Matt's got the hat-trick going, bourbon reviews, diet life coaching, and storytime, I'm loving "Storytime with Matt"..... do your kids dig your storytimes too?......most likely different ones I'm assuming though.
What the heck! Matt you the MAN. ADHD history, is brilliant! Keep the history lessons coming! I can’t understand how you don’t have a million subscribers? Hands down, best channel on UA-cam!
I can just imagine a young Matt playing with his GI Joe's holding two in his hands adding dialogue to both Joe's. "C'mon Joe we've got to get back to base to save Barbi" "No you son of a bitch" we have to hold this hill! And by holding this hill I mean hide under the bed'
I love George Remus story. It's a Classic and the way you told it was extremely entertaining. I also love everything I had from Remus so far. Great job Matt. Cheers!
I greatly appreciate your willingness to publicly state a truth that's a bit taboo these past few years. Most kids do suck because parents have allowed our current culture to call the shots of how to parent and decide for them on what's acceptable and what's not. Old school, old timers unite! 👊
Haven't had a chance to try the Remus Gatsby yet,but the George Remus Bourbon is actually very good for fighting off the sniffles or a scratchy throat.Formerly known as Dr. Bob,the Quack Dr. whose gone to the dogs,I recommend having a pour or two.If that doesn't work, increase your dosage.🦆🐶🐕🐕🦺
Awesome job, Matt. Chuck Cowdery considers the whole branding of George Remus as a bourbon brand a rather unsavory idea. I agree. I am thrilled, you likely used for your references, the book "The Jazzbird" by Craig Holdren. It gives a little life to poor Imogene, and provides a good introduction to Charles Taft, son of a President and US Supreme Court Justice, William Howard Taft and the prosecutor at George Remus's trial. It is a fun read. I ended up working in a building named for his brother, Senator Robert A. Taft. And now, Ross and Squib is aging Remus in Kentucky these days in warehouses that my dogs and I walk past every day. They smell great. The rick houses. not my dogs.
Might be weird to say but I’ve been watching your videos for a while and I’m super encouraged by your weight loss (as a 300+ pound lad myself). Your content is as good as ever, but it makes me proud to see that new face!
The only thing that I would add is that pre-Prohibition, in his early years as a lawyer he actually pioneered the insanity defense, which is now a staple of real-life and courtroom movies...which as you relate, came in handy when he used it on himself a decade or so later. Legend has it that he might have been the inspriation for Jay Gatsby in The Great Gatsby, but it was probably the Black Sox Scandal dude. I still need to watch Boardwalk Empire, as he is a character on there starting in S2. Also lots of good Remus content in the Ken Burns Prohibition doc.
He was pretty amazing though, given all he accomplished. And he didn't just get off with the temporary insanity defense. He pioneered it as a defense attny for his client years earlier. He also set a freezing water endurance record - Lake Michigan, 6hrs in the winter. Crazy!
Hey Matt! Loved the video!! Not really sure how much research you did on Mr Remus so I apologize if I’m repeating what you already know, but most of the tale you tell takes place in Cincinnati, Ohio, which is my home town! George murdered his wife at Eden Park, which is a park about 5 minutes from where my apartment is haha. One of the reasons I think George Remus is the face of the MGP bourbon is that Cincinnati is about 30 to 45 minutes away from the MGP distillery in Lawrenceburg, IN. Fun fact, my high school’s parking lot had a gate to the entrance that was actually a gate from George Remus’ mansion in Cincinnati when they tore it down. Love these videos and love your content, cheers!
Woah. Just picked one up today at the allocated release in Virginia. Based on this review. That is the most I’ve paid for a bottle of whiskey but, well, Jingle Bells Batman Smells. It’s the season, biatches. Normally I have some restraint but this review is pretty darned convincing. “Wow that’s good.” “Delicate perfect delicious thinking sipper.” Can’t wait. 🇺🇸 Would love to see a video of WTWT next to a fire sipping some Gatsby Reserve a la Nick Offerman sipping Lagavulin. Which if you haven’t seen it, well, giddyap, Dudley Do-Right! 😊
Biotch don biotch. INSANE we celebrate this man lol The sad truth that money often equates to justice. Awesome video Matt, really enjoyed this style of content!
Why does whiskey love outlaws? Cause whiskey is the hero we deserve. Outlaws might color outside the lines but they choose what’s right no matter what the “law” says. Might I reference the ultimate outlaw Robin Hood aka the outlaw of alcohol
Well if not for the bootleggers prohibition, may not have been overturned. So they kind of go together like peas and carrots as forest said. A dark history but then again most things people gravitate to has a dark history.
The podcast Stuff You Should Know talked about George Remus on today’s episode about the Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire. I’d never heard Remus’ story before, and now I’ve heard it twice in the same day. What are the odds?
When can the History/Discovery Channel hire Matt for a show called Destination: Whiskey/Bourbon 24/7 so he can go all over America visiting Distilleries and reviewing their products for us?
Crazy how a 14 year old pharmacist could support a family back then. A pharmacist can barely support a family now reguadless of age. To me that says a lot more about how shitty wages are now than how shitty kids are (they always have been)

Now that Drunk History is off the air, we have this to revive the genre. ADHD History. Awesome! 😊
💯% Where's Derek Waters?!?
All I can say is if my history teacher told history like Matty I would have done a lot better in school 😂 looking forward to more of these buddy!
What the heck! Best bourbon and murder story I've heard in a long time, I can't wait for the next episode on ADHD History😃
Matt's got the hat-trick going, bourbon reviews, diet life coaching, and storytime, I'm loving "Storytime with Matt"..... do your kids dig your storytimes too?......most likely different ones I'm assuming though.
Matt is one of the best at the spoken word. If he’s feeling a subject, it’s like he parses it in technicolor. Can you imagine his kids at story time?
Looking DAPPER there WTWT!
Enjoy your videos on these historical figures. Keep them coming. Cheers.
What a story. The delivery was even better. I’m a pharmacist and a cardiologist. I liked the way the story was told. Keep it up.
What the heck! Matt you the MAN. ADHD history, is brilliant! Keep the history lessons coming!
I can’t understand how you don’t have a million subscribers? Hands down, best channel on UA-cam!
Matt.... Storytime is amazing! It's (Matt Porter voice) Freakin' Awesome! Keep up the great work and looking good brohammer!
Todays Teachers could learn a thing or two on presentation… Nice job Mat!! 🥃
Very interesting. Remus was nuts !!
Awesome vid 👊 As a member of the King’s Circle, I was compelled to pour some Gatsby Reserve while watching 🥃😂
Great story Matt.... Well done Brother

Happy Wednesday Everyone
I love George Remus story. It's a Classic and the way you told it was extremely entertaining. I also love everything I had from Remus so far. Great job Matt. Cheers!
I know Remus shows up briefly in Boardwalk Empire, but his story would be an incredible stand alone TV show.
The world we live in, believe it or not. Right on brother /// peace is the only way
I wonder if Remus bought a mansion somewhere in Wiscansin?
Love these history lessons mat, I'm learning heaps from the land down under. Oh yeah and about your spirits as well.
I greatly appreciate your willingness to publicly state a truth that's a bit taboo these past few years. Most kids do suck because parents have allowed our current culture to call the shots of how to parent and decide for them on what's acceptable and what's not. Old school, old timers unite! 👊
Give me a history lesson like that in high school with a nice pour and I would have aced the class!

History is so fun …when you add a little bourbon. Thanks Matt

Flawless history lesson. All teachers take note. This may be your best review ever.
Matt I could listen to your commentary all day long 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Absolutely beautiful my friend
Absolutely phenomenal video.
Probably one of the best videos you have done. You should do more bourbon history. They all have wild stores.
Love the Whiskey & History Story! Great job and keep these coming!
Please keep the history lessons coming, really enjoy the stories of the whiskey we love namesake's!
Great video Matt 👏

This series is amazing!
WISCOMPTON
I see they just released a new bottle design for the standard Remus bourbon and the picks. Cheers
Best Video yet Matt...and you have a lot!

Salivary glands not salvation glands. You and Cameron are my 2 top bourbon shows. Thank you.

Such a great story teller. Love the history lessons. Cheers my good sir!
Hi Matt! Wondering if/how this whiskey has changed and if you would still recommend it?
Hell yeah Matt. I love this content👌
Doesn't the guy, George, get credit for inventing the temporary insanity defense? Awesome video, thin man, keep em coming, love ya!
I’d prefer if you would chapter the history lesson and the review segments. I couldn’t seem to just find the review this time.
That's because it happens throughout the story
That’s too bad. Much prefer the old format for Whiskey Wednesday. You doing blind tastings is what I enjoy the most.
Awesome job! Nobody can tell a story like you, buckaroo !
Drunk History on steroids. Love it Matt.
Now that's how you give a history lesson!
Aight this story definitely sold me on trying to find a bottle
I’m dieting laughing!! How did I miss this when launched !! Lol
😂😂😂 I feel like I just watched an episode of “drunk history” 😂❤
I love my Gatsby!
Matt you look friggin amazing. You are inspiring me to work on my weight. Worlds best whiskey taster and history teacher lol
Biotch don biotch. INSANE we celebrate this man lol The sad truth that money often equates to justice. Awesome video Matt, really enjoyed this style of content!

Hardcore History with Matt Porter Carlin
I lost it at "all kids today want to do is play video games and go on incognito mode (if you know what I mean)
The only fallacy to your story is that the best cheese in America is in Vermont not Wisconsin…. 😊. You had me rolling! Great stuff!
Story time with uncle Matt 😂🥃🤣
When can the History/Discovery Channel hire Matt for a show called Destination: Whiskey/Bourbon 24/7 so he can go all over America visiting Distilleries and reviewing their products for us?
Write them a letter!
Best bed time story ever...
Best history lesson ever.
I can’t wait for Remus Acquitted Biotch Bourbon to get released 🥴
Salvation glands! 😂 Cheers to the most important glands!
Why does this seem like a "Drunk History" episode?
"A man who defends himself, is a dumb" - Great historian ADHD Whiskey
Story time with Matt.

LOL..."kids today suck"...truth!!!
She had it coming
I prefer medicine I can purchase by the barrel.
That was the best 😂
America!
😂 a little history with my bourbon…you might be the reason they are changing the label
Remus!!
Wooo
