Many malayalees are eagerly waiting to try their luck in the american dream.But is it a better option for a malayali to come to USA and settle down here? How much a malayali can save by working here in USA? What are the pros and cons of american life? In this video, I am sharing my personal experiences as an american malayali.

Good video, good assessment of life here in US. As someone residing in Long Island, NY for the last 25 years, and as someone who has travelled quite a bit around the world, I can say few things. One, there is no other country in the world where the average, middle class leads such a high standard of living. There are people in Kerala who live in absolute luxury, but for that you need to be really wealthy either through business or inheritance. And it is only for a select few. But here in US the average middle class family can afford a lifestyle of a decent home, one car per family member, good food and living conditions. Second, there is always upward mobility. You come here, you start low but you move up. If you have the drive, the ambition and willing to work hard you will certainly move up. That is the story of millions of immigrants who came to these shores from all over the world throughout the last 250+ years of this nation's history.

It s our 16th year here in the US , as we came from Dubai , initially it was a bit difficult to get adjusted to this fast track life , but in the end the way you live is up to to you . As an American Malayalee - Pros : Have lot of freedom to do whatever I want to do. No one is going to question. Have done different jobs. Lot of good friends who help without expecting anything back.
Cons: Miss parents, get together with family and siblings. Beautiful Kerala landscape and food. Also high medical bills even if you have insurance.
Cons: 90% packed foods!

Well said shinoth ചേട്ടാ..സത്യം പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഇന്ന് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ എന്നെ സ്വാധീനിക്കുന്ന ഒരേയൊരു യൂട്യൂബർ താങ്കൾ ആണ്.ഞാൻ ആർമിയിലാണ്, പ്രവാസിയൊന്നും അല്ലെങ്കിലും ഏറെക്കുറെ നമ്മളൊക്കെ ഒരേ തോണിയിലെ യാത്രക്കാർ തന്നെയാണ്.മറ്റൊരു തരത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞാൽ സ്വന്തം വീടുവിട്ട് മറുനാട്ടിൽ പോയി കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് ജീവിതം മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നവർ.സാമ്പത്തികമായി ഒരുപാട് പച്ചപ്പിടിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും ഏറെക്കുറെ മാന്യമായ രീതിയിലേക്ക് ഉയർന്നു വരാൻ എനിക്ക് സാധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ചേട്ടൻ പറഞ്ഞത് എത്ര വാസ്തവം ആണെന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്, നമ്മൾ കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് കുറച്ചു stability നെടുമ്പോൾ ഇതേപോലെ പലയിടത്തും നമുക്ക് തിരിച്ചടി നേരിടേണ്ടി വരുന്നുണ്ട്, കടം ചോദിക്കൽ ആണ് ഇതിലെ പ്രധാന വില്ലൻ ആർക്കൊക്കെ കൊടുത്തു എന്നല്ലാതെ ആരൊക്കെ തിരിച്ചു തരുന്നു എന്നത് വളരെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കാറുണ്ട്. കൊടുക്കാതിരുന്നാലോ പിന്നെ കുറ്റവും കുറവുകളുമായി,പലയിടത്തും നിന്നും ലോൺ അടവും ലീവിന് വരുമ്പോഴുള്ള കുറച്ചു നല്ല നാളുകൾക്കായുള്ള അടിച്ചുപൊളിയും ഒക്കെ ആകുമ്പോൾ വരുന്ന പൈസ തീർന്നു പോക്കറ്റ് കാലിയായി പോകേണ്ടി വരുന്ന അവസ്ഥ പറഞ്ഞറിയിക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല.. അന്നു ആ സമയത്തു 100 രൂപയുടെ വില നന്നായി തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നുണ്ട്.. ആ സമയത്തും കടം ചോദിച്ചു ചെന്നാൽ പിന്നെ പിന്നെ അല്ലാതെ സമയത്ത് ഉപകാരപ്പെടാൻ മാത്രം ഒന്നും കിട്ടാറില്ല.. പിന്നെ വരുന്ന സാലറിക്ക് കണ്ണും നട്ടു കാത്തിരിക്കലാണ് ശരാശരി.. ആർമിക്കാരുടെ അവസ്ഥ.. ഏകദേശം ആ ബാധ്യത ഒക്കെ തരണം ചെയ്ത് വരുമ്പോൾ അടുത്ത ലീവ് ആയിട്ടുണ്ടാകും,അതിനിടക്കാണ് പലരുടെയും വക കടം ചോദിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് ഉള്ളതുപോലെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതും, but ആരോട് പറയാൻ ആര് കേൾക്കാൻ... കൂടാതെ ഇതിനിടക്കാണ് ചേട്ടന് അമേരിക്കക്കാരനായത് കൊണ്ടു നേരിടേണ്ടി വരുന്ന അതെ അനുഭവങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങൾ പട്ടാളക്കാർക്കും നേരിടേണ്ടി വരുന്നത്.. ഈ വീഡിയോ അത്രയ്ക്കും related ആയതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഇതൊക്കെ പറയേണ്ടി വന്നത്.. ബോർ ആയെങ്കിൽ വായിക്കുന്നവർ ക്ഷമിക്കണം.. പിന്നെ shinoth ചേട്ടന്റെ contents വളരെ മികച്ചതാണ്.. ഓഫീസിൽ നിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി ബസ്സ്റ്റാൻഡിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ 5 മണി കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു. പച്ച കളറുള്ള ഈ ബസ് അപ്പോൾ വരുന്നത് കണ്ടു. മുകളിൽ പെട്ടികളും വലിയ പ്ളാസ്റ്റിക് പായകളും എല്ലാമുണ്ട്. ഈ ബസ് വരുംപോൾ പോർട്ടർ മാരും ടാക്സി ഡ്രൈവർ മാരും പൊതിയും. കുറച്ച് യാത്രക്കാർ മാത്രമേ ഇറങ്ങാൻ ഉള്ളൂ.
റേബാൻ ഗ്ളാസും ഹാൻഡ് ബാഗും സ്ററിറിയോ സെറ്റും ഒരു ഡ്യൂട്ടി ഫ്രീ ഷോപ്പ് ബാഗുമായി ഒരു യാത്രക്കാരൻ തിരക്കിൽ വളരെ പാട് പെട്ട് ഇറങ്ങി വന്നു, മുകളിലെ ലഗേജിലേക്ക് കണ്ണോടിച്ചു. ആരോ ഹാൻഡ് ബാഗിൽ പിടിത്തം ഇട്ടു, ഒരു ടാക്സിയിലേക്ക് ക്ഷണിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.
