This was such a good ranking video! I instantly subscribed. It's rare I see someone rank the albums of The Cure in a similar way as myself. I discovered The Cure at the age of 14, in 1991, just around the time when a big teenage depression grabbed hold of me for a couple of years. Two albums in particular, Disintegration and Faith, helped me through the depression since they both serve as highly cathartic experiences when listening from beginning to end. If I would have been allowed to, I would have put the Mini-LP The Walk on third place in my ranking. I find songs like Just One Kiss, The Upstairs Room and Lament to be absolutely underrated gems. I have ordered Songs of a Lost World and waiting eagerly to receive it in the mail. Of the songs I have heard from it so far, I believe I will find it their best album since the end of their classic era. But here is my top 7 as it stands today: 7. Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me 6. Wish 5. The Head on the Door 4. Pornography 3. 17 Seconds 2. Faith 1. Disintegration Thank you for a wonderful video!

Agreed that The Top is underrated -- a cool psych album. I think Wish is way overrated, and Wild Mood Swings underrated. I ignored the latter for a long time because I disliked Wish so much, but was shocked by how good it is. I rated the American version of the debut, with the essential singles. In 1989 Disintegration just did not speak to me at all. I thought it was incredibly lame actually, but it's grown on me gradually over the years. 1. Pornography (1982) 2. Faith (1981) 3. More on 1989 -- I was 19, and you know what impossible expectations we all had at that age. I was more into Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Bad Brains, Death, Voivod, Slayer, etc. that year. Kiss Me x3 was a big soundtrack of the summer between hs and college, though some of the tracks were a bit of a slog for me. But the state of my teenage brain probably has a lot to do with why I'll always rate it over Disintegration, and why their goth trilogy was such a revelation that has never stopped being rewarding. A chancy move putting the new one at #4 I know, and hindsight may change things, but for now I do think it's more consistent and heavier and more rewarding than Head on the Door and the others.
I'll always have the trilogy (80-82) in high regard. If I had rated Boys Don't Cry instead of TIB... it would have been higher... not much... but higher.
