Trust is the foundation of any strong relationship. It's the confidence and reliance you have in someone to act in your best interest, even when you're not around. Trust is built over time through consistent actions and honest communication. It requires vulnerability and a willingness to be open and transparent with one another. Trust can be fragile, but when nurtured, it can create deep connections and meaningful relationships. Remember, trust is earned, not given, and it's up to you to decide who you choose to trust.
And this is exactly why I always talk with my fellow co-workers. If leadership won't establish a great work environment, then hold my beer and I'll do it myself!
Undoubtedly! Trust is a cornerstone of effective teamwork, as illustrated by your story about Noah. It’s fascinating how different leadership styles can drastically impact an employee's connection to their work. His love for his job at the Four Seasons, fueled by managers genuinely caring for him, stands in stark contrast to his experience at another hotel where he felt pressured to perform. This highlights that it's not just about the people you hire; it's about the environment you create. As I learned in the Sense of Humor Improvement Program by Habit10x, fostering an authentic atmosphere can empower individuals to thrive, making them feel valued and engaged. The takeaway? It’s about creating a space where people can truly be themselves!
A very touchy video. What is trust, is commitment to oneself or loving yourself to the best version of yourself. Thank you Simon for your powerful video
From my perspective " Trust" is the more important keyword in the world which leads to positive impact in private & business Life. Thanks for speaking about Simon . Greetings from Germany
But it’s that simple angel. The corporate world 🌎 crushed my soft heart. I just didn’t make it hence I am my own boss now. It’s so real and important what he is doing funny for sure that’s how sad the world has been for years and years now. If one person like Simon didn’t stand up for this we would all be sad and working for miserable bosses 🤯🤲🏾🤟🏽
Since Simon didn't give a definition of trust, I'll write one up based on the example he did give: trust is a feeling of certainty that the trusted person is aware of my vulnerability and sees it as something to protect rather than something to exploit.
I agree. There’s a feeling of confidence that the person would respect a vulnerability of mine. It’s definitely feeling based backed up with a proven track record to give a sense of certainty.
This is precious material. I read a book on the same topic that broke new ground for me. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint
This is a great video Simon thank you! It doesn’t actually tell me what “Trust” is. It tells me something about how trust can impact a work environment, but not what it is. I think there is value in discovering what things are. :)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
After all these years... If Noah still works at The Other hotel, we would like to know how things have evolved for the better. Or... If the 4 Seasons have hired him full time.
I listen to Simon regularly...and i have for years been empathetic and follow up on people's health / family situations and am there for them always. But the millennials that have joined....are so entitled. They take wfh at the drop of a hat...very cocky....i am usually very cool with them till I'm not. They are getting on my nerves. I don't feel like showing them any empathy coz I don't think they have a problem they are making lame excuses. How do I deal with them. They are all half my age.
Having empathy is from God. To not utilize empathy mak s a person a narcissist. I rather have some empathy than no empathy. Empathy allows me to care for others in spite of their inadequacies and empathy. I am 66 years and 20 days as of my comments. I have been having empathy all of my life. Times I want to not have so much love, but with the abundance, it keeps me from acting unloving and evil and hateful.
TRUST Joshua 9:11 Every now and then when I’m hanging out laundry and one might fall from me I think about how the maid/helper would treat with the situation. Would she just have something like a towel fall on the ground and decide that she’s not going to wash it over again and just dust it off and put it on the line and you end up with dirty towels on your face and your private parts? Something like that falls a lot. Right now the same thing goes for restaurants where a tray of meat might fall to the ground causing losses in thousands. Do you take it up back and serve it, or do you do the right thing and dispose of it. If it falls off the tray at home we wouldn’t want to spend a lot of money on a time sensitive meal so we would do the same thing. With GOD we don’t have to worry about trust. He is completely pure. He won’t let us down and as such we should try our best to be excellent when serving Him and others. Think about it.
So, how does this story of barista Noah define trust? Simon trusted Noah? Noah trusted Simon? Noah trusted one mgmt but not another? Where is the definiton of trust?
yeah is amazing how he explains it to this old dinosaurs corporate executives. And still they keep resisting because they don’t know how to change or want to
Completely disagree. Despite being exactly as Simon prescribes, the people with high integrity continue to be with high integrity. Those for who it is missing, misuse the empathy and make all kinds of pathetic excuses.
Last week, Warren Buffett talked in BBC news about how investors and traders can make millions through Crypto. He also recommended an expert Mrs. Thereasa Oconnell, Wondering if any viewers here are familiar with her services.

Makes sense...
You should read into the theory of trust by sociologist Niklas Luhmann. Trust is the decisive factor in human interactions.
Trust is voluntary dependence.

Trouble!
God created man he said it was good. Then he created woman and said it was very good. So from the beginning, a very good creation.
