It's because it fucks up his indoor season and he needs to randomly fly to australia, get jet-lagged and so on (there are plenty of reasons not to go). If it was somewhere in europe he would definitely enter if it wasn't too close to the indoor championships. If he cares more about track, he should do track. Pretty simple
slowly increaisng intensity and mileagy over the years and good recovery keeps you injury three also if they have knee problems they don't race haha so you don't see them and if they do a knee compression sleeves won't help much either
