also, just adding this, not a lot of reactors seem to like you make me (which is fine, to each their own), but it holds a special place in myday's (fan name) heart. you make me was a song by day6 FOR myday, and it was their "letter" before the leader, sungjin, went off to the military. it was their first comeback since two of the members went on hiatus. and while it is such a different song compared to the rest, it still is so beautiful
Yeah it surprises me that not many reactors seem to like "You Make Me," but it has always been one of my top 3 favourites from Day6 (alongside "Shoot Me" and "Sweet Chaos"). I didn't know it was a song for mydays though, that's awesome!

I was working today when you make me started playing on repeat in my head (I’ve been spamming a lot of day6 the past few days) and I had to actually whipped out my AirPods and listen to it while working hehe
you know I've heard of Jae quite often tbh and didn't really realize he was a part of this group and it's honestly kind of shocking.
Jae has one of the sweetest voices in Kpop, n I'm a proud MyDay to have him in Day6 💕

Day6 are a gem of a group. Jae is absolutely HILARIOUS, as are most of the members in the group. The drummer, Dowoon, who you think is so cool is an absolutely uncoordinated dweeb who is too hilarious for his own good. He’s also my bias. Day6 write, help produce, and coordinate a lot of their music. Most of it is extremely personal to whoever aided in the writing of the song. They are masters in evoking emotion through their songs and honestly just release bangers or at least, emotional attention grabbing songs.

if you notice he actually didn't shoot back with bullets but with colors (paint), i have seen this metaphor compared to hate in general that they might receive online too, this lyrics can be interpreted so many ways. "vicious words hurt like a bullet" was displayed at the beginning of the video, on a cafe board and at the end of the video too
Don't worry, Dowoon (the drummer) is very much appreciated by other reactors, the fans and especially Day6. He's very cool AND he sings sometimes, which is nice. I'm so glad you reacted to them, they're some of my ults.
If you want more suggestions, I suggest checking out Pentagon's Daisy, Basquiat, Dr.Bebe and Sha La La, and I suggest checking out A.C.E's Take Me Higher, Cactus, Savage and Undercover. They're both super underrated groups.

"Shoot Me" is one of their songs that I don't really get into anymore but I loved it when it came out. I do have a ton of favorites from them though, that I never get tired of listening to. The ones from this reaction are "Congratulations" and "Zombie" (the relatability is too real with "Zombie"). If you want something a bit different in terms of a "happier feel" definitely check out "Dance Dance" and "Time Of Our Life!" Those are probably close to the top of my list of Day6 songs I go back and listen to all the time.
Zombie has an english version, you should listen to it... It hits even harder
I’m so glad you gave dowoon (the drummer and maknae) the attention he deserves! He especially helped with the bring to life the tone of zombie in the way he acted while playing. Dowoon is absolutely a legend on the drums and he works hard af. For him even practicing all day isn’t enough sometimes, he cares a lot about his craft and honestly has such good stage presence while doing it too.
If you want another song that will hit deep like "Zombie" you should definitely listen to "I need somebody" - Also one of my favorites.
But man, Day6 is a deep beautiful and colorful sea that has all sorts of different wonders. There are so many good songs for them that it's so difficult to pick.

Day6 is amazing! I think I first discovered them through Young K's covers. His song Microphone might actually be my favorite B-side from 2021. He is also credited as songwriter for much of their discography.
Another group I would love to see you react to is A.C.E. They are extremly talented and underrated. To get a feel for their diversity you could check out "Cactus"(debut), "Savage"(most popular) or "Under Cover"(personal favorite), "Higher"(artistic) and one of their live covers to really appreciate the vocals f.e. “Feel Special (by 트와이스)” Band LIVE Cover
One of the best debuts in Kpop with the most diverse discographies. In shoot me I think shooting back the colourful paint is a metaphor for reacting to negativity with kindness. That's why the color tone of the video changes. Young K is a lyrical genius. Their vocals are unique and insane. They sing a song for every emotion. Their album Entropy is the best kpop album I've heard. Zombie coincidently came out during the start of covid and honestly resonated with so many who were struggling from being isolated and struggling with feelings of monotony and despair. The song doesn't necessarily try to tell us we will be okay. It's purpose it so comfort us. It ends with what ppl expect would be a build up but it actually dies down and the synth turns into a keyboard to just become so hauntingly beautiful. It made us feel like we weren't alone. You Make Me has killer vocals. Wonpil is the one with the soft high vocals 45:30.
Jae aka Eaj is smooth airy vocals 40:22. Sungjin with the raspy impassioned vocals 33:08. Young K at 45:57 has one of the most versatile voices in all the industry. Watch his cover of Fly Me to the Moon.
This probably is one of the most emotional moments of me watching Zombie reaction vid. That "you feel like there's somebody out there who understands you" hits so different. Day6 is really THAT band. Thank you for this!!!!!

That's something I've noticed with all kbands though and I feel like you'd enjoy kbands such as The Rose, N.Flying or ONEWE a lot too. Fun fact: Those placed top 3 in my Spotify rewind that year with ONEWE's "Regulus" taking the top spot haha

Haha, yes Wonpil (the keyboardist/vocalist/songwriter) and Seungmin (SKZ) look really similar, the boys and fans from both fandoms think so too, which is so cute since Seungminnie is such a Day6 fan. Also YoungK (bassist/vocalist/rapper/songwriter) looks similar to Han (SKZ), it’s really cool how Day6 (the whole group) are like older brothers to SKZ (especially to Channie with how long he was a trainee for) but also you could easily mistake YoungK and Wonpil as Han and Seungmin’s siblings due to their similar looks. But yeah, generally Myday and Stay acknowledge and love that they look alike.
Thanks for reacting to day6. They were my ult before stray kids and I really love their music. They have a saying called ‘trust and listen to day6’ which basically means they have no bad songs and whatever music they come out with, it’s always gonna be good. I’ve listened to every song in their discography and I’ve never been disappointed, their music is amazing.

omg I'm so excited to see you checking out some Day6!!! They are incredible, your reaction to congratulations is one of the best I've ever seen (and believe me, I've seen A LOT) and I agree with everything you said. They have in my opinion some of the best vocals in Korea and the emotion that comes through when they sing anything is what instantly grabbed me and told me "you're in this day6 thing for life now", if you really want to see some S tier emotional vocals I recommend watching Letting go and I'll try. Letting go was released after the original keyboardist left the band and they clearly feel every word they are singing. I'll try is a song to their mothers and it is just a masterpiece, makes me cry everytime.

I discovered Day6 last year right after they released zombie and it was.... I don't even know how to describe it but it hit me like a truck because every word described what I was feeling exactly and I felt seen. It helped me pull through and I dived deep into Day6 after that, they were honestly one of the most important things for me at the time and I just know in the future I'll look back on the hell that was 2020 and see Day6 (and also stray kids) as one of the only good things to have come out of that. U Make Me can also be Day6’s ode to their fans, My Day. Toxic or sweet as the MV suggests, where the couple cant live wo eo - likewise, for both Day6 & MyDays - we r one. N we live and die tgthr. The song is more profound as its the last single for the group, b4 the boys go onto military & Jae/eaJ (who’s American nationale & dont need to enter Kor military) left JYP. Their future is very much in a limbo bt we’re all hoping fr the best & waiting patiently for 2024 fr them to come back tgthr - cos not seeing them live at least once in yr life is a complete crime. If you are interested, there's a part two that connects to the MV of "Congratulations" called "You Were Beautiful". It's set some time later after the guy has healed from the breakup and he sends the girl an email that says "You Were Beautiful" with videos of her through his eyes. You get an understanding of their relationship from both of their eyes as their story comes to a close as they move on. Form Of Therapy's channel did a really interesting retrospective on the connection of the MVs, too.

aaaaa thank you so much for reacting to them!! yess that’s exactly how I feel about Zombie too, it’s actually the song that really got me into them after I’d been a casual listener for quite some time and it holds a special place in my heart, it’s honestly my comfort song. I’m sure you’ve been told already but the guy that stood out to you is Jae, the keyboard player with the high vocals is Wonpil (Seungmin is his biggest fan and a huge Myday in general haha) and the drummer is Dowoon, he has actually recently released a solo song, “Out of the blue” which is a duet with Song Heejin. all of Day6’s solo stuff is crazily good tbh, especially Jae’s song Pacman and YoungK’s Guard You :) other groups I think you might like are P1Harmony, The Rose and Onewe

OH you mentioned how they seem very story driven! they have a music video trilogy sort of thing where it’s a series of mvs that have a linked storyline. fairly sure the order is: what can i do, i loved you, when you love someone. also, the music video for all alone is like an epilogue to that storyline :)

You Make Me is usually the kind of song that you need to get used to. I liked it in the beginning but took me like good 4-6 listens to warm up to it (and it's also definitely better without the mv interuptions) and it's definitely in my top Day6 songs.
But Congratulations is a song that ages like fine wine. It's safe to say that it's my number one kpop song (not only Day6). I do have times where I like a certain kpop songs more maybe because it's newer and has a beat that I like more but I always end up back at Congratulations.... Just a freakin masterpiece
Other songs from Day6 that I really like from them: Sweet Chaos, Time of our life, I wait, You were beautiful, I Loved You, days gone by (title tracks) and Afraid, Colors, Dance Dance, Letting Go, STOP (때려쳐), Love Me Or Leave Me and many more for side tracks...
Some songs are a live at first sight and others take a bit of time for you to like but I can safely say that Day6 doesn't have nay bad songs.

eyyy thank you for reacting to day6, i absolutely love them and i'm super excited to see any reactions to more of them in the future :o their music is so beautiful and meaningful, they've brought so much good and hope to my life. also you were super close with what shoot me is about, but at the end it isn't that they're finally lashing back in anger, its that instead they're responding with kindness, or at least a refusal to continue the cycle and hurt them back. that's why it was colourful paint when they fired back ^^

I didn't get You make me the first listen but now I can't not sing along to it. FYI they write all their own music, YoungK (the basist) writes most of their lyrics.
Also, please react to Pentagon again!! They are my ult group. They have such a varied discography and just super talented, self-producing idols. I'd recommend reacting to Daisy (got their first win), Do or Not (most recent comeback), Dr. Bebe (dark concept), Basquiat performance video (song they wrote for the final of RTK) and Naughty Boy (my personal fave happy pill song). These are all title tracks but they have so many great besides too when you're ready to dive in deeper.

You should check English versions of Congrtulations and Zombie - I don't know which ones I like more (Korean or English), they are not completly the same, but both are amazing. Also, You were beautiful both Korean and English version. And if you want something "similar" to Zombie I recommend I Need Somebody (my favourite DAY6 song along with Zombie). It's a very beautiful song with amazing vocals and deep lyrics.

@@lia-se6jp during Zombie era two members (Jae and Sungjin) cuz of mental health issues, ot5 was inactive for almost a year hence the band made a sub unit (Even of Day) and released "Where the sea sleeps" which every myday hold dearly because the lyrics and mv is pertaining to the Parkbros (Jae and Sungjin) , also this is the reason why the sea holds a very deep meaning to every mydays because in "You make me" the latest and probably the last... for now (cuz the members are enlisting one by one except for Jae) ot5 comeback, they all met by the sea continuing the "Where the sea sleeps" story line. also the meaning of the lyrics is somewhat a description of the relationship of the band and the fans that Mydays make "Me" and Day6 make "Me"

When Zombie came out it hit me so hard, maybe because of COVID but I shared this song on social media (not something I usually do) but I thought others would feel the same way. I can listen to it and not cry anymore thankfully.
As to the other songs, all I can say is that I feel there have been some failed relationships by the members as they write almost all of their stuff. I have been a MyDay for some time and the heart wrenching sound they put out gets me in my feels.

When you said "it's my least favourite song" I understand you because you choose between awesome songs and just other songs hit you more
All songs are beautiful and you can just choose only with your emotions
When you talk about transitions - man, you need to listen more of their songs, it's everywhere, it will make you crazy
I listen them like five years and it's never getting old, they have huge discography (I'm not fluent in English, so sorry)
