I remember seeing the news reports about Zimbabwe in 2008 and 2009. Their economy had crashed and the government was printing hyperinflation money with trillion dollar banknotes. I'm glad that Zimbabwe is greatly improved today.

The economic sabotage is done deliberately by Western powers who want to keep Zim ungovernable so a puppet Opposition gets into power to allow the West to pillage precious minerals like Diamonds,Platinum,Chrome-ore,Lithium,Uranium ,untapped oil and gas reserves. Its all about hegemony sadly.

Of course the prices are going to be expensive. 99% of what’s sold, is imported! Zimbabwe is the same as all other African countries in that regard. Live like a local and it will be reasonable

@@bissetn yes you are correct. However, totally out of context.
The comment was made that shops in that Centre, were expensive. I explained why. The majority of goods sold in those shops (Shoes, Dresses, Cosmetics, Picture Frames, Books, etc). Are imported.
In addition, they are probably paying dear, for the rents!

USA Department of State Travel advisory:
Exercise increased caution in Zimbabwe due to crime and official harassment of U.S. citizens.
Country Summary: Opportunistic crime, such as pickpocketing, theft, and smashing of car windows with intent to steal, is common. Violent crime, such as assault, carjacking, and home invasion, also occurs. Criminals often target foreigners and residents suspected of having large sums of cash.
