They contacted me again offering another replacement. I am just going to return it. Thats my weekend job in jeopardy can’t be thinking about them for now. But yeah hope people will see it and not just UA-camrs who are being paid by MPB. They do have quite a few of them
Ordered a lens regarded as excellent by them, arrived and the auto focus didn't work. They clearly don't test their products and their customer service is shocking!
Okay, thanks for reporting that to us. I bought a lot of lenses second hand, all from private and never had any complaints. I think i won't buy at MPB anytime soon.
Brother you are doing yourself a favour 👏 I bought so many from ebay from random people and never had a single lens faulty and 3 from MPB - all messed up. I think it is quite telling. They used to be more expensive than eBay but lately they are cheaper and it makes you wonder, right? Probably like with many things - once they become too big - quality drops…
You know who is the main target audience selling at B&H, MPB and co? The ones who had no sucess selling bad stuff. I know why i never bought from or sold to these "business" any lens and only private/2nd hand. If you try to sell them things in good condition... they will tell you "there is a scratch on the body, bad condition"... they will polish out the scratch, replace a damn grip pad or dont do anything at all since its minor and sell it for a high upprice as "very good" condition. The only experience i can talk of with MPB is a friend who bought there once a tele lens, and he bought it in best possible condition, so he had no troubles, but the price was also ridicilous (but i guess you have a limited warranty?) The only 2nd hand lens i have not bought private yet was recently a Canon EF-S 17-55 2.8 from a shop, his price was as good as the private ones and i got there personally to check the lens before purchase. It was in as good/bad condition as this dust pump goes plus i have theoretically a year warranty (unlike from private).
i typed 'nikkor 50mm f1.8' into mpb and it displayed ONE photo under which was stated 'four available'. you might want to consider the implications of that fact in relation to your complaints about photographic misrepresentation.
Had same problem. Traded a Nikon 28-70 with loose focus ring. Rated it good. Trade rated excellent. Received and zoom was so tight I could barely turn it. MPB replaced it and second one has a dent in the lens barrel and a loose focus ring. Paid $200 to upgrade to a worse lens. Never again.
wow that was a joke! I also have that 24-70 lens and that is not normal! I just recently bought an excellent condition nikon 70-200 2.8 vrii and when I tested it, AF wasn't working. It squeeled then stopped. Do MPB even test the lenses before they go out? I get the feeling they get left on a shelf in a dark, cold room for months years before sold.
After dealing with them for 25 years im getting out .They have gone to Shit since going international and the prices are crazy .Nice friendly staff ,but they are Gone Rubbish.
Yeah thats the story I keep hearing but I guess as long as MPB is making cash they wont care but other companies like Wex are already taking a part of their business
The lens has probably sat for a long time and the grease has dried out.. Maybe they tested it when they first got it but not when they sent it out.. which is a stupid thing to do obviously..
I hope this is just a UK localised issue but I have a feeling their rapid expansion proven a little too much for MPB to handle or just greed. Either way never had such situation buying from individual photographers / filmmakers even on eBay...
@@CINENIMUS well the issue is... their business model include exactly to buy stuff as "bad" and selling it as "better" because "they are MPB". It all comes down to the fact that they need to make profit - on top of being taxed, so the only ones really losing (compared to buying private) are the MPB and co customers... no matter if they sell or buy.
every item has its description of what state it was in [like new, excellent, good, well used, and heavily used ] If it was heavily used it is normal that can be like that. so I would say check the description...as if u purchase is heavily used it can be like that as items are used and they have the test done before sending...besides they have a warranty on every purchase so u can send back
I just bought a lumix lx100 and i took it out of the package, aannd busted screen... its like they never even tried turning it on... I would like to exchange for one that they can verify works buy Im so angry right now... I have to wait till Monday to even hear from them..
This is shocking 😳😱 second lens in the row that should have been AT LEAST without any zoom ring issues 🤯 clearly nobody checked that this is going to customer that is getting replacement for the same lens that has zoom ring issue. This is just bad. Sorry it happened to you again😢
Currently having a similar saga with a Canon 70-200 F4 IS L lens with a broken focusing assembly that Canon USA service confirmed. Going on 5 weeks waiting for MPB to make this right.
Seriously? That's actually insane. I hope they make it right. They seriously need to start testing their stuff..

That's pretty poor standards, they should fully refund you including postage costs. Next time buy from a reputable shop.
Yeah they are collecting it on Monday

Looks like things at mpb still didn’t change…

They dont test anything - well documented if you look online
I prefer buying from Adorama or BH. MPB and KEH have so many paid people on UA-cam that you can’t trust them anymore.
100% thats why noone will probably ever sponsor me haha I say it how it is I dont care
That is a seriously messed up lens. Ive purchased lens from MPB (USA) and have had great results each time. Hopefully they make this right for you.

If you had watched the video you would know that was not the case. Troll

There are some serious issues with that company. It’s putting me off from buying used to be honest 🥺

Feel your pain brother
Ouch, i hope you get a refund or replacement.
I did, just a huge waste of time at the end…
