds like they are something outta the 80s, that shit sounds like something outta the future..
@@sami_got_vibes fax I agree my fav album of all time is thriller because the mixing in that song is so smooth and sexy and out of this world that it’s sounds better then what modern singers put out today even with the better equipment we have now
You can tell he lieing about what he uses because he starts to stutter 🤣 he doesn't want to let the sauce out but IMO it really doesn't matter because if you dont know what your doing with the tools doesn't make a difference at all.
When you're a self taught engineer, you just learn new shit every day! It's like they're speaking another language but it feels good whenever you learn a new piece to the puzzle.
Everytime Ali or Jaycen is on this show it just feels right. It's like attending to a family reunion that was way past due. Love it! Thank you for doing these videos guys 👍👍👍
Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. Herb, Dave, Pensado's Place I like this new style of snappy editing and rich-information per second, It's really flattering to the format of the show. Great episode! I'm feeling interested now.
Also watch the episodes with Salaam Remi, Noah 40 and Louis Bell - three of the best communicators of the essence of their craft. Mike Dean, one of the best who ever did it, on the other hand, isn't the most talkative person in the world. It took a lot to get a little out of him.
Most people don't understand the subtle flex of bringing up that you use series K SSL vs. a series G SSL....lmfao two greats of all time it's funny as hell to see this banter. I absolutely love Dave picking his brain and Ali definitely knows what hes doing can't tell Dave too much he will know everything instantly😂😂 it's like Jordan interacting with LeBron
I love the way Dave changed his tone when he found out that Ali was also using the Reftones 🤣🤣he was about to lay into Auratones in mono - it’s the most supreme mix method in my trials also
Great Interview Guys!!! Could explain the MixedByAli method that applies when mixing 808 with Distressor??? It sounds interesting and new. Cheers From Venezuela.
The SPL he’s talking about is the SPL Mixdream, Mike Dean was talking about it in his stream and talking about the stereo width. 100% he’s talking abt that.
When pushing the line input on the desk you drive the sound more into the circuit creating distortion which sounds dope. Helps add punch to the drums. You can get a similar vibe on the CLA SSL Mixhub plugin. Push the drums or kick n snare via the line input and your hear it. Have fun...
Big question, who is the smartest singer you ever worked with sonically, who knew thier instrument the best(?voice, what it needed) asking all the engineers
It's all good man, I was just letting you know! I don't know a single dude out here working who didn't have cracked waves plugins at one point, including myself haha
can someone drop some knowledge for me. I'm tryna understand what they were talking about with "E's" "G's" "Ks"? What are they referring too. just tyrna learn that language to educate myself about this craft. any help would be dope. ty.
he sends the reverb signal to his analog SSL g-4000 compressor then sends that signal back to the mix. You can achieve a similar effect for cheaper with a waves g compressor, ableton glue compressor, or a hardware stam audio SA-4000
i already did schooling in music production and audio engineering and have mix many songs, my question was since he said he is taking in mixers to work with him, how to apply?
They're trying to get all of the secrets😂😂😂 Ali playing like he doesn't know all of the equipment and reverbs he used😂😂😂✊
i not saying Ali or anyone is wrong but, the secret sauce is not what they use... And this is coming from a engineering myself
@@sami_got_vibes I get all of that...I'm merely laughing at how coy he is, when they ask for specifics
You can tell he lieing about what he uses because he starts to stutter 🤣 he doesn't want to let the sauce out but IMO it really doesn't matter because if you dont know what your doing with the tools doesn't make a difference at all.

keep doing your thing my g

I wish more engineers take their job as serious as Ali does
Fr man, mixing and mastering is one of THE most important parts of creating ANY music and Ali approaches it with such drive and compassion.

"I don´t wanna work harder than Sombody else on their own Craft"
MixedByAli
I been waiting for Ali to come back
Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. Herb, Dave, Pensado's Place I like this new style of snappy editing and rich-information per second, It's really flattering to the format of the show. Great episode! I'm feeling interested now.

Ali's voice is incredible 🔥💯👍
Damn. Watching this after the Alex tumay and Mike dean episodes - Ali’s energy & passion is unmatched
Also watch the episodes with Salaam Remi, Noah 40 and Louis Bell - three of the best communicators of the essence of their craft. Mike Dean, one of the best who ever did it, on the other hand, isn't the most talkative person in the world. It took a lot to get a little out of him.

I have been coming back to Ali interviews for year truly a MASTER!
This just became my favorite channel. Thank you for giving the producers the shine they deserve 🙏🏽
When you teach yourself the game, you really learn to value your ears. You learn to naturally trust what you hear over what you tweak.

I love the way Dave changed his tone when he found out that Ali was also using the Reftones 🤣🤣he was about to lay into Auratones in mono - it’s the most supreme mix method in my trials also
If it works it works don't stop doing it if it works for you 🤘🏾😎

27:05 can someone explain the process, which is dave talking about and if this just works on the board
Im trying to figure out the same smh 🤦♀️
When pushing the line input on the desk you drive the sound more into the circuit creating distortion which sounds dope. Helps add punch to the drums. You can get a similar vibe on the CLA SSL Mixhub plugin. Push the drums or kick n snare via the line input and your hear it. Have fun...
he was probably talking about the SPL Vitalizer for spread
Big question, who is the smartest singer you ever worked with sonically, who knew thier instrument the best(?voice, what it needed) asking all the engineers
The shrinkage is real
Long time fan the of show! Please invite Serban Gehnea to the show pleeease!!

Great!
26:18, sorry English is not my native language, what does he say at that timestamp? SSL World Compression?
board compression
At this level I wonder sometimes - the ssl e & g have no recall right? Working on multiple projects isn’t this a problem?
After some time it became very musical... ALL I UNDErSTAND.... G... O YEAH..... E.... NO... 100......K GK.... GJK... OK

can someone drop some knowledge for me. I'm tryna understand what they were talking about with "E's" "G's" "Ks"? What are they referring too. just tyrna learn that language to educate myself about this craft. any help would be dope. ty.
They’re talking about the different series of ssl mixing consoles E is the oldest g is later and the k is the latest out of the three
Thank you 🙏🏾
rjbiz no worries 👍
18:18 revs
alllllliiiiiii!!!!!!!
💘
I'm still waiting on the conversation about his batter's box "Board Compression" answer for Reverb. Can someone explain???
he sends the reverb signal to his analog SSL g-4000 compressor then sends that signal back to the mix. You can achieve a similar effect for cheaper with a waves g compressor, ableton glue compressor, or a hardware stam audio SA-4000
Approach every.mix based on the song. Polka or trap...
why they start off like its finna be a serious debate
how to apply to be a mixer? only seeing if you are an artist
Ladraz engineer school
i already did schooling in music production and audio engineering and have mix many songs, my question was since he said he is taking in mixers to work with him, how to apply?
Check the description for the link
