  • Renogy recently sent me their most lightweight, durable high wattage suitcase to review, and I have to admit I really like this product. I have been using it for about a month, and so far, it is doing a great job at meeting my solar needs. I think everyone should have some form of back-up power source, especially in these very uncertain times. These portable solar panels are a great solution and are very versatile.. I have to apologise for the poor sound quality in this video, I am not a professional video editor but do try to improve each time.

Brilliant easy to follow video I'm running something similar myself but a lot smaller basically a single Ecoflow 60W 12V panel the new variant with the kickstand built into the back paired with a Powerwerx 150W LFP MPPT controller which charges my airtravel friendly Ultramax 12V 10AH and 12AH batteries from flat in around 3 hours of sun pushing a shade over 45W into the batteries at 14.6V. During the summer I run my laptop and 22 inch screen mainly from batteries and inverters. On a fully sunny day I can get my largest 30Ah Ecoworthy nearly full from flat so solar does work. I have a 100W folding panel which has died only pulls 0.5A in full sun now but the newly designed Ecoflow panels are pretty tough. With only using a 60W panel the whole setup is easy to travel with.

Well done, sounds like a good set up and it's something I think everyone should consider doing. I am really happy having some extra solar input now, makes such a difference. Thanks for watching the video and taking time to comment it is appreciated.

Yes 100% agree everyone needs some sort of solar strategy even if its just a 15W 5V USB charger. I'm one of those geeks who loves to travel with my gear so my strategy is to make sure my gear is airsafe plus even with the smaller Ultramax batteries with decent cables I can pull 200W plus through my Cotek 700W inverter and backpack portable Victron 12/250 and run all my radios at full power without much RFI. Pitty some members of Heathrow security aren't clued up on the current battery regs but you just have to stand your ground and show them the Ultramax datasheets and battery regs and ask for a manager if they are being funny. In future I think I'd get larger batteries for home with a larger panel and controller. I've never had issues in the EU and beyond. Low RFI is critical for my usage so I'm not tempted by all in one power stations as of yet. I find I save a ffare bit during the summer.@@DCGUY
