I was a stage manager for a production of Pippin many years ago and had a great time with the show ... however, I've developed the same "oh my" reluctance I feel about "Tomorrow" from Annie. You've put a new smile on my face for the show with this! WTG.
YES. We put on Pippin in 2000, and our Pip was notorious for Ken Marino energy back then(we all grew up on The State). I got to play Lewis. One of the best times of my life. Thank you so much for this. 🤘🦆
I’m 59 years old and, admittedly, was not exposed to much culture in NW Florida during the 1970s. This song, and your band’s rendition of it was fantastic!
OMG I’m a Baltimore Orioles fan, and at the start of every game, when the scoreboard would come on promptly at 7 pm. this song would come on! and for many years I never knew it was from a Broadway show! late 80s-early 90s. Thanks for the memories!
I loved MADJB the first time I saw them on UA-cam (Born to Run I believe), but now I ADORE them since they covered this song. Brings back a lot of memories for this MAD (at the upper end of that designation), and is a great song from a GREAT play.
Argh! Me too...This has become an ear worm, and I'm now convinced that MADJB has discovered some sort of auditory human catnip...I keep coming back to play the video! Is it because I'm a middle-aged dad myself???
You are all killing it! This channel should have a million subscribers. Requests? Moondance by Van Morrison. I think the piano player would be great for that.
Good work gents, this was unexpected and delightful. It also sent me right over to re-watch the 2013 Tonys opening number, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris in an utter tour-de-force of talent and skill. He also had magic to do!!
Another awsome performance from this awesome band. I need to find one more reason to call them awesome so I can say they have a triple A rating! Which they well and truly deserve!
Wonderful! Love Pippin and this song in particular. You guys really felt it. How about Day by Day from Godspell? Another great song from that era that has a great build, too.
Have you heard the cover of Day by Day by Cud? Also, Ken and David did a sort of cover of Day by Day at the end of their sketch "the jew the Italian and the red-head gay"
Ok, so this explains the playing cards on the floor in the "Jackie Wilson Said" video. :) This is the first song I haven't recognized, but I'm loving the variety
Back in college, I used to play my LP of Godspell a lot in my dorm room. One day as it was finishing, one of my roommates announced, "And now, for the _opposing_ viewpoint!" and put his copy of Jesus Christ Superstar on the turntable. :-)
Never in a million years would I have guessed this was the next song.
Now, what do you think the next one is?
@@DavidWainTube ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ by Big Bird
@@DavidWainTubeBikini Girls with Machine Guns by the Cramps 😉
(Nothing But) Flowers - Talking Heads@@DavidWainTube
@@CheezyNub Yes! I second this suggestion
So freaking good!!!!! I can't stop watching this!!!!!!

The opening song to the greatest Broadway show of all time performed by the greatest Dad Band of all time.
Literally my favorite song ever written
As a kid who did the box step and the kick-ball-change in the background of this musical in high school, this hit SO HARD.
I did not expect to listen to Pippen for the first time when I woke up this morning.
How did your day end up going?
@@DavidWainTube Better than expected!

Bravo! Not the usual cover-band fodder. I think I spot some former theater nerds!
Outstanding!!!!!!
One of my all time favorite musicals. I got walking pneumonia and worked 14 hours a day on our college production but it was 💯 worth it.

What a cool thing!
Omg!! This is amazing!! I watch it over and over! Question... do any of you have Broadway show experience? You must have!
What a great choice. Unexpected and delightful.
Some of my favorite people doing a song from one of my favorite shows.
#1 I freaking love this song
#2 Please Cover Mr. Roboto
OMG NO WAY. I would have never guessed. I love this Musical AND song soooo much. Great job!

I hate how much this has been stuck in my head for the last week.

Well, this was an unexpected but pleasant addition to the Yacht Rock lineup!
Obvs a bunch of theatre kids here.

I have yet to watch one of these and not have my mood improved by it.
Best complement imaginable
I love you guys. You are as good as the original people plus you act like you enjoy yourselves
The girl in the black is my spirit animal in all these videos she’s a treat
This is awesome
Outstanding! Ken is great. He should have gotten into entertainment! 😂
This video has been 50% of the music I listen to since it's release. 25% has been other versions of this song I'd never heard before.
That’s great, but we would prefer if you would just stick to our versions

I don’t know this song. But it feels like a song for a PBS/Childrens Funhouse kinda of 1977 vibe. I love it.
Its giving heavy TSOA circa 1989. Utterly brilliant.
Brilliant! Y'all captured this song in every way!
Great fun to watch and listen! Wishing for an east coast tour date!
Man, wow! What a great call 🤌🏼👏🏼

That was brilliant! I can't stop smiling!!!
LOVE this!!! Thanks for dredging up some great memories for me. You guys ROCK!
Hard to believe I've been singing this for over a half-century now.
Never heard of this song, and I’m old!
Definitely more of this!
I've been HUNTING for a longer cut of your version of this! YESSSSSS!
Was it hard to find!?
Loved doing this song with my choir
Pippin is full of bops. Nicely done!!
Loved the vibe on this one. Another banger.
Loved it. Brought back memories of being in Pippin 30 some odd years ago. Now how about Corner of the Sky?
That was unexpected and amazing!!! ❤❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great job on this !! I did lighting on a couple of productions of this show back in the 1980s. Only thing missing was the fog! Great job!!
I LOVE PIPPIN!
A fantastic cover of a great song!!!! 👏👏👏
Now do “Up, Up and Away” by the Fifth Dimension. 🎈🤩
Fantastic!
You all quite entertaining! Thank you!!!

Day… bidet.

Ooh, that'd be a good one. Same composer, too.

Ken should be on Broadway. I'm serious.
I love the twist with the '70s musical. Are you going to do Jesus Christ Superstar next? That show rocks!🎸🎸🎸
