The master has the foundation ( a mix of crest and circuits of a lot of knowledge) He than passes it down to one of his student who had to literally carry it on their shoulder becoming the next foundation. It's like a generational thing but we have no more information on how and why they do so it's pretty neat though

I really like clock tower as a point of worldbuilding, feels like exactly what mages would make, a real school that in every way looks functional but is actually just a place where people who are already powerful try and flex themselves. (Before you get the way too powerful people that absolutely everyone in clock tower wants dead and they scram)
One thing I'm curious about is how magecraft is kept secret in the various fate timelines for example how difficult would it be for a very wealthy and smart person to find out about and expose magecraft to the general public.
Also locked up and they also hire independent contractors like Kiritsugu and Natalia aka spellcasters as a last good measure. Last resort is the church. They hate heretics so yeah it's hard to escape Clocktower

You pretty much have to be at your A Game at Clock Tower, especially once you get through everything to get in and even stepping foot there. Cutthroat is pretty much an understatement on how ruthless even being there can be, especially if you want to become more of an adept mage.
It could of been better if they adapted the first couple of novels too but I enjoyed it regardless. My favorite episode was when luvia got stuck in a bounded field
I love Case Files. I really hope theres a season 2 so they can adapt the arc that goes to Gray's hometown and explores her backstory. That's my favorite part of the books.

How do you get to Atlas or Wandering sea if clock tower is hard? One question have you seen Irregular at magic high? Do you think it's magecraft system could be implemented in Typemoons future? It's kinda very close to what fate Extella does
Pretty sure you can just join the Atlas Academy if you have the traits they're looking for, though extremely eccentric they're more tolerant than the Clock Tower. The Sea of Estray is by invite only and they shun most modern magecraft.
@@AlexKlindt The drawback with atlas academy is less how to enter(they don't have much requirement on circuit quality) and more that you can't leave once you are in: Even though they are chill do you really want to live your entire life doing research in some high tech cave in Egypt?

I left a comment on an earlier video asking about Mystery so I'm glad you covered it a bit in this video, but I'm confused as to whether or not Mystery and its dampening effects relative to how many people know of magical things applies to creatures like Dead Apostles. Wouldn't it behoove the church to inform EVERYONE of the existence of vampires if doing so would theoretically make them weaker? Or better yet fade from existence?
The human mindset won't allow common humans to believe their existence. It's like even if you believe in God, if someone said they have seen a ghost, you would laugh at them. Both are supernatural entities yet it is difficult to take ghost seriously. In your mind you would think It might have some scientific explanation for ghost even when you yourself believe in god.
One of the things that are great about the Nasuverse is that, you don't just immediately become a Badass, or if you do, you're in for some great consequences (Turning into Swords)
I have a question do young Maguses have to go to the Clock Tower from what you've said and from what other commenters have said trying to get an education from there seems why too dangerous and not really worth the risk unless you need to learn something very specific from there you would think Magi families would just train their heirs at home where it's safer for them to learn without the fear and stress of being backstabbed.

@yamawama From the Type-Moon wiki , it's stated that Waver dislikes the Japanese because of his experience from the 4th Holy Grail War, but he does enjoy Japanese video games. Moreover, he tries to ask/talk to Rin about video games/Akihabara and since she doesn't know anything about video games, Waver proceeds call Rin "The worst Japanese I have ever met." In the anime, Waver doesn't have any animosity to the Japanese and actually respects Japanese maguses like Rin.
