They sure picked the right person for the evaluation. Can’t wait to see the results. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man! I hope I can get some seat time in this machine in the near future. Glad you think I'm a worthy candidate to test it out!
It's always great to see something new coming on to the market I hope they do real good it looks very promising I'm looking to get one are they for sale in the United States yet are they still testing it
Guys can anyone help , how do you know the difference between the gen 1 and gen 2 models with cvtech. What are the benefits of this and should we stay clear of gen 1 models. Many thanks.
Did you manage to test drive this machine? Interested to see how it did as I'm in the market for a sxs.
do all machines have shocks so exposed to a rollover or flip over
I want this to come out
Interesting, im watching. Off the hop I'd rather see full doors and the shock resouvers re positioned or put somewhere else so they don't catch brush, damage from roll over or in the way of rear window or spare tire carrier. Like the direct drive over cvt. It was hard to spend 30k+ on a pro xp with a rubber band that drives it
Now that the real hybrid is out let's see that review
Good video. It’s just a matter of time but I believe until fully electric versions are available from the big names this won’t be a winner winner chicken dinner.
Weight and range challenges will be the road blocks temporarily. Same as Tesla experienced out of the gate. Battery technology is in high demand to improve and lots of resources going into it as we speak.
Kinda reminds me of the transition from 2 stroke to 4 stroke. Just took time.
Ya, any big transition like this will take time. Regardless of how things play out it will be interesting! There is no doubt that with current battery tech a full EV model SXS or ATV would have a very limited market.
If the price was right and there was a 4 seater I’d would have take. This over my 21’ XP4. Hope the aftermarket fills in the gaps.
Gas and electric should be powerful!!! When you drive it, treat it like the #BATTLEWAGON .. I wouldn't expect anything else.. Great stuff!!!
I couldn't hold back if I tired... I don't posses that type of self control, LOL! I beat on the Villain 1000 pretty hard the first few times I drove it so I'll have to test this one in the same manner. However, the true test will come when I get these units out on our trails with the rest of the crew. I can't wait to put them up against the other machines. I think the Villain 1000 should manage just fine and the Hybrid likely will too. But lets just wait and see!
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd I agree! I'm anxious to see them in the field! That's the real test! A real beat down tells long tales!! We'll see.. Thanks for the awesome content!!
@@sxsoutcast7651 Glad you are enjoying all the recent content man! You know I'll give them a good test ;) ;)
Interesting. Cruising around in the woods with mostly just the sounds of nature sounds fun. However, in previous discussions of electric ATVs & UTVs, some people have pointed out that the noise of a gas engine is often your first warning that there is an oncoming vehicle approaching when sight lines are poor. Quiet, fast, 2,000 lb vehicles traveling towards each other on a twisty trail can be a dangerous situation. I know you and your crew sometimes really rip though the woods, and have often been accused of being unsafe in the comments. In some of those cases, you can probably be heard from miles away, due to the gas engines screaming. Now imagine approaching oncoming traffic much more quietly. It's something to consider. I suppose you could always crank some royalty-free music so people can hear you coming. lol
really want one but maint may be an issue, but if the just the gas parts go u can wrk on those...idk.....
Ya, I think a lot of people have similar thoughts. The Hybrid or in better terms, the electric portions of most production hybrid cars have proven to be quite reliable. As long as the unit is well cooled and well sealed from the elements I don't see many issues. The gasoline engine on this unit is like any other engine so maintenance shouldn't be an issue on that end.
Belo carro .
Did they tell you what size the battery pack is? Volts/amps
No. I don't know any specs on the batteries unfortunately and the website doesn't list anything either yet.
Im curious to try one. Any idea when they plan to come to the states?
Hey Chad, I'm guessing time frames are similar in Canada and the States. The ATV's are already selling quite well in Canada from what I've heard but the SXS's are still pre-production models. I think we should see production models available for purchase around spring of next season. Don't quote me on that but from what I've heard that's the estimated time frame.
Canam had an electric sxs back in 2012 an Polaris has a ranger as well
Ya, I'm aware of the electric ranger. Polaris actually owns GEM electric vehicles and has for quite some time. I believe they have been using electric rangers for a while in various industrial settings and in the mining industry. Wasn't aware of the electric Can-Am though. What model was it?
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd was the commander came in white in 2012
@@ricos_bardan2450 That's super cool. They only made it for one year? I'm gonna have to look into that.
Hope you got to drive one . let us get a honest review . Also some Comparison to some of the current model sxs's how there right now . Good review of this unit . Im not sold on it at all . I dont think i would trade my current sxs in for one but maybe you can prove me wrong . How does it handle in water and mud ?
I'm hoping I get to take it for a good ride soon. My goal is to get it out on our trails with all the other machines and see how it stacks up in the real world. In all honesty, I wouldn't trade my RZR turbo for one either but it would definitely be a really cool secondary machine. Now if Segway Powersports wanted to give me a demo for a season or something, I would have no issues using it and testing it for them.
Yes they need to give you one !
@@bradcox4864 that would be awesome! I would definitely test every aspect of it, lol.
Have they even sold the first models? I haven't seen any except for ur channel and that was a demo unit ?
Hey, so the short answer to that is no. They have not sold any SXS's yet. The ATV's are already selling quite well in Canada from what I've heard but the SXS's are still pre-production models. I think we should see production models available for purchase around spring of next season. Don't quote me on that but from what I've heard that's the estimated time frame. I'm hoping the meet their deadlines because I'm excited to see another player enter the market.
No doubt it's way out of my price range. Tech and innovation is never affordable.
Innovation and new tech always come at a cost. It's not for everyone. Some people love being on board early and others choose to wait and watch.
awesome!
Thanks man! It's definitely a unique and interesting machine!
anyone know how to fix or who to call to fix leaking Bronco brand shocks?
They are disposable shocks to be honest. Bronco shocks are budget bin components. I doubt rebuild parts are available. You could call the place you bought them and see if they are open to replacing them under warranty. I doubt any rebuilder would play around with those but you could call some shops and ask.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd thanks J. yea my OEM shocks sukd, these actually worked well and soaked up the rough better, but 2 leaks....
FINALY THE PEFECT DRIVE SXSTEM, took a loooong time ! if you have influance, thn they need to woerk right away on seatpoition like can am and a rearl bed like tectronxx ore speed, if then the supension gets compatipal and 230-250 horses, then this will be BEST machine on market !!!! i would by right away,,, keep us postet !!!
Wheres te vid
Are you ever going to look at the Segway Fugleman?
Yup. Got a video shot of it. I’ll be posting it in the next little while.
Segway need to bring out a 4 seater.
I like what I see with the hybrid technology! If there's no issues with the batteries, when submerged in water, then they've got a solid product on their hands.
I would assume they considered all of that. I believe that the battery packs are weather sealed as a unit. I haven't gotten a chance to really inspect that aspect of the machine. I'm hoping I can get a look at that next time I have access to it. I'm super interested to see how this thing performs.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd I look forward to those videos!
@@ryanfillmore as do I man.... you know I'm gonna have to try submersing it... lol.
Get in and hammer down.. perfect weather.
You know me, I don't care what the weather is like, I'm always down to ride! Couldn't just jump in and rip it right away unfortunately. It's the only unit in North America right now and they want to do all their publicity stuff before they let me open her up, lol. I've been promised that I'll be one of the first ones to get a chance to test it though! I can't wait. I have no idea what to expect.
Thanks for checking out the video! This video is a little different then our usual uploads but I think it's super cool. Say what you want about Hybrid's in the off-road world but regardless of your views it's an interesting machine that is sure to stir things up. Leave a comment and let everyone know what you think about this machine. I can't wait to get a chance to ride this thing and really see what Segway Powersports brought to the table. The true test will be to see how this machine works on the trails! Keep an open mind guys, lets give this some time and see where things go. It's been fun trying out all of these new machines from Segway Powersports lately. I'm really pumped that Segway Powersports Canada has included me in the testing of all these new units! I love trying new machines and comparing them to what's already out there. As always, I've tried to be as honest and unbiased as I can. Can't wait to read everyone's comments! #AdrenalineJunkieProd
Whers the new vid?😩😭
That much power can't go rong
BIGGEST problem i see here is, YOU cant work on this machine. The electric hardware is deadly and you have to have special tools to work on it any time there is a issue you have to de-energize the machine to work on it. THAT is a huge problem for probably 90% of the consumers of these products. WE love to mod and work on our own things.. i see this being more NICHE than the yxz has been. NOT many sold because really not many care about the machine and what it has to offer.
You make some excellent points. I didn't even think about that. I know for a fact I like to do all the work on my machines myself. I guess the big factor here will be seeing how reliable the electronics and the electric motors are. Generally speaking electric motors are very low maintenance. As long as they keep the motor cool and sealed from the elements it could prove to be very reliable. If you run into issues related to suspension or other wear items I don't see it being a big deal. I'd argue that the majority of the work and mods most users do are not related to the engine or transmission.
i wonder if you would even need to do maintenance on the electric drivetrain though. electric powertrains in cars have proven to be quite durable.
@@boxr_4214 ya, that was my thought process in my above response to M K. As long as the unit is well sealed from the elements and well cooled it should prove to be very reliable. The life cycle of a well built electric motor is incredibly long. This is one of those things we will need time to prove. I also look forward to learning a bit more about the specifications of the batteries and the motors.
2 years ago. I hope they didn't shelve this for the Super Villain. This is the machine I want.
I believe this version of the hybrid did get shelved. I heard through the grapevine that they were having a ton of issues and bugs. I’m guessing that the super villain will likely be the hybrid version. Don’t quote me on that, it’s just speculation on my end.
So wonder what happened when HOT electric motor gets hit by COLD water.. CVT explode when this happens would be something to see.
I guess we will have to wait and find out, lol. I'd be willing to bet Segway has done extensive testing on things like that.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd I know that train motors are senstive to temprature changes an can crack
@@wraith511802003 Hmmmm, can't say I know too much about that. In theory it makes sense, I'm sure its a variable. I would assume that the drive motor is encased in a protective shell sealed from the elements and from what I understand it has its own cooling system. If all that functions correctly they may avoid this issue. Once again, just speculation on my end. Time will tell.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd Intrestng.. make sure your moto oil is topped off.. LOL one more thing to worry about. but neat none the less..
Beginning of the end of SxS’s/UTV’s. Unless you like driving them in a parking lot or 10 acres of property. This is precursor of all electric SxS. Imagine this or all electric at Windrock or other (Real) off-road parks. What I just said along with a lot of the comments already. Maintenance logistics etc. Hopefully you will get to dog it out. That would be fun to watch. Other than that a Big NO Way
I appreciate what it is and I think an all electric SXS would also be insane if built right. At a park like wind rock or brimstone an electric SXS could conquer some serious terrain but like anything there are pros and cons. I don't see this as an end to the SXS or UTV anytime soon. I feel this will become a small niche of the market, especially in the initial years. Slowly the segment will grow but I don't see it being adapted widely in the short term.
Did you write that or did Segway write your comment. You would have to air lift a electric machine to the major obstacles at the parks I speak of. Even have to trailer them to the ones right off the gravel roads that are way out there. They wouldn’t make it back to the campground. Even Tesla can only make 3 or 4 passes on a drag strip in (ludicrous mode) lol without charging. Anyway, still hope you get to dog this thing out on even your local trail. Like to see it in deep water creeks and snow. Lol
@@enjoylife6311 I see your point with an all electric unit. But series hybrids are very common in Heavy duty land. You know those mega dump trucks that CAT and Komatsu make? They are all series electric hybrids. They run on diesel all the time but the electric motors are what turn the massive tires. The potential here is pretty potent in the side by side market if done right. I encourage people to look up series hybrid vs parallel hybrid and actually look into the technology. I always wondered if someone would ever attempt to do this.
@@enjoylife6311 I'm not arguing your point on the fact that most electric vehicles these days have the issue of not having the range required for many uses. The example you use of the Tesla in ludicrous mode is a good one. If you want the max performance out of a full electric vehicle then unfortunately you only get it for a brief period and then its a constant decline. Take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm playing a bit of a devils advocate here. You won't catch me lining up to replace my RZR Turbo with an electric SXS. Regardless of the many pitfalls that this tech has at the moment it will be fun to experiment with this machine and dog on it like you said. I'm interested to see how the batteries would function in cold winter conditions like you mention. Sometimes we ride when its -20C out and getting to the trail requires an hour or more on the trailer at highway speeds with wind-chill. There are a ton of variable to consider here, this is an endless conversation... lol.
@@Bryngasm I agree with you 100% Just think of a diesel locomotive. Massive diesel generators powering huge electric motors. You cannot beat the torque output and efficiency of an electric motor. I was super excited to see that this machine utilizes a series hybrid setup. Like you said and I have mentioned in other comments, there is a ton of potential here if executed correctly. It's cool to see this kind of innovation in the industry. It will be interesting to see how these evolve and if any of the other brands build competing units.
Look at the welds. Fit and finish is not good.
This will never be available to purchase in the US
Why not?
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd I have contacted Segway about 10 times over the past 10 months and have NEVER heard back from them. I even asked If I could have one delivered from CANADA again no answer. I am ready to buy multiple units and nothing...I have even requested to open a dealership and again no response.
2200 + LBS 😂
All those extra parts add up. It's far from light. We will see how that effects things.
GEEZ... that is KAwazaki large..
@@wraith511802003 So you raise a good point. The KRX is big and it's considered heavy. On technical trails you cannot feel that the KRX is heavy and on technical trails it does not feel underpowered at all.
That’s not to bad for carrying a big battery pack
@@Kryptkeeper911 I agree. The battery pack is in the front of the machine too so it will shift some weight forward.
These look like they're for rich folk on the golf course 🤷🤭... It's already hard enough to keep your gasser RZR going if you put the meat to it all the time... Then you add all this electrical stuff with it? Nehhh! I'm sure they are quick on the take off though for boring azz drag races... And are they tuneable?
All valid concerns man. Don't think they would be happy to see a few of these show up at a golf course though.... damn would that be fun...LOL. As for tuning, experience tells me that people will figure out how to tune or modify anything. Look at how many people have adapted the tesla powertrain for various swaps. There are a lot of smart people out there who love a challenge. In the end I feel a huge defining factor will be how many units they can produce and sell. Market saturation plays a large roll in aftermarket development of any product.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd right on. If they don't sell units there will be no aftermarket parts for them. This being such a unique unit they better have a ton of upgrades to push out there as well to sell units in the first place. Upgrades and customization are such a big part in buying any sxs. Someone will really test the limits on them and we'll see how it goes 👍
THUMBS UP if you think HYBRID SXS's have a future.
Series hybrids like this one make a lot of sense for off road units you can eliminate drive shafts front and rear. Power the rear diff only and actually run a smaller battery pack than you would have to run if it was parallel hybrid. You no longer require ring and pinions on the differentials if it's designed properly. The plus side is it's instant full power and torque if you want it no lag. Edit plus all the positives mentioned in the video.
@@Bryngasm Ya, there is some serious potential here. This is just the initial stage, it will evolve from here. I'd like to learn more about the transmission and powertrain. There are only very basic details available right now. Electric power is incredible if it's utilized properly. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store.
I would only buy of it was 100% electric. So many benefits over fuel. Hybrid no for me. Awesome start tho. 👍
@@swedenrc4489 hybrid is more reliable if imagine, less batteries is a plus i think it's best to go hybrid until portable power technology improves
Biggest issue...made in CHINA

I never claim to drive it… lol.
Itsagood idea considering that. Biden wants to go all green. No more gas vehicals

@@AdrenalineJunkieProd i hear u but hes already haveing airplanes built and other vehicals i was gonna go out and buy a 2022 polaris 900 trail untill i heard about this shit
@@patflinn5224 I don't see that as sustainable or realistic. Especially not for offroad or remote areas. I don't think it's a risk for the near future.
