I remember watching this movie 'The Great Gambler' as a child but did not find it anything special but when I watched it recently I simply loved it. For Amitabh Bachchan fans this is a must watch!!!
The great gambler flopped at box office but is an excellent entertainer a well directed movie with some excellent melodious highly popular songs, shot at exotic locations of Rome, Egypt,Venice, Lisbon... I still enjoy it must have seen it more then 10 times... Watch it for total entertainment

Saw it in 1979 at cinema hall by bribing the gate man as it was for adults and I was not adult..seeing it now after long time... I don't understand why was it classified as Adult by the censor board...
The cinematography is of world class even of today's time. Thinking it of 1970's era, the movie music, direction, budget and cinematography is way ahead of it's time. I came for the song 'do lafzo ki hai zindgani' and loved the whole movie. 🥰❣️ Zeenat aman reminds me of my girlfriend and I imagine her as sitting with my gf in the godola and sailing through the song in the Grand Canal of Venice 💞🎶💕☺ 😇
Amitabh used to look vv Handsome in those days as he used look vv slim and now also he looks so Smart😊😊I liked his acting in the film Naseeb and Muqaddar ka Sikander also🤗🤗🤗🤗😎😎

Wow this film was so familiar but it took me almost 2 hours into it to figure out it was one of the films I watched as a child. Also check out Muqaddar Ka Sikandar. Also by Amitabh. Both are great 1970s movies, I will look up his other 1970s movies. It felt so good to have my childhood flash before my eyes

Good entertaining movie with all the hindi movie components of drama, family reunion, comedy, action :) One particularly funny scene in the last action sequence at "boss ka adda", the guard by the door (utpal dutt/boss asks him to open the door while escaping with zeenat) had a gun, but was just standing there and watching everyone else fight :D looks like he wasn't paid well enough !!
gambler,bambler,shambler,rambler.no end to this babble in a double length movie with a double role.all the masala of past movies comes together in this movie which is still ok,ok till 2.10 after which it is a pain.even otherwise the movie gets charming only after 1.10 with the entry of Neetu Singh who plays the role given to her very nicely. Zeenat Aman also is quite impressive. the villains except Utpal Dutt are also quite ok. the 4 songs are pretty good and one can say save the movie. 4,5/10
