People need to remember that being scared can be shown in different ways Some freeze Some laugh Some cries And some first break down later when it is over
As someone who laughs, yes. My school had to go on an actual lockdown. We had scheduled practice times but i could tell from the confusion on my teachers face and the fact that a few days before we already had a practice drill that this was a serious matter. I was pretty scared, but for some reason I couldn't stop making jokes and silently laughing about it in the storage area we all were in. It ended up being a bomb threat, which is terrifying in its own way, but what i thought was that it was an intruder. If it was, then me making jokes and laughing probably wouldn't be the best...
@@j3lly5h4rk I found an article about the time we had a lockdown at my school. I removed some details to avoid doxing myself more than I already have. "Due to a suicide threat, [redacted] High School was locked down by local authorities. The incident happened in the school’s parking lot, nearby [redacted], last Wednesday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. It occurred that an unidentified man had a dispute with his girlfriend, and he threatened to kill himself if anyone comes closer. [redacted] County sheriff deputies immediately ordered a lockdown of the school, but it was lifted 30 minutes after. The said lockdown was meant to ensure the students’ safety and as a precautionary measure. The deputies are looking searching for the man. They believed that he is a [redacted] resident, but not from the school." This happened right at the start of my sophomore year, which was in 2012. I think school let out at 3:15, maybe 3:30, so myself and everyone else still waiting in the car line were moved into the auditorium. I remember there were rumors swirling about bomb threats being made. We had ALICE training, which was fun because it's the only time in school that you're encouraged to pick out some object from the classroom to use as a weapon.
Hey everyone! Your reactions is completely normal: There is 3 signs in fear: Freeze Flight And fight. There is no shame when you can’t react in a certain situation
A few days ago me, my mom, and my siblings went back to our house, we just came back from Orlando because that's where my dad was working and we were staying at the hotel with him, so we came back and we were getting ready to go to sleep when my mom asked us if we turned on the lights in her room, we all said no and then my mom thought that maybe it was my 5 year old sister who probably went in there to put her shoes in the room, my mom goes to check and she notices that my little sisters shoes are in the living room, so she turns the lights off and closes the door to her room, she then tells me to come with her to the kitchen because she was scared and she needed to finish putting our clothes in the washing machine, and when we were in the hallway going to the kitchen we saw that the lights were on again and the door was opened again, she froze in place and so I told her to grab her phone and call the cops in my room where everyone else was, we lock the door and I can't help but smile because that's how I react to a lot of things, and it's not that the person doesn't take it seriously it's just the way they react to that situation. Sorry for writing such a long comment also the lights were on because my uncle was feeding our pet Rabbit while we were gone, he left the lights on and the reason the lights came back on after my mom turned it off was because she didn't turn it off, so there was no one in our house.
People are so quick to be mad at that woman but have no idea what it’s like to witness something horrible. She froze. The fact that this footage is even available to police shows she presumably called them and gave them this footage. Her husband went to chase the car down. Calling the police sooner could not help any more than they already have. And you want a woman to what? Fight the perp? Put herself in danger and possibly killed? Get over yourselves. We are human, she was terrified, and she did what she could in this situation
You know, getting back in the house and call 911 isn't that big of a thing to do, I was in her situation and yeah, it's fucking scary, but you pull out your phone, or search for one, and call the police, maybe they could've found the screaming girl if someone did something. She's not the only one I criticize, at least she had the decency to do something after the possible kidnapper left, but the neighbors!? They are even worse. Also calling the police as soon as possible DOES change the situation, trust me
@@asianspaghetti2844 Everybody reacts to trauma differently. Some people run, some fight and some straight up freeze. Your experience isn't the only one possible. Unless you have experience with dealing with high intensity situations, you'll have very little control over how you react.
I know people react differently, but she coulda at least reacted with more urgency. Better than having her hands on her hips going "fuck they doing over there???"
When stuff like this happens, you don't know what to do. In my apartment complex a lady screamed like the one in the video for 10 seconds then suddenly stopped. It was pretty creepy. Everyone was on their decks confused as to what to do and what just happened. And in that confusion people tend to do nothing.
Aww yes when I’m drunk I stalk a girl for awhile then try to get into her apartment then try to figure her code out of her apartment this checks out just fine
I just want to say thank you for explaining that the woman in the Jane Doe case actually dose do something. It bothers me when people criticize bystanders in situations like this for not doing something, when usually they do something. Unfortunately in certain situations the bystander can't do much but call the police and hope they weren't too late
I've seen the full video, there were around 10 neighbors outside watching as this guy kept pulling this girl back into the car and yelling im sorry while she screamed for help. It was her ex BF trying to kidnap her. Only 1 person out of the 10 actually did anything and called 911 and it was the husband who followed the car. Everyone else just watched and went back inside like nothing happened which is beyond fucked up.
It’s not that simple though. In all honestly, the most that someone can do might only be call the cops which sucks but is just how it works. Not everyone can just dart driving after this guy. Sometimes there’s just nothing you can do. The only thing we can do (in this specific situation) is hope that the girl is alive
@@readingwithfrenchy That's the dreaded bystander effect. I hate it that people always think 'someone else will do it'. I hated it so much that I un-learned that instinctive habit, people should start learning that when there is screaming or any other accident they should help instead of standing like an empty brainer.
@@TheOcculticUnicorn unfortunately some people, as much as they're trained, dont do the fight. Ive seen military persons do this when put into certain situations and thats why majority should try and be more fight instead of flight. Appreciate that you put content warnings on specific parts of the video. All too often horror channels won't and it'll result in total whiplash from going from a dorky ghost video to literally watching someone die.
I feel like I've been misinterpreted. The original comment said that the content warnings in this video helped to prevent horror whiplash, but even without the warnings, all the examples in this video are pretty serious (unlike Nexpo's videos).
To the second story: I had been hearing crazy children's cries from the apartment across me (I live in a dense European street), not your normal whiny screams, but like the kid was in pain. Then a few days later, I heard a woman screaming 'Don't come in,' and other stuff while she was walking down the street, (it was quite untelligable), but apparently the 'person' did come in, and then the screaming got worse and more horrifying. I couldn't understand much because they were inside, but at one point I clearly heard something like 'I don't want a psycho in my bedroom!' and then I heard things clashing and breaking and I IMMEDIATLY called the cops. I KNOW those awful, gut wrenching, animalistic screams. Since I live in a studio in the attic, I hadn't seen them walking through the street or saw them enter which building exactly, and the police were SO DAMN DIFFICULT about it. Apparently, 'family disputes' (I didn't even know if it was that) don't get taken seriously too well. I thought 'Don't come in' and 'Psycho in my bedroom' sounded more like a rapist or something. Then there was sudden dead silence and my heart really died a little at that moment, fearing for the worse. I was in my pajama's already, but I descended all the stairs and sat in the cold, waiting and waiting for the police, trying to figure out where the sound had been coming from. Just before the police arrived, the screaming resumed, somehow that made me 'relieved' because that ment nobody was killed, and now I could pinpoint exactly where the screaming was coming from, and I told them what I had made out that was said during the screaming. Somebody in the same building had already opened the door when they saw police had arrived (why didn't THEY call the police, then?!) and they told me I should go back inside. From my studio window, I could see they were inspecting a level with flashlights (was the light not working?) and they went up to the attic as well, then, apparently there was just one working light in one room, and it was silent there for a long time. I still don't know what really happened, but since then there are no more crying children or screams, and I think that level of the building is vacant now, because I never see anybody there anymore. I come from an abusive family, but my house was extremely isolated, and screams couldn't be heard by neighbours. I was a kid and I just wished somebody could call, because my mother was too afraid. So stuff like that really hits home. And I really believe I did the right thing. People should call sooner, because it appears I was the only one that called, even though the screams could be heard all through the dense street.
@@alexandramarberry1023 It's better to be safe than to be sorry. Not calling the police would regardless be a very bad thing to do when you feel that you are in danger or others around you are.

The entire Jane Doe thing made me flinch every time I heard her scream. I feel so bad for her... but there was nothing that could've been done, and I don't blame the woman on the porch. Atleast her husband tried to go after them. Doing SOMETHING is better than doing absolutely nothing. You don't know if she ushered her husband to go after them or not, so don't blame her.

I was--and currently still am--in Korea when video for that man trying to get into the woman's apartment made the news. People were PISSED. And he was one of a bunch that started to pop up online. Korea does NOT do enough to punish the men and people that attempt this type of thing. I'm a foreigner, and I have been followed by men repeatedly in my small town, their intentions clearly nefarious. It's quite terrifying. I've had many bad experiences. I'm always on edge around men here, whether it's day or night...
That sounds terrible:( Do you mind telling which town you live in? I want to move to a smaller town in Korea for ministry work but I’m scared of that happening to me too:(
It's sad that I wasn't even surprised when I found out this happened. I lived in Seoul for a while with my family and I would hear cases like this way too often.
I was there at the time too, it was so scary, thankfully I lived in a share apartment and when I move back I'll be moving in with my boyfriend just because living alone is so terrifying, been harassed there way too many times
Out of curiosity, what's Korea's policy when it comes to presuming guilt/innocence? In my country we generally presume innocence, and if SK has a similar policy, it would be hard for a court to assume his motivations without coming into conflict with that ideal.
I can understand both sides regarding the sentence, pushing for the attempted rape borders on thought crime, while only putting trespassing is straight negligence. I could understand attempted burglary and leave his motives as anything criminal after making entry. (Perspective from someone in Law Enforcement)
I've also done that as a young kid, it made me gag seeing my mom carelessly grab things from the front line instead of the back, not knowing who had tampered with what. Now, I understand why she was so careless; she relied on religious beliefs. No, it is not wrong to, but sometimes, there are things that you should try to do yourself. Better to be safe than to be sorry, as the narrator said (and yes I know these aren't just stories but I'm not sure what else to call the youtuber)
I'm surprised so many people are mad at the woman who froze on her front porch. First off there seems to be a lack of understanding of how "shock" and "fear" work. Not everyone jumps up at the sound of another person screaming and goes into superman mode. Secondly given that we have the footage she or her husband called the police. I don't know why people assume that she just stood there doing nothing. I believe her husband called the police while she was looking out for the screaming woman so she could help the investigation later. Which is a lot smarter than having multiple people of the same household call the police to basically tell them the same thing...
Plus it was like, 3am or something like that. Most people are sound asleep at that time, and even if they did wake up (there are some people who can somehow sleep through anything) they could be confused or still partially asleep and not know what's going on.
Because it tends to be a theme today that people automatically think the worst of others, especially others they do not know, so quick to criticize and rip apart strangers...it fucking sucks

22:50 omg I'm in Seoul and the EXACT same thing happened to me. This guy was rattling my doorknob and trying to force the door open.. and the police said the exact thing. To add insult to injury our house doesn't have a CCTV but there is a public police CCTV on the street lamp post right outside my door so I asked them to view that and they said since no crime was committed and for the privacy of others that may be on camera, they can't view the footage and I had to get my own CCTV... like lmao why have the CCTV at all then? They didn't even say trespassimg bc the man didn't get inside the house... well if he did I probably wouldn't have made the emergency call.. And after paying out of my own pocket to fix the doorknob the man broke, it happened again years later.. A contractor (not official employee) of a package delivery service did that and I didn't even bother calling the police. I called the package company to deal with it. He came around twice more after he got fired from said company but I couldn't do anything about it.
No charges were laid because no contact was made? So if i try to shoot someone and miss its not attempted murder because I didn't actually make contact? What a stupid argument.
I think what it meant was because if you shoot a person the motive is clear; you want to kill the person. However, in this case, it's either he tries to steal, rape, or simply trespass. I understand that most likely, he meant to rape the woman. It's quite obvious. But law doesn't work that way. In order to be penalized, you need to be proven wrong without a doubt. And the only thing he did, which is obvious is trespassing. For that, undoubtedly, he could be penalized, but unfortunately, law doesn't work on "it could be", no matter how obvious it might seem like. For new we'd just be grateful nothing happened to the lady and hopefully nobody else will.
It's more as if you point your gun to someone and they charge you with attempted murder, you can say "I didn't plan to shoot it was all a joke, it's not attempted murder because I never attempted to shoot "
@@MacetazzOpina as long as you didn't actually shoot it, well, you won't! I feel so sorry for that girl who was screaming. That scream got to me. I hope she’s doing ok, wherever she is, or that she’s in a better place than she was before.
Just my input on the possible kidnapping. I grew up with alcoholic parents who would turn crazy and psychotic (my mother especially) when drunk. In my childhood, I can recall at least 3 different occasions in which my mother tried to jump out of the car screaming this way. This explanation jumped out at me because in the video you can hear the male driver saying “I’m sorry, I’m sorry”, and I feel like a possible kidnapper would focus more on keeping the girl from screaming rather than apologizing for her behavior. That might explain why this isn’t solved.
The mother of Tashira Boughton believes it’s her daughter in the video, and on her Facebook page some of her last posts are scribbling on paper, which is something people with schizophrenia do. Therefore, it’s not far off to believe someone was taking her to the hospital as she was having a mental health crisis. She could’ve been released soon after and disappeared, as she was previously homeless.

So if you do have or intend to get an audible membership, be sure to use your credits when you get them, and definitely use them before ending your subscription. Otherwise, you end up literally throwing away the money you spent on the subscription. Something I learned the hard way. @@alyssag8099 Yea, after this recording. I've had to call the police in a situation where I couldn't see the person who was calling for help because they were a few streets over. 911 keeps you on the line for a bit to ask questions about the situation, and to run out as soon as you hear the screaming, you'd still be holding the phone.

She was supposed to use her super vision to locate the license plate in pure darkness

People need to remember that being scared can be shown in different ways
Some freeze
Some laugh
Some cries
And some first break down later when it is over
As someone who laughs, yes.
I freeze when scared and my heart feels like it stops beating. Its not a fun time. And i have all means to defend myself but i just freeze
@@j3lly5h4rk
I found an article about the time we had a lockdown at my school.
They believed that he is a [redacted] resident, but not from the school."
This happened right at the start of my sophomore year, which was in 2012.
Your reactions is completely normal:
There is 3 signs in fear:
Freeze
Flight
And fight.

Hello fellow deathling
i freaking love her channel
I saw that. I love her channel!
Collective unconscious is wild cuz I just watched her video about it yesterday

To the second story:
I had been hearing crazy children's cries from the apartment across me (I live in a dense European street), not your normal whiny screams, but like the kid was in pain.
Your story is definitely a good one. Sometimes, experience can help us save others.
@@alexandramarberry1023 It's better to be safe than to be sorry. Not calling the police would regardless be a very bad thing to do when you feel that you are in danger or others around you are.

I've always had that fear of someone tampering with stuff, so I always take the product behind the one in front. Anxiety isn't a bad thing sometimes.
Thanks, I’ll make sure to get that one next time :)
I do the same thing! I grab from the back!
Nice pfp!
A lot of times the stuff in the back is closer to expiring because the stockers just shove the old stuff with the newer shipment.
Yeah that would make sense. Then after they left , the husband get out the house and try to follow them
Her husband did, but like 2 mins late, and she could’ve called the police anyways

AE Edwards really, how so?
The fact that we need to apparently start wrapping up every single kind of food for fear of possible tampering makes me so sad. This is the state of the world we live in...
It's a good thing. If its wrapped, you cant tamper with it
It's also likely to help people who have allergies. If it was wrapped before being shipped to a store, there's less of a chance of cross contamimation.
How about you go look up the killer that was spraying Visine eye solution on fruits & in drinks etc....
You'll never eat fruit again after that....
He came around twice more after he got fired from said company but I couldn't do anything about it.
ok so now I'm gonna definitely make a vigilante gang and branch to korea as my first branch... maybe overseer it for a few years...

No charges were laid because no contact was made? So if i try to shoot someone and miss its not attempted murder because I didn't actually make contact? What a stupid argument.
Exactly...
You're most likely gonna be charged for carrying firearms in public, had it confiscated, and maybe depending on how many people sees it and how they react, also another charge for endangering public security and causing hysteria.
But not attempted murder.

The first story isn't even scary, it's just sad.
I think it's less the horror of the disease and more of the horror of how it was dealt with by authorities-- also just generally how people with leprosy are treated, even though it's not as prevalent a disease anymore.
The title dosnt say scary stories it just says stories of our disturbing world. That might be why.

Why would someone need a trigger warning when watching a video showcasing disturbing content
@@dochydro7524 I hate the term "Trigger Warning" because it makes people think the idea is new or made up by "sensitive snowflakes". It's a "Content Warning" - you ever watch TV and hear "The Following Contains [insert possibly sensitive subject matter here], Viewer Discretion is Advised" before a show starts or after a commercial break? Same idea.
Some people are more disturbed by mentions of stalking or suicide than graphic depictions of the results of leprosy, or vice versa, and may want to skip that segment.

And obviously SOMEBODY must've called the police at some point, come on.
Obviously the girl that was taken was in distress, but the other people there were victims too. You cannot expect them to act on their best conscience.
i think it's weird that people assume that because that woman was outside it meant she couldn't have just called the police a few seconds earlier or that someone else in the house could've been doing that at the same time. i'd assume the guy (husband?) prob called the police, since he only appears a bit later to get in the car

@@kal9728 yeah.
Hooboy. I grew up like that too and there was always a quarter in the kitchen drawer in case my dad got violent and i had to call the police. Again and again.
I'm really sorry you had to go through that. It's unadulterated pure agonizing terror for a kid and no one deserves that. I remember thinking, on more than a dozen occasions, "well, that does it. She can't have survived this one." Too much for a kid to go through. ((Hugs))

0:37 as someone who has had an audible subscription, I feel its worth mentioning at this moment, that 'yes, credits do role over' however, if you end your subscription all unused credits are dissolved. So if you do have or intend to get an audible membership, be sure to use your credits when you get them, and definitely use them before ending your subscription. Otherwise, you end up literally throwing away the money you spent on the subscription. Something I learned the hard way. I had a lot of credits saved up, because I hadn't decided what I wanted to use them on yet, I ended my subscription because of the economic reasons, and instantly all my saved up credits evaporated. This isn't necessarily on audible, however I do wish they were more clear about this, and it's an easy mistake to make so I wanted to at least warn people so it doesn't happen to them.
