  • Thanks for watching! MLB is the most broken league in all of sports. The NFL has been able to handle their injury crisis, by changing several rules. MLB has done the complete opposite.

    Kids up until the 90s used to throw constantly. The more you throw the more strength they gain. When guys threw 250+ innings a year while topping out at 91 mph you rarely heard of major injuries like this.
    Imo It's a combination of a lot of different factors.

      IMO chasing velocity and spin rate is the major factor for injuries
      Sure maybe the pitch clock has some tribute to the issues but it’s very little

      @@elchancho8432 chasing spin rate and velocity are the major factor. Almost no one uses it like Justin Verlander did early in his career where he'd start a game at 92-94 and throw his last pitch at 98-100.
      Scouts and GMs aren't impressed by 93 and a 3 ERA with 4ks per 9. They're impressed by 99 and a 4 ERA and 10ks per 9.

    It is not because of the pitching clock, it’s simply the velocity you simply cannot try and throw a baseball 98-100mph 1k times a year and not expect there to be a price to pay. We used to teach kids to throw east to west with precision 93-94 was excellent at that time. Then about 10-12 years ago it became a North to South game with RPM’s being the main emphasis velocity and strikeouts attached with Exit velocity and launch angle or Homer or nothing. These changes have simply turned the game and I firmly believe the emphasis on north, south, rpm, velocity have caused this.

    Pitchers back in the 70s and 80s worked at a quick pace and we didn’t see the epidemic of arm injuries that we’re seeing now. The difference now is that pitchers throw harder than ever, and the human arm just isn’t designed to be able to do that.

  • @johnmaddox1712
    @johnmaddox1712 2 місяці тому +2

    if you don’t like pitch clock your a snob. It’s made games watchable. If pitchers are throwing their arms out that’s on them for throwing so damn fast

  • @Parlimant_Strifey
    @Parlimant_Strifey 2 місяці тому +2

    Blame the pitching coaches. All pitching coaches promote throwing hard, they are like NPCs at this point. You can become a pitching coach overnight at this rate...these guys don't care about a pitcher's health at all.

    Pitching injuries have been on the raise every single year long before 2023 Pitch Clock
    You know what else was also on the raise every single year? Velocity and Spin rate
    Sure maybe the pitch clock has some input on the injuries however it would be very little

  • @mccawmedia6068
    @mccawmedia6068 2 місяці тому +2

    It’s less about the speed of the pitch and more about the spin rate.

  • @luckilew
    @luckilew 2 місяці тому +1

    The clock isn't the issue here. Just look at some of these damn arm angles.

      I agree 100 percent.
      The evidence completely points to velocity, spin, and poor mechanics.

    I truly think its a mix..... but leaning more towards they arent supposed to be throwing that hard....

    Less than a month in the regular season and we are already in a circus.
    I have a feeling an 82-80 team wins the world series since they won't be as injured by October.

    Idk i think the easiest step to take is to regulate some sticky thing they can use.
    I could dunk my hand in Dr. Pepper before an outing and get similar grip to pine tar. They can engineer a sticky powdered substance that can go in a bag.

    maybe pitchers need to go back and pitch like greg maddux and not care about speed or spin rate.

  • @bnardo11
    @bnardo11 2 місяці тому +2

    allowing a regulated "sticky stuff" would most likely be the best solution. or at least the right step forward

    the league is trying to control a a factor that isn’t in anyone’s control to begin with . every person is different and every person body is built and works differently. Changing the timing isn’t gonna affect every single player but it will affect those who’s body functions differently . They want the pitchers who throw more than 10 pitches an inning , ranging from 70 - 100 mph to do so in a fast manner . Common send me will tell you that’s not a good outcome . if the people that made those rules ever pitched in their life then they wouldn’t of have changed the rule . they basically chose saving tv money over their players heath at the end of the day z

    lol, baseball isn't broken at all. it's the best it has been since the late 80s when I first started watching it. Everything you mentioned happens in every single sport.

    I can fix the issue with foreign substances. Bring back the juices 2019 ball and let pitchers use whatever they want on the damn thing. So it's balanced.

    Your videos are solid, and you have good potential. My one criticism- try not to display so many upward inflections in your voice, like you're asking a question. Some of them sound really, REALLY forced. And cringe. And just overall feminine. Other than that, like your content for the most part

      In my style of content creation, my voice is one of the most critical parts of it all. Obviously something i’m only trying to improve on, and will hopefully find the right balance of tone soon enough.

    Perhaps reduce the distance between the pitcher and the batter ?

    • @refusetolose05
      @refusetolose05 2 місяці тому +1

      No, it's hard enough on batters as it is. When pitchers threw 250+ innings a year you had way fewer injuries. Guys like Glasnow have never been able to throw more than 130 innings and still ending up with Tommy John.
