Nice idea. Because I prefer matte finish rather than shiny, I start with medical tape (or Scotch removable) applied to wax paper or freezer paper. Then i paint backgrounds let dry and stamp over that with perm inks. Works great for me.

This is one of my favourite technique, I usually apply gilding flakes to the parts that remain sticky but love the idea of attaching the tape to some text paper too Happy crafting, Angela xXx

Gilding flakes are a great idea! I bet this technique would work wonderfully with those tiny dusty bits of gilding flakes we end up with.

Very beautiful! I do genuinely wonder though, what are the benefits of using the plate vs going straight to paper. I’m sure there are many, but I just can’t think of any. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! :)

The tape is clear so you can see the background paper through it. It's like using your own washi tape.

Because you can use the tape in a journal, you don't have to apply paper to the tape.
