Domaine Jean Claude Bachelet, Saint Aubin, 1er cru Chatenière

Terroir Talks with Jean-Baptiste Bachelet: Jane-Baptiste and I are standing at the top of this premier cru at 300 m and the climat runs down to the road at 250m. His part is on a tiny slope near the road - just 8 ares - which makes a barrel and a half. Chatenière has a similar South/West exposure to En Remilly and a limestone sub soil, but it is not as warm as En Remilly - as we begin to feel the influence of the combe. Jean-Baptiste describes the wine style as a bit fresher, full bodied, rich and massive.
