Thanks so much to my patrons Luisa and David for requesting this song! If anyone else has a song they would like for me to teach, send me your suggestions at: swiftguitar.com/request. Thanks and enjoy your practice!
Man it was my dream to be able to play this song like Elvis does, and you explain it so well! Really glad I found this tutorial, would definitely love to see you do his 68 Guitar man!
Thanks Matthew, this song has been on my personal list for a long time, so glad to have it on my channel. I’ll get back to Elvis soon enough. Thanks for the positive feedback!
@@swiftlessons Walter Egan has been doing his Magnet and Steel acoustically( recent renditions),and this wonderful build up slide. He played bass and keeps his palm close to neck, and has a great walk around from barred A to Bb and slide up to C#m.. EVERYBODY LOVES,but nobody is playing right because must utilize pinky for the Bb(Is a group riff) or cannot get it.. I am close but walk around changes between 6th string on 3rd fret and 5th + 6 th 4th fret on way around from barred A... If you figured it ,you would have a huge gain in subs as many cheesing it.(Nobody is playing it correctly) Some of the old timers even using capo's and cheesing it.. Walter is playing it similar to electric rendition but more depth..Really is spectacular renditions.. If you heard you would have it instantly on your list...This Martin makes its sound so epic Some clips show his hand dead nuts ,but being a bass player once, hard to see due to his style.. If interested, look when he is setting with his back up singer Susan McCluskey or even setting with girl on each side..Standing are his electric renditions.(more flat technique on electric) This and" it's now or never" are great lessons...(As usual with your contributions) Salute From Scranton... Happy 2022!!
You sir are the greatest teacher ever, you taught me and gave me answers that nobody did, no matter how many teachers I went to on the net, books, dvd's and many live teachers that I went to sience 1985, not just this song but every song of yours, so far that I visited, answers that I begged to get, paid to get and never got, your teaching technology should be studied by everyone that I tried to learn from. Thank you so so very much, I am finally taking off musically.
ROBERT You have out done all that i have watched on HOW TO PLAY A SONG on UA-cam. Mathew B has said what i feel. ELVIS had really put his heart into this 68 special. Nothing equals the beat of this number. NW.
Your the best guitar teacher, just got back into it after 40 years. it was almost like learning all over again, but just comes back quicker! Thanks for all your help!
Oh yes! Finally got it! Thank you for the great lesson Rob. I can’t stop playing it! No wonder Elvis played it multiple times during his 68 comeback special show ❤️❤️❤️🕺🏻
This was simply a fantastic lesson, thank you so much for posting. The timing couldn't have been better on the posting of this one...I've been on a serious Elvis and Rockabilly kick. Thanks!!
Love your channel, someone gave me an old guitar for my birthday 3 weeks ago. Been watching you and now I can play the shuffle version of Ain't no sunshine, and im nailing down this one. Absolute beginner with crappy broken basketball fingers. You simply make it easy. When I improve and learn some notation I'll join your Patreon. Thank you.
This is awesome, you made it easy to follow. I'm a huge Elvis fan. And i love this song so much. Thanks for sharing this with us! Elvis is what im starting with learning guitar 😃 Such feel good music.
My fully respect to how you play the guitar, always inspiring to see someone with those impressive skills, looking forward for learning this song. Great video!!
If you notice in Elvis Come back special, he plays the E shuffle with (1) finger which he just slides down from the 2F to the 4th F to the 5th F- and starts back up again. Oppose to our way of holding down the 2nd of the A the 4th of the A and then the 5th of the A. I tried both ways but really can’t tell the difference in sound. Elvis way seems actually a bit easier. Anyhow. Keep up the great work brother !!!
In my opinion it sounds better playing it the way Elvis does. I use my index to play 2 and 4 then middle to play 5 and use my index to play the 4th again and slide back down to the starting position.
Nice blues lesson as always my man! Great help to see, and now I can learn it! Although I was wondering if you could do a lesson eventually on Beth by KISS?
Hey Dave, thanks for checking in and taking the time to comment. Many more lessons are on the way both here and via Patreon.com/Swiftlessons. Let me know if you have any request, I'm always in need of ideas for future videos. Be well. -Rob
Hey Max, so glad you're enjoying this lesson, it was a ton of fun to shoot. Be sure to send me a song request at swiftguitar.com/request. Take care and enjoy your practice. -Rob
Keep those Elvis tunes coming ,by the way could you do the Guetto ,great song ,didn't know this one to be honest and I know lots of Elvis songs ,great lesson
As always, it was an excellent lesson. Any chance you may do a "Ballad of Curtis Loew" lesson. There are others out there on UA-cam already, but your lessons always seem to be the best, especially in this style of playing. Thank you for all that you do.
Glad you're digging this lesson, Elvis had some chops, and a whole lot of vibe, it was a pleasure to break down his riffs and tricks. Feel free to send me a song request at swiftguitar.com/request. Thanks. -Rob
Not at all easy for me. Can play the individual parts but the timing of transitions and converting the intro. to playing with the verse isn't happening as of yet. I assume that the people apparently getting this have significant background.
Hi, I learned a lot from this video Only I don't understand why at minute 8:03 the tablature notation reports alternatively 202 and 2021 when infact you only maintain the same chord full structure 2021 in the UDUDU strumm. Thanks
Thanks so much to my patrons Luisa and David for requesting this song! If anyone else has a song they would like for me to teach, send me your suggestions at: swiftguitar.com/request. Thanks and enjoy your practice!

Elvis does it that way because he never was much of a guitar player. It's poor technique & too much moving of the hand position.
@@miguelfilo962 💯 correct he was average at best knowing only a few basic cords but he sure did rock
@@miguelfilo962 well, Scotty Moore did.
A classic that I must learn. Thanks for that.
