UPDATE 3/21/24: The Microsoft team has informed me that there will be a "new version of streaks" that will be added to the Rewards hub on Monday, March 25th. I think someone was listening to us yesterday! I will most likely post an update next week if/when that new opportunity appears. 😊🏅
I was assuming something like the streaks and those 100 weekly points will show up, because the message said new activities will show up there. They already moved the daily points for achievements over there because it was so buggy in the rewards app. That app has been buggy and needed to be phased out.
My problem with this is we are losing more and more ways to earn points while there is little to nothing replacing some of those features. It would be better if they added ways to earn at least half of those points we lose out on from the programs being removed.
Feels like they are just going to make it harder to earn points while increasing costs of rewards...$100 Gift card was 91K points now its 95K....slowly will probably creep up over time little by little...😑🤦🏽♂️
I had $100 gift card at 91k pinned as my goal. I hit 91k but waited till I had 102k so I could still auto redeem Gamepass. The day I hit 102k they changed it to 95 🤦♂️

I kinda seen this coming when they gave us less rewards in the app. To be honest, I'm glad they are communicating to us. That being said, I wonder if we will be getting more reward opportunities for the hub moving on and if they will compensate us for the lost available points for the year. Over 17,000 is a lot of points to be lost a year. Keep up the good work on your videos and let us know if they come out with more information.

I hope so too, but in the USA, the punch cards didn't work. I remember one punch card where they lowered the points and it still didn't work. I stopped doing them. I am hoping for consistent communication in the future. Good luck everyone!
I get my 160 week streak in just in time. The points have been messing us around for a while now. Hopefully this new hub will give us the same amount of points each month. I'm kinda gutted, but kinda excited to see what this brings and how it evolves. Thanks for the heads up CP!
It's funny but my Xbox's hard drive died a couple days ago and I was debating getting another or switching to PC. That decision just got easier. Also looks like my 255 week Xbox app streak was doomed to end one way or another.
I still haven't made a hardware decision but canceling the GPU subscription has greatly increased my net monthly point income even with missing out on the Xbox-only Rewards offers.
Thank you for making these videos every week. They’ve been a massive help churning out achievements and free points. I love telling people about getting game pass for free. It takes a bit of time each day to maximise your points with Xbox, pc and searching/quizzes etc but it’s been fun. I’ll carry on doing it as long as the programme is still alive. The points were the plus of course but I like going for the streak. 325 weeks is a long time to be dedicated to anything. I just hope point limits never happen. Love your content!

Hopefully they move some of the other ways to earn points such as the featured games to the hub as that is a habdfull more points being lost too. I think they need to remember that one of the ways we find games that we end up playing is through the challenges. There have been a number of games i would never have picked up without those.

I couldn't use the app since the beginning of March anyway..... I had a strange ''update your location'' bug that prevented me from opening it. So I'm glad they get rid of it but I'm sorry for those that still could use it.
Me too I had this happen to me in October and November it wouldn’t let me open the app or it would crash it was horrible I was on a 170 week streak and next week I was about to hit my 20 week streak and now my 2500 points I was relying on is now gone lol😢
The announcements and extra points to earn will probably be added as cards in the Rewards section where it currently says Set Goal here and Explore the Rewards catalogue. Maybe they will introduce to equal out the points with further offers. At one stage of my continual feedback with Support, they did say that they were making changes to the Rewards system soon in 2024 but will be offering near the same if not more ways of earning more points. So that would be good if that is honored.
Yeah, it's not great news even though they're trying to spin it like it is, but I still think that if the team can be more communicative to us like they have been here... that would generally be a good thing. 😊🏅
I lost my 292 week streak on the app around 5 months ago, all cause the app would not calculate days correctly. It sucked, and yet, it was a blessing. Finally moved on from trying to keep it going

Another Con on the closing of the app you missed is it was the only way for gold members now core members could get points on console. So they will no longer be able to get any points on console. As to earn the points they push to it says you need xbox game pass ultimate or console.

I’ m not sure what Microsoft is trying to accomplish with all the changes to Rewards but I find myself playing Xbox games less because of it. I used to try the games that were in the weekly challenges and found I liked many of them and continued to play them. Those challenges are gone. If I get an achievement in a game, I stop playing for the day. Why waste another achievement if it won’t count towards the monthly goal? Now with the streaks gone I will play even less since there is no reason to login daily.
I'm on 582 week streak they've been eroding away the chance to earn for weeks. I'm able to max most points on my phone but just don't have time to do the achievements daily to get the monthly 1000. Thanks for all your help over the last few years👍

over the last year or so they have been removing or lowering the points that can be earned, and the way of earning points within the new hub are just low earners and boring and also because the monthly 500 point now has you having to do 45 daily's, I now only play a game pass game until I earn an achievement, then I'll possibly wait for the next day to try to play some more for another achievement, so I only play just enough to get one achievement per day, just so I can keep earning the daily's. I'm not playing game pass games for long periods.
Gonna miss the points but good riddance to the app. It’s been sluggish on my series x for months now. Constantly freezing, taking forever to register quests completed and every once in a while would freeze & crash my series x
i guess its fine if they have actul plan fro the points to add new weekly or dailys then its fine the app took to long to load anyways they propbley felt like they needed to streamline it better to be more responsive to clicks and button presses faster

Currently at a 250 week streak. RIP. Regarding the loss of points per year. In the new Rewards section, they did add +500 points/week if you play a console game 5 days that week. So, that's a +26,000 / year. Minus the loss of 17,700 points you mention, that's still a net gain of 8,300 per year. They added the +500 points/week a few months ago now I think? I forget. They might have added that in preparation of the removal of the app and weekly streaks.
Not everyone has access to the trial program that you're thinking of, unfortunately. Count yourself lucky that you've got access to those point opportunities! 😊🏅
Pretty sure that's only for a limited number of users in select regions. I don't have it in the US. I'm still way down on possible points due to the point decreases across the board. Hopefully the one you mentioned is just one of several things that will be rolled out to everyone once this change goes into effect.
I'm very disheartened about it shutting down because losing out on almost 18,000 points is wild. but at least they told us first and it wasn't a surprise. like always we just roll with the punches
I just got my 2500 bonus points for getting a 170 week streak. Guess that was good timing then. I’m hoping the last week they have some kind of special reward for it leaving. But I’m not holding my breath.
220 weeks, losing this (or any amount really) with no reparations seems careless. And to force GamePass Ultimate for any quests seems like a strong arm attempt at more money than some are prepared to spend.
Well as long at it covers Game Pass, I'll be happy. It does make sense though since the app is integrated on PC Game Pass as well. I don't usually use mobile but I'm assuming it's on there as well. Hopefully they just load it up with earning opportunities.
I have a 135 week streak oh well imma miss the week streak and the free 2000 points every ten weeks. Also mad they removed the free 2000 points they would give at the beginning of every month if you did a set of challenges.
Has anyone redeemed since this new section became active? I always went through the app, today marks the first day that I had to add a phone number, went through that whole process, received/entered the security code, got the "You're all good" notification and didn't receive anything else, my game pass still says it expires in a couple weeks and I have nothing new in my order history. Exactly what I was worried about with this new section.

The worst part about the app was waiting 10 or more seconds for the app to open. Especially when you're clicking on all the 5 point cards.

The value of your points has shot way up in Canada. Previously, $25 CAD in the Xbox store cost 23,900 points. Now it's 17,815!! That's massive!!

Hopefully the new app will be better optimized. My Series X loads a save on Balders Gate faster than the rewards app loads.

207 weeks here. Wish I could have at least got to my 210 week reward.
I stopped doing rewards for a while now especially when the monthly completionist quest got so unrealistic. Also the game quests got cut out. 🎉

Currently at a 250 week streak. RIP. Regarding the loss of points per year. In the new Rewards section, they did add +500 points/week if you play a console game 5 days that week. So, that's a +26,000 / year. Minus the loss of 17,700 points you mention, that's still a net gain of 8,300 per year. They added the +500 points/week a few months ago now I think? I forget. They might have added that in preparation of the removal of the app and weekly streaks.
Not everyone has access to the trial program that you're thinking of, unfortunately. Count yourself lucky that you've got access to those point opportunities! 😊🏅
Pretty sure that's only for a limited number of users in select regions. I don't have it in the US. I'm still way down on possible points due to the point decreases across the board. Hopefully the one you mentioned is just one of several things that will be rolled out to everyone once this change goes into effect.

I'm very disheartened about it shutting down because losing out on almost 18,000 points is wild. but at least they told us first and it wasn't a surprise. like always we just roll with the punches

I just got my 2500 bonus points for getting a 170 week streak. Guess that was good timing then. I’m hoping the last week they have some kind of special reward for it leaving. But I’m not holding my breath.
220 weeks, losing this (or any amount really) with no reparations seems careless. And to force GamePass Ultimate for any quests seems like a strong arm attempt at more money than some are prepared to spend.

Well as long at it covers Game Pass, I'll be happy. It does make sense though since the app is integrated on PC Game Pass as well. I don't usually use mobile but I'm assuming it's on there as well. Hopefully they just load it up with earning opportunities.
I have a 135 week streak oh well imma miss the week streak and the free 2000 points every ten weeks. Also mad they removed the free 2000 points they would give at the beginning of every month if you did a set of challenges.
By coincidence my streak had been resest. Guess i won't have to worry about that now...
Has anyone redeemed since this new section became active? I always went through the app, today marks the first day that I had to add a phone number, went through that whole process, received/entered the security code, got the "You're all good" notification and didn't receive anything else, my game pass still says it expires in a couple weeks and I have nothing new in my order history. Exactly what I was worried about with this new section.
