    Sylvia Maracle (Skonaganhlh:ra), a member of the Wolf Clan from the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, has worked with the National Association of Friendship Centres, the Native Women’s Association of Canada, the Assembly of First Nations, and the National Aboriginal Head Start Council. She is a lecturer on urban development, women’s issues, and the cultural revitalization of her people, and she has been recognized as a primary shaper of culture-based management principles. Her work enabled a national network of service-delivery agencies, like the Friendship Centres. She has received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and a National Aboriginal Achievement Award in public service.
