    I. Love. You. Not a subaru, but a 2014 Honda Accord. The motors are the same kind. My tach and gas gauge have been flickering and not going to proper zero after I reassembled my cluster. I know what I'll be doing this weekend!

Ohmygosh this is a great video! Thank you so much for the details and how to fix the motors because, yes, I did pull the pin out of my speedo. But now I dont care!!! Thank you!

    Thanks. Worked.
Stopped the "twitch" on power on and bad movement after removing the needle.

This video was tremendous help. Made the mistake of pulling my needles out to get to the side of the circuit board where all the LED's are. I managed to somewhat fix my tachometer & fuel gauge, except for the minor flickering.
My main issue is that I think I pushed too hard in the hole to reset the magnet/gear for the speedometer and there's no more free play in the shaft and it is hard to spin freely. I've tried pulling the needle out and repeating the steps, but it still hasn't helped. The first half of the spinning is hard, but the second half spins a little bit more freely, so I'm using the second half of the spin for the beginning of my speedometer. A reply would be much appreciated. Thank you!

This is a great video, I did a cluster swap in my forester sh. And all my needles pulled out when I wanted to separate my cluster to cover a few LEDs, the cluster was out of a sti so the diff temp light was in and one of the si drive lights. I've watch this video repeatedly to try and fix my twitching and sticking issues. The tach and speedo still have a slight sticking issue... So back to the drawing board.

I'm going through this now with little to no luck on the stock SH cluster for a 2010. Highly doubtful to ask since you posted around a year ago, but did you ever get it fixed?

Just wondering if this will work on a subaru 2003 impreza, I hope it does coz I pulled out my needles while I was playing around with it and now have absolutely no action from both my speed needle and rpm needle whatsoever, gonna give it a go, I'll let you know if it does haha

Can confirm I was able to fix both motors with multiple trial and error of pulling out the needles. Can also confirm it would have been much easier with a simulator lol. Also my 2003 Subaru impreza GD has a slightly different cluster but I was able to improvise and now they work, but not worth it coz the LEDs I put in look shit lol

How are you supplying power to the board. I am new to this but I have a 2010 wrx and I keep having to go an plug it back in to test components I am swapping out. How are you powering it to do those test?
