I live in Austin, Texas and in my younger days, I rode my bicycle 94 miles from Austin to the Shiner Brewery in Shiner, Texas to drink Shiner beer. I never tasted a better cold beer than after that bike ride.
I fell in love with Shiner Bock in a similar way after spending a long hot day doing field work outside of Austin, stopping by Gruene Hall (Green Hall) at the end of the day. Best beer I've ever tasted.
From Austin to Shiner is a tremendous feat on a bicycle. I’ve driven that in a car. Many times I drove from San Antonio to Houston and dropped down to 90 for a stop at the brewery. I have a collection of Shiner etched beer glasses. Great little town. That area of Texas is super. Blue Bell Ice cream at Brenham is worth the stop.

Im big on Shiner Bock here in Arkansas. I had a friend in my early 20's im in my 40's now. He was proud of his Czech ancestry and would make me go try all kinds of beers from around the world. There was a bar that taunted to always have news beers. I tried all the classic and some beers i never saw again. We did not get super drunk just buzzed. Thats when i found that Shiner Bock was my beer. I still like to try new flavors i see sometimes like at Sam's Club but later i have to refill on Shiner Bock.

It's weird. Here in PA, non of my Shiner bottles have been twist off. Just opened a 12 pack tonight, and they have the silver twist offs. They must sell both styles.
I love Shiner bock and black lager. If you have not tried Shiner Black Lager it is a must. Oktoberfest is also good. I don't care for bubbling water like Miller, Bud light, ultra, or Coors light. I want flaver.
Never tried the black lager,,,,, never saw it here in Bama. I love shiner bock it’s what I drink daily until Oktoberfest season. The only other shiner I’ve tried is candied pecan and I thought it was nasty so I’m kinda gun shy to trying anymore of their exotic flavored beers. I prefer bock in the can but it’s harder to find here. I’ve only tried Oktoberfest in the can. Idk why it’s called cheap beer. It’s over ten dollars a 6 pack. The only beers I’ve saw that cost much more than that we’re imports and with imports it’s not like your paying for better quality per se it’s more like your paying extra for shipping and handling.

Half way in and this video is more entertaining than I expected. Especially when the lead of the show was burping. Crazy what brought me here is that Jerry O’Connell offers one of the dorks (not Sheldon) from big bang theory a beer and he ask’s Jerry to open it for him and Jerry says it’s twist off and dork says “I know that it is”. I show that I don’t o watch with a beer I’ve seen a 💯 times and had 0 interest in finding out about. Back to my beer video I’m watching while I sip my Irish coffee and just took a nose sip of nal wink😅😉😊

I always thought Shiner Bock was the only good thing to come out of Texas but I have had a few brews from the Dallas Ft Worth area and they weren't bad.

A Winter wonderland! We had about an inch of sleet and freezing rain before it started snowing. I love drinking beer in the snow. One of my most memorable times was sitting in a hot tub on the roof of a BNB in Iceland, drinking beer while it was snowing. Shiner is a wonderful quality beer for the price. Very easy to drink, smooth flavor. It is unpretentious and comes with a great story.

Bock was a traditional Lent beer, more calories to help fasters survive the season.

I just started to drink my first shiner bock. Then after tasting it, I figured I need to watch a review because I think this is my new go to.

The bottle is really enticing as well. Its kinda cool that they have twist off caps. For a twist off, it has crazy smoke which is a good sign to me

Shiner is made a short 20 min drive from my house. Love it. Lone star original is my favorite though. Shiner second
