Well, Jamaicans are honorary Zimbabweans anyway because Bob Marley's messages through his music helped us win the war of liberation from white supremacist colonialism. That's why we invited him on our Independence day to see the lowering of the British flag and the hoisting of the new Zimbabwean flag. He gifted us a special song which was performed for the first time on that day in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 🇯🇲
Not only Bob but some key politicians, too. We Jamaicans will never forget the late prime minister, Michael Manley and his teams who tirelessly advocated for the freedom of African nations.
@@IBumpg yes many Jamaican heroes fought for African freedom but but but Bob Marley is on a personal with Zimbabwe. You prolly wouldn't understand unless you are Zimbabwean or spend time in Zimbabwe.
@FutureForward01 True. For Zimbabweans, Bob Marley is important and special to them, their memory of the war of liberation, their national independence from the British, their postcolonial national identity, etc. Apart from Bob Marley, a number of Jamaican Rastafarian families, musicians and producers moved and settled in Zimbabwe soon after independence (in the early 80s). They mentored a new generation of young Zimbabwean musicians and played a key role in developing what is now called Zim Dancehall, widely popular among Zimbabwean youths. 🇿🇼 🇯🇲

I am a Jamaican living in the US. Contemplating whether to retire in Jamaica or some country in Africa. (Ghana, The Gambia, etc). Recently, saw your video about Jamaican celebrating independence in Zimbabwe. I really liked that video. In this video, Zimbabwean Marries Jamaican, I saw that Zimbabwe is very modern and developed. This is a thorn in my side at this time. In the past when I was much younger and unaware, I used to patronize their establishments, however, in recent years I have become enlightened and I would not be supporting their establishments anywhere I go around the world.
Yes, they are in every country even countries us black people think is not good enough, Asians establish themselves in those same countries and make money there while we opt to leave those countries. It really is also a thorn in our side, but we eat the food because we like it 😅😅) I think the problem is not the Asians, but us the people (especially black) who aren’t proud enough of our countries and aren’t patriotic enough to set higher standards for respect when these other races come to do business with us.

Nice. Looking forward to learning about your lives in Zim. Btw, my wife is also Jamaican (I'm a white American). 20+ years + two sons.
Oh lovely! Another intercultural couple ❤️ And together for 20+ years, congratulations! And thanks for watching and sharing who you are with us.
Sure you could write a book on becoming one despite the hurdles associated with being from different cultures! You’re also an interracial couple, so even more to overcome (socially) there…but at 20+ years, you’re winning! Hats off to you.

I will never know you are Jamaican. You have a Southern African accent, I think your Zimbabwean husband influenced your accent so much so that yours began to change.
True 😊 Thanks for watching! Do continue to support!
..and yet there are people who say the Jamaican accent sounds very Irish. Go figure!😊
