Great story telling Andrew and wonderful that you’re both settled here and enjoying the beauty of our country - most of my list is a bit unconventional but here it it. Now a Toyota convert after many issues with Subarus. Andrew is such a fantastic story teller. I told myself I'd watch only 1/2 the video, finish up some work and then continue with the rest. Well, I just finished the entire video without realising it.....
What a lovely intimate story telling adventure of all your vehicles to date. EXCELLENT. I also loved to see Gwen in the back ground doing her thing, while you entertained us for almost an hour. An hour well spent on UA-cam... 🤠
Andrew is actually a storyteller. There are 50 minutes of a retrospective of life and the cars that accompanied and helped make it. Stories! Magnificent stories that are listened to with attention as if the screen had a glue that does not allow us to take off. Fantastic. I would also like to see the trip that is opening this fantastic Land Cruiser. By the way Andrew, this color seems designed to be in the bush. Have a nice trip and greetings to you and your wife.
That would be my dream garage.... my current Td5 defender 110 that I built back in 2010, a G300Cdi professional, and a Grenadier.... (and maybe a new JImny v4 for grocery shopping)
That was a great run down memory lane looking old videos of yours in tele before the internet in my childhood, Thank you so much for sharing it and setting the record straight for all those critics around. Great work and hope it was a good trip.
Andrew, I am an expat living in New Zealand, love your passion for your vehicles, the outdoors and sense of adventure. I came across your channel about 4 months ago. I have watched every episode of 4x overland. I thoroughly enjoyed why I hate baboons you had me rolling with laughter. Keep up your great work. Cheers Clint
No matter how many times you have heard Andrew in other videos narrating the same story, there is always something that still gets to listen again as if the story will change 😊😊
I just bought my first G-Wagen (1998 G320 V6 Puch) after 20 years of nothing but Land Rover. Sold the Defender 110 300Tdi, and I do miss it. But I still have a Series IIa, and another Rover or two. But the G-Wagen engineering is hard to ignore. It is exceptional off road. Quieter than my wife's X5 at 70mph. Your videos are what helped me branch out. And although I'll always at least have the Series Rover, I'm glad I broke away a bit for my daily driver and long trip vehicle.
Hi Andrew it's Pau from Dublin in Ireland, I have been watching your videos for a while now, and just love your truthfulness about all these large 4x4 truck/car builders across the world, So keep doing the right thing and always tell the truth about these companies.
Every video is a story on its own and I look forward to them and even go back to them again and again thanks for all the great work I have had some great adventures in Australia without leaving home best of luck and stay safe you and your family from Ireland 🇮🇪☘️🍀🍀🍀👍🏻
Got to say 5 things: 1- in the 1993 Range Rover classic with coils Springs the traction control did work in front and rear wheels (owned one) 2-Cant belive you didn't liked the discovery 1 v8 specially with the r380 manual transmission. What a beast and a excellent balance between off and on road performance (owned one) 3- York missed one of the best of 4x4 ever made, the Nissan Patrol Y60 or Y61. Those have a very well mix between the Toyota reliability and the land Rover off/on road performance (owned both ) 4- The best 4x4 by far is the G class (owned a G 500 463 cabriolet ) 5- Forget about land cruisers (owned a 80 series, a 01 Prado and a 05 hilux) and get you a 2019 G class 300 professional edition Cheers!!
Bloody brilliant as always Andrew. Don't know what it is but I just love listening to people talk about their lives, really inspiring and makes you remember to not over complicate your life and just appreciate it. Cheers
What a great journey with a rich history. Choices of mind over hart or the affection we have for some vehicles? Never forgetting your glance story, makes a huge difference when you improve it your self. Thank you.
Hi Andrew, I really enjoyed story time of history. Your passion shines through all the time. Best wishes to you and Gwynn. Hope to see you both when we are in OZ again.
Luv ya work mate. I've been watching your vids for as long as I've known of you on UA-cam anyway, and you have a way of being quite personal and candid and still professional without it being a contrived reality show. Your not a character advertising whilst on adventure. You are a genuine bloke sharing his passion and thats so bloody refreshing these days. Product placement is a subtle art. Or should be haha. Keep up the great work mate.
Great story. It is fun to hear you go through these models, it takes me back in time to when I started watching your channel. I cant believe how much time as gone by already.
Love your stories! I'm 24 and have my first ever 4wd, a manual 2000 vx prado 90, LOVE IT! surprised you didn't talk about the 90 more, absolutely wonderful vehicle its never got me stuck on my regular trips to the sand dunes
Really great stories, so, I have had a 94 RRC, with air susp., converted it to OME coils when it failed in Colorado, luckily outside my hotel door, ordered the coil kit, drove it 300 km on the bump stops (fun crossing railways) and converted it in my friend’s garage. I have an LR3 - first air suspension problem I put coils and lift on it. That is essential for anything air suspension used in any remote location. I have a 95 Discovery, 5 speed, the default fail safe (too old and too useful to sell). Your Lesotho Babboon’s pass LR4 trip shows the hidden secret, they are spectacular performers off road. New Defender, for me would be steel wheels, coils - basic as it can be... You are a rock star...
Andrew, enjoying your channel here from Cape Town. Me & my brother met you once at Infomap in Somerset West. He bought your extra spare wheel you had for the Lesotho Gelandewagen. The steel marie biscuit one. He still has that 1981 GD300 bakkie today after 17 years. Today myself & my brothers are fond tourers, campers & overlanders. Myself driving a 2002 Gen3 Pajero 3.5V6 & my older brothers in a Landcruiser GX200 & Hilux 2.8GD6.
I absolutely love Storytime videos!! This one was especially great, both for content but also length. Please make more long-form videos Andrew. We will watch them to the end 😊
ThankYou Andrew for all that you do for us viewers. Been a fan and avid watcher of your channel ever since you started here. Don’t mind my weird account name, two of my channels were banned last month. Without a single video uploaded on both.
Hi Andrew, A story time of your overlanding highlights is a great idea. I often rewatch your story time videos, something about them is captivating. Thanks for your work
Another great story. Thank you for sharing and providing inspiration and also bringing out great memories of trips past from our own 4wd adventures. Awesome stuff, you are making our time in lock down Vic a lot easier because these videos make you feel great.
I watched your last three episodes without a pause. So it's been three hours straight to watch your story and two other episodes. My guess for your next 4x4 could be "Ineso Grenadier".
Spectacular documentation of your vehicles. I'm from Portugal, and I'm starting in this "Overland Journey". I follow you for some time but have never commented. But It is time now to say I have learned a LOT with you. Maybe one time I will go to Australia, and we can meet. Best regards, Joao Soares - Lisbon - Portugal
As you mention the dates I can't believe I've been watching your channel for so many year whishing to one day build a vehicle like any one of your, really though I'd have done it by now.
Great story mate thanks for sharing. I love how high you regard the 105 series, as alot of us feel the same...myself included 😌. I've owned mine for 6 years now and heavily modified to suit our needs. 2 favourite mods would have to include the quick pitch RTT and the replacement of the 1HZ for the 1HD-FTE 😍
Andrew , you are the best ! I really enjoyed watching your story time and all your videos. You are absolutely right about the LR4 suspension height problem. I had the same trouble, but solved it with a set of Old Man Emu shocks. Easy conversion and happy trails after that. I still love my Rover, but I can't wait for the Grenadier! ;)
Hi Andrew, I have just watched your story above and thoroughly enjoyed it. Being an expat South African now living in Queensland, it was good to hear some of the names associated to off roading in South Africa. I love the outdoors and travelled to many places you mentioned in your story which are very happy memories for me. While watching your shoots of your various trips I recognised one item you used on nearly all of your trips across Southern Africa which you don't have here anymore. I do have a few of them and would like to send you one if possible. It will not take up any of your space or add extra weight. Please could you let me know how I could post one to you in Perth, possibly a PO Box etc. If you don't want to use it for whatever reason after seeing it, I won't be offended, but it would put a smile on many of your followers faces. Kind regards and keep up the good work
I'm moving to South Africa in January & when I will be getting back home in Kenya for my vacations my mode of transport will be the landcruiser troop carrier though after several builds coz of Andrews inspiration
cant believe the lack of 80 series land cruisers. just thinking of an 80 series GXL with a 1HDFT not FTE but the multi-valve mechanical injection 80.... i think you would of fallen in love Mr St pierre white!

Brilliant story time. Love seeing Gwynn pottering around in the background. Hope you are both thoroughly enjoying your current trip.
I never thought that I would stay and watch the hole video.... Man I love it.
You are the authority of off road trucks and overlanding. Having old film to show along with your story was very enjoyable to watch too.
One of the best storytellers to grace UA-cam, I can effortlessly listen to you for hours. Keep up the good work!!

That's crazy that Toyota gave you that troopy!
What a great story time, thanks uncle Andrew 😂👍
I just saw the all video and i just loved it. Really nice to know your experience and thoughts about 4x4 vehicles.
I particularly enjoyed the part when Gwynn tries to tip over the land cruiser at 40:41.
It must drive her mad standing on boxes all the time to get stuff out of the back.
Great content, as usual and also proud to say I’m a Patreon and more than happy to be so.
Andrew, love the way you talk! It attracted me many years ago. Good stories! keep up the great work, keep healthy, keep fit, keep telling!❤️✌️😀
Awesome reminiscence! You are truly an inspiration, Andrew
Fantastic Story Time!
