Zillow have pretty much already captured the market, way ahead of redfin and opendoor. Zillow are more versatile as well, they'll move into any area of real estate business that they deem profitable. I would definitely go for Zillow
I am as tech savvy as they come but I recently had a very poor experience with Redfin. And the answers are in your videos itself. I started my house search with Redfin. As a buyer, each time a new random person showed up to show a house and had no idea about houses or what to look for in the house. These are 22 year olds or part-time moms who have no idea about real estate. One time, a person who was showing me the house did not even walk in. As for online experience, one time I saw a house in New York on the website and I just keep getting NY recommendations. I finally got a traditional agent and bought a house. After a couple of visits, the agent knew what I wanted, the search was very efficient and gave me solid recommendations about house value etc. Redfin sucks and will soon go the purplebricks way. I would short this stock.
Shopping for homes, I found Redfin listings much more accurate than Zillow. They usually have better info on HOA fees, less town homes are listed as single units, etc.
I'm a CPA working in the healthcare industry, and I don't have any time to do these sort of projections because of work and MBA currently. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to see income statement projections, especially conservative ones. I just bought $2500 based on the recommendation. Thank you Kev - looking forward to more stock reviews like this.

Hi MeetKevin, loving the way you breakdown the fundamentals. Just wondering, where do you find that service side usually grows at 3%? Because looking at the SEC filings, service revenue growth seem to be much higher. 2015 to 2016 181 million => 260 million Around 43% 2016 to 2017 260 million => 351 million Around 35% 2017 to 2018 351 million => 441 million Around 25% 2018 to 2019 441 million => 539 million Around 22% 2019 to 2020 539 million => 674 million Around 25% Hoping you can enlighten me. 🙏🙏🙏
I like using Redfin to search for listings. I've been using it for years and give feedback to their developers. Where they win is their software. The listings are live and up to date. I can see if something is pending or not. I think their database of what you're looking at has to be worth something as well. They know what I like and where I like it. Targeted advertising! I think they can be like the Google of real estate. Maybe you as a realtor can say show me all the people looking for houses in a given market that like hardwood floors and a given number of bedrooms, bam you get an e-mail.
Meet Kevin I want your updated thoughts on Tesla’s big run. How high do you think it’s going to go? Will it plateau and keep going up after battery day? What are your cues to sell?
New to the investment game, and you have been a plethora of useful information. Thank you! Is there anyway to get a template of your company rundown sheet?
Hi Kevin, I just watched your Redfin video from July of 2019. You didn't seem keen on them back then, specifically their agents expertise. So I am interested in what changed your opinion, is it the new technology? Thanks!
If Redfin and Zillow can offer market price they will own the market - all they have to do is contract with every seller at market rate - then auction off to local buyers - let them bid. Almost no risk for seller or zillow.
Everyone uses Matterport in their listings now...I don’t know why you think only Redfin uses it. Also, most Buyers and Sellers want to work with agents they know and trust, through friend/family connections. Not an agentbot from Redfin.
Kevin, what about that accounting magic where they said they had the huge revenue boost that wasn't really true revenue? I remember you got very upset with them - my guess is you have forgiven them?
I agree with you that redfin is doing a great job getting this rolled out to consumers, but this particular technology is very last year. There is something better with Facebook and I have not observed redfin doing it yet. I can tell you who is, though. 😘
I bought Redfin for $17.64 around 15 months ago and sold it last week for $53.10. While I think it's the wave of the future in RE brokerage, the stock seems to have gone up much too quickly. Redfin also pays their agents a salary unlike other brokerage firms. And when I go on the Redfin app, I see just a small handful of listings from them here in L.A. Thus, with very few listings, paying their agents salaries, and burning cash to expand, I thought it was good time to sell it.
Really.. What level of "vetting" will the company have to put a buyers thru before they can just enter a sellers how without a license agent being there to "supervise" the buyer walking thru the sellers home. Plus how many sellers would want buyers to just walk thru the homes without a agent being there. How many state real estate commission boards will allow something like this to be legal to happen.. A lot of question about that one...
Kevin, What about Nvidia? I bought in March at 230 and sold at 490 on the selloff last week. Will the new merger force the stock back up to 590 soon? I'd like to hear your point of view on this stock.

Not sure if going with them would make a huge difference than going with a family friend real estate agent to help us search for a good home later this year to buy.
Redfin is the company that convinced me to delve back into the stock market and buy individual stocks back around August of 2019. Perfect timing too because I was set up perfectly to take full advantage of the market dip this past April. Sadly, I sold out of my Redfin position in December to buy into Tesla.
