Saw , battery and blade after assembly .
I bought the skills brand double battery skill saw
the box said 10.23 lb
after I opened the box and assembled and weight almost 12 and 1/2
lb .
I have regular traditional corded skill saw .
I need to work on my roof looking for lighter convenience one .

One of my 9ah batteries is 1456 grams, my saw with blade installed is 3746 grams...so total is 11.46lbs exactly.
The 6ah 60v batteries are a little lighter still, so you could probably get down to around 11lbs even.

Is it my imagination or is the blade located on the opposite side to other saws? It looks like you need to look through your front hand and the angle set mechanism to see the front notch. Is this problematic in terms of accuracy for longer straight cuts? (Like ripping down a 8 x 4 foot plywood)
Worm drive saws usually come with the blade on the other side but are more expensive.
Every circular saw I've ever used is this way, doesn't bother me when ripping long cuts, just have to look top down on the saw.
@@SomeGuysGarage I have the issue of being really short so looking top down can be difficult on standard saw horses etc. Might need to shorten some legs. Thanks for your reply. I've been keen to buy this sans the two questions I asked.
@@michelewoods8221 if I'm doing long rips, I will often lay the plywood down on 2x4's on the ground, set blade depth, and kind of crawl along on top to do the rips rather than up high on saw horses.
It's an absolutely awesome saw, I've used it a bunch since I did the video and I literally have no need for my corded saw anymore.

They are really awesome, I haven't touched my corded saw since I got this.
i would prefer it if they sold a kit with the 6 ah battery instead of only the 9 ah.
They did at one point, if you can find a DCS578T1 or DCS578T2 instead of the X1 or X2 kits those will have the 6ah packs.
The 9ah is definitely a little bigger/heavier, but didn't make the saw harder to handle in my use anyway versus the 6ah.
Is their much power difference between 6ah vs 9ah on the 578?
I don't think so, I've been using the 6.0 on the dcs577 and get plenty of power.
Dude am I retarded??? I’m trying to take the nut off and it’s spinning and I’m using a half inch. Is there a lock button I have to hit while turning so it doesn’t spin
@@kyleallen1858 yes on the top, there's a lock for the blade to stop :)
