      I don't know... she called the placebo group the test group, and called anecdotal evidence "antidotal" evidence. Hm.

    • @tima2553
      @tima2553 4 роки тому

      L Nott what’s your point? Genuinely asking.

    • @azur677
      @azur677 4 роки тому +3

      @@tima2553 @Tima the point they we're making might be about the fact that in the way she put the information it's not really accurate phrased. I know it's phrase in a shady way and i think if you want to correct someone this is not the wright way, anyone can mix up things sometime, tho the things this person is pointing out are irelevant to the subject video. If you are also looking for an explination about what was wrong in calling the testing group a placebo group i'll add one, if not there is no point in keep reading my comment. If you do a clinical study it's best to use a control group, a test group and a placebo group to see if the product/medication you're testing is really working or it's just a placebo effect. So in the control group there is noting given to the group, the testing recives what we test and the placebo group just thinks they recive it, but there are not. If you have only control and placebo you don't really say much about the effect of the thing you are testing. So presebting the testing group as a placebo group is not correct cuz they have different roles. So the point of mentioning it should be about correcting this info not just pointing out sone little mistakes like this, as i said it's not relevant to the subject of the video tho. Sorry for writing a novel :))

      Cassandra, actually you can’t absorb collagen by eating. It is gonna break into little molecules and after, those are gonna or transform into collagen or some other protein.

    I LOVE my jade roller. I don’t expect it to do anything other than massage my face, and it’s amazing for when I’m on my period or hungover and my face is puffy. I will say, if I had expected it to do any more than massage away some puffiness, or if I had spent more money on it than I did, I would have been hugely disappointed. But it is a lovely thing to have

    I got a jade roller as a gift, 2 years ago. Thinking it was just junk, never even opened it. Finally opened it last month. I love it! It feels so good when you done over eye gel patches. I do believe that it helps move lymph. Also what's wrong with doing it just because it feels good, that will increase endorphins and overall reduce stress, which is very inflammatory. So anyone that wants to get on with their jade roller self, get into it!!

    I have taken collagen supplement for years and it really helps my skin firmer and bouncier. It doesnt help with acnes or make my skin smooth and glow but I can definitely tell the difference when I'm not taking it. And it's not only my skin but my hair which is much less falling off and my nail too which is also harder. So I don't think collagen supplement is totally crap at all! At least for me! Still, I do love your videos, very informative and educational.

      ScottyMcLagan I have the same experience. What amazes me is how many beauty gurus who have credentials poo poo it because they cannot find a scientific study to support the results you and I have. Why not listen to the crowds using it and saying it works, start some legit scientific studies and become famous? It works for many people... they will be surprised and be able to have their research quoted all over the place.

    I love how all of the companies are advertising their ridiculously expensive collagen products (beauty products in general) using a 20-something model with awesome skin or an older celebrity person who obviously had some insanely expensive procedures done.
    On the other side, I started taking gelatine powder (5€ for 250gram) for my joints 6 months ago and my overall health improved, not like WOW but I'm noticing the tiny difference. My doc said that proline and hydroxyproline in it MIGHT also be benefitial for my skin.

    Please Refer to Dr. Anthony Youn yt vids, the collagen supplement (a good quality one) may really work, whereas a cream collagen is indeed a large molecule which does NOT break the skin barrier. He really gives a calm, kind, and intelligent presentation of facts by a dermatologist who really understands the body’s skin. He has his own line of products, but what is so cool is this: he gives equal or more time to other products he recommends.
    PS. Keep your jade/crystal roller in the freezer overnight so in the morning, you roll under eyes and it helps reduce puffiness (so does cold cucumber slices).

      They probably saw great benefits because they were lacking in their diet somewhere. Your body is going to try and utilize anything you ingest. Not a bad thing. Supplementation if you know what actually works, and what helps it work. For instance Vitamin D3 needs Vitamin K. For every potassium you intake you lose 2 magnesium. Some vitamins don't even work. You don't need to take oral vitamins daily, that a multivitamin a week would be soo much better. Unless you have a deficiency that prevents you from absorbing them well.

      One of my best friends is a hair stylist and has been doing my hair for 13 years. I started adding collagen to my morning coffee and didn’t tell her. I could tell a difference in my hair and nails but I wanted to see if she could. As she was cutting my hair she said “Your hair has changed! What have you been doing?”. I was like, “I KNOW!” She has started using it now as well..

      K DP almost the same story. My hairstylist wanted to know for her mother who is younger than me but she said looked much older. She saw the change in my hair and skin over a years time and wanted to get it for her mother. Also, I moved and had quit taking it for about 3 months and my hair started shedding so bad. It took about a month of taking it consistently to get it from shedding so much. It’s back to being full and the new growth is so strong and thick shafts. I don’t need a study to tell me if it works.

    Hello! Thank you for this video! I would love a pt2 to this video because there are a lot of videos going up right now advertising different skin care routines. I’ve been seeing everyone raving about facial steamers in their amazon haul videos and I’m so tempted to buy it because I’m trying to improve my skin over this quarantine. I have large pores very oily skin and I’m acne prone but sometimes I do feel my skin is dull and dry. Are facial steamers a plus or a negative in a skin care routine? 😊

    Collagen is amazing for my joints. I didn't see changes with my skin, nail or hair which is why I started taking it. About 6 months later when I was going to stop taking because I saw no change then I realized when I woke up my joints weren't tight anymore. So it is great for that at least for me.
