phew *wipes sweat off forehead* I got my letter today, my status is "Visit temporarily on hold" and they are giving me 10 days to get correctly licensed. That's nice of them. The 30th seems to be circled in red and later down it says they are giving me until 30th December 2022 before they send around the goons! The fools can't count, it is 22/11/22 today, and the 30th December is a lot more than that away! Maybe I should call them and make an appointment, charge them £50 for every appointment they miss!
I had one of these the other day, i chuckled and threw it away. I found it funny as they worded it in a way that the 10 days they give you is something to be thankfull for!! lol
Nobody said anything about the license fee being commercially based or reasonable. It's an out of date concept that was valid 40 years ago but not in today's television programming world. It's a tax used to fund the BBC. It's not longer anything to do with whether or not you consume the programming output of the BBC. I don't see any point in complaining about it. You have to pay it. You can complain to your MP but that doesn't have any effect: it's a government level decision. And the government has decided they are not yet going to remove this tax. And there is nothing we can do about it. So stop moaning and comply. Why? Because if you don't comply then you get in to trouble.
@@deang5622 Why should I comply just because you say so? Anyone who does not watch the Beeeeb programming and pays the licence is allowing thieves to rob them every time they cough up. These thieves will have to be tackled. Where I chose to draw the line in the sand is up to me. I chose to draw the line upon leaving home at 18. I am now 65 and have never paid a TV licence and have no intention of doing so Fact: they will never be able to prove that I watch any live streaming programs from any channel. They can even sit in my living room for the next 50 years and they still won't be able to prove it. If they do not stop sending their letters every month then a court case for harassment is in the offing. All I want is for the first goon to arrive on my doorstep and I am taking them to court.
@@gregparman-sibley6277 I didn''t say you should comply just because I said so. You should comply to prevent yourself being prosecuted and fined. If you end up being fined, the total financial impact to you is greater because you will be made to pay the license fee which you should have paid plus the fine. There is no logic to your behaviour. You're objecting to paying the license fee, and the end result is you end up paying more. How does that make sense? How does that make sense to you? Please explain the rationale behind your thinking? Surely if you are in a difficult financial position, the worst outcome for you is to pay more than you need. So if you are in this position, then the logical and reasonable behaviour is to take action to prevent yourself being fined. Being fined is a choice, it is a choice you make. You can chose not to be fined by complying with the law.
@@deang5622 My behaviour is not unreasonable in the least. They are demanding via threatening letters that I pay for a licence that I do not need. They take me to court and try to prosecute me; the courts will chuck the case out and award damages to me. End of. If you constantly pester someone they can take you to court and have a court order against you. This is exactly what I intend to do to the BBC for harassing me with their threatening letters every month. All I am waiting for is one of their goons to turn up on my doorstep. Nobody and I mean nobody on earth can prove that I need a TV licence. As I said earlier they can come and sit in my living room for the next 50 years and they still will not be able to prove that I need a TV licence. So think outside the box. Who does not need a TV licence and why? When you have the answer to that then you will see why I am so p&%$ed off at all the threatening letters and bullying tactics. That is why I actually want them to take me to court. The egg will be on their faces. Then I will charge them £600 for every letter they send to my address. That could end up being a nice little earner every month Lol. There is no reason for me to constantly jump though their hoops every two years either. It's an imposition.

The Royal Mail love these letters and our postie always has a laugh when we meet him about the Scaremongering from CAPITA. The full investigation will be done by the school dinner lady.
I'm currently on the two-year group, having phoned them to cancel my licence, thanks to your channel Jon. It runs out in March 2023. I'm not going to renew and waste a phone call. I'm going to wait just so I can slam the door in their face.
I have had this version of the extortion letter. They are going to 'visit' me on the 30th of December ... I hope they are on triple time Haha Looking forward to saying no thank you and closing the door.
I have had the '10 days to get correctly licensed' letter. Numerous times. 😂 I don't use their service. So I am correctly licenced. (No licence). Which they have acknowledged by telling me the address is not licenced. Nuff said. 🤣🤣🤣 ...Twits.
I open them just to get a chuckle, got multiple of these, even bright red one's. I'm still waiting on Gordon from the Kilmarnock enforcement division to send his goons out.
We had one of these, filed it in the shredder with all the others; Our two rabbits find TVL letters as soft strong and absorbant as takeaway menus and local Conservative Party junkmail.
I told them I was invoking WOIRA and that any further letters would be classed as harrassment and would be referred to my legal advisers. Heard nothing since, over six months now, and was getting letters every month.
The thing u hate the most about tvl is they say there coming to visit so i look forward to that to be able to chase them off but they never ever show up
Is there no mechanism in law - say via some consumer’s advisory service - where this threatening behaviour can be challenged and the perpetrators called to account?
I'd also like to complain because I haven't needed a licence for more than ten years, I've received hundreds of letters and they haven't had the common decency to come to my house and give me the opportunity to close the door in their face and waste their precious commission earning time and petrol. I'm feeling somewhat neglected.
I would suggest that that envelope window and wording breaches GDPR. Since it implies you have committed some misdemeanour and has your address which directly identifies you. I can see lots of legal claims coming towards the BBC.
Ooh, i've just had my first '10 day window' letter! Normally these 'dear occupier' threatening bullshit letters go straight into the bin, but i fancied a laugh so i opened it. When will i get a visit??.....been threatened for years now, i feel left out. I can't wait to tell them to 'fuck right off' and slam the door.
I have yet to meet one of these goons. Had a good laugh at a letter that they sent me today. I cant wait for the day that I am In to actually be able to shut the door In their face. 😂
I get them every other week saying ,, we are opening an investigation to your address , an enforcement officer will be round anytime of the day etc ,, i dont even open them now i just rip them up and bin them
As the letters and the 'enforcement visits' are not aligned at all, I don't think they can always keep their promise of not sending anyone during the 10-days grace period. I would like to hear if anybody got a visit, despite the letter saying they wouldn't.
I have been getting those letters for years, and other letters asking if I will be in on a particular date .... I have not had a TV since we went digital, and I got sick of informing them. Another issue arose when i merged my house - which was previously flats and I merged it into one house. I contacted them and they supposedly amended their records BUT.... I still get these letters for 'flat 3' - which no longer exists. I have had one visit in the past from a nasty female enforcement officer and I was tempted to let her in to prove I do not have a TV BUT she tried to imply that if I had a laptop, computer or games machine then I also needed a licence?!?! I have a laptop and computer, but I still don't watch any TV, therefore I just told her that 'there is no implied right of access to this property' .... she got quite angry and asked if I wanted her to inform 'them' of this and so I told her that she could do whatever she wanted with the information. I feel that some people would be very intimidated by both the letters and the attitude of the person visiting and I am glad that I am not easily intimidated, especially when i am doing nothing wrong and I don't even have or watch TV.

phew *wipes sweat off forehead* I got my letter today, my status is "Visit temporarily on hold" and they are giving me 10 days to get correctly licensed.
Surely it breaches GDPR to have letters which show the content to someone other than the recipient.
Postmen/women/shims are required of confidentiality when delivering mail
I had one of these the other day, i chuckled and threw it away. I found it funny as they worded it in a way that the 10 days they give you is something to be thankfull for!! lol
The other disgrace about all this is that they charge you for watching any other live stream channels. HOW on earth can that be justifiable.
I am now 65 and have never paid a TV licence and have no intention of doing so
Fact: they will never be able to prove that I watch any live streaming programs from any channel.
I've had 2..😆😆😆😆😆😆 wow shaking in my shoes TV licence 😆😆😆😆
Best video so far. Thank you my friend
I cancelled mine in 2017 and had no callers no letters taking out an Internet only package with virgin might have done it 1 tb Internet is not cheap but I enjoy the choice of watching videos like yours keep them coming
From now on most homes in the UK now are saying, The TV LICENCE FEE is not needed as we no longer watch their rubbish. So the TV LICENCE is NOT ALLOWED in our homes.
Someone needs to take them to task when it comes to CAPITA sending out threatening Cat litter
There is a return address on the letter. Simply return it. Cross out your details, put RTS, post it.
This adds to their costs. Lol.
Hey i love the "incredulous chuckle" on reading a sentence that's so bad it's funny. It's as if they think we are all simpletons.
My wife got a letter today, it's really inconvenient, she fell off the perch 5 years ago! Good luck with that one goons!
I have had this version of the extortion letter.
They are going to 'visit' me on the 30th of December ... I hope they are on triple time Haha
Looking forward to saying no thank you and closing the door.
They’d probably get more money if they made it that you have to pay not to watch them.
Great advice thank you .
I have had the '10 days to get correctly licensed' letter. Numerous times. 😂
I don't use their service.
So I am correctly licenced. (No licence).
Which they have acknowledged by telling me the address is not licenced.
Nuff said. 🤣🤣🤣
...Twits.
Exactly. They already know you're not licenced
I recieved this letter last month , fook um
I told them I was invoking WOIRA and that any further letters would be classed as harrassment and would be referred to my legal advisers. Heard nothing since, over six months now, and was getting letters every month.
My favourite thing is when it's addressed to "The Occupier" hahahahahaha
in 8 years ive had 1 guy and he just laughed and said no worries mate ill put it in the system
Great work CJC,
The envelopes they use must cost a fortune because they are special
The person who designed the envelopes should get a lifetime achievement award
When I get loads I'm going to shread them and post em back to the BBC
I have had the letter that say will you be in on this day. No I won't. Thanks for letting me know
I think we all need to start sending them back with a lovely message on it 🤣
Whats the address of the BBC Director General's home address, then we could send every letter we get from the BBC back to his home.
The thing u hate the most about tvl is they say there coming to visit so i look forward to that to be able to chase them off but they never ever show up
Is there no mechanism in law - say via some consumer’s advisory service - where this threatening behaviour can be challenged and the perpetrators called to account?
The police will support the BBC's threat letters and so will your chief constable for your area. The police are terrified of the BBC, for some reason.
I'd also like to complain because I haven't needed a licence for more than ten years, I've received hundreds of letters and they haven't had the common decency to come to my house and give me the opportunity to close the door in their face and waste their precious commission earning time and petrol.
I'm feeling somewhat neglected.
Ok Jon Ellison.. tell me where you live and ill send them round to ya!🤣
@@NO-tz8qt I'm your lodger! :)
Iv had loads of them, I'm not scared and they haven't been round yet, I'm waiting
Just had my 10 day letter. So time to report Scott Robson for harrasment via the Kent Police Website.
They are just opportunistic fishermen.
Only today, I have had my second red envelope... Yes a red envelope. The problem is they do pick an easier target, the elderly.
You need to do a joint discussion with Peter Whittle at the New Culture Forum. Outline exactly what is needed and what isn't.
I believe it's one in twelve.
Had this letter a few weeks ago, went straight outside and picked fog poo up with it job done..
