"I don't". Damn, I felt that rejection from 1,000 miles away. Poor Joe
Well, back to the dairy farm.
i hope you watched the rest of the episode! they follow up on that in a nice way.
@@Gordontrek I couldn't agree with you more!
In the actual episode he is called back. It's not rejection, she just wants independence, but then realizes how lonely her life is.
I like what Joe Pera does to my brain. After getting in sync with his way of thinking, I find myself absolutely fascinated with that green door. The sound it makes when he knocks, and the dramatic noise of it opening. How old it must be and all the people that have walked through it, thanks for that Joe!
I get the same mental state as when i used to watch Captain Kangaroo as a little kid and one of the characters would cut away for a film short every now and then and it would be about some person doing a job and explaining what they do or they would show visiting some place and narrate what was going on or just clips of kids running around playing.
A real zone out state of mind like watching Mister Rogers show also, same kind of mind state, like a meditative buzzing watching their touring factories and shops showing how things were made and how different occupations did their jobs.
The voice tones and cadence were a big part of it also, Joe can get into that particular hypnotic restful frequency when talking about things.
The older i got the less able i was to get into that state of mind. My depression problem also seems to hinder it.
I guess people that do the AMSR or whatever that is, they describe that similarly as the mental relax feeling as im talking about.
Joe Pera is a beacon of what humanity should strive for.
Some would say he is the lighthouse to our endless sea
Well... Get striving!
PC you and me PC Woo Woo!
HowToMakeMoneyOnlineDotCom Lolol
Kozv that’s beautiful..😥
I'm with Joe on this one. Lighthouses are facinating, and a simple life as a lighthouse keeper would be the only job I would want in a Pre-Information Age world
Thanks
I’m mad I’ll never get to experience it now that I think about it
that or a fire lookout would be pretty great
Being a lighthouse keeper is in the information service industry.
@@johnmcdairmant6289
That is very true haha
If Joe Perra narrated audiobooks I would throw my money at his face
I am a Concierge Team Leader for Audible. I will make that suggestion :)
I am late but he has a book coming out this month
Edit: It got delayed till November dang it
Joe's too polite for that. I would select the crispest bills from my wallet, put them into a fresh envelope, and write his name on the face in a neat hand, before offering it to him.
@@petercollin5670 i might consider a wax stamp
"the story must be told" a surreal story reading podcast. he occasionally guests for a story narration and theyre great. check out his episode "wet dog smell"
No dairy farm can contain Joe Pera's adventurous spirit. But if it could, that would be a wonderful dairy farm.
Good luck locking down that Bengal tiger
I don't want to meet the person that doesn't like lighthouses. Not that he would be a bad person, but just too extreme for my tastes.
Lighthouses rule. You don't like the lighthouse you suck.
Let’s not beat around the bush. They would be a bad person.
I have visited 3 different great lake lighthouses along thumb shoreline, the information and artifacts are endearing, tragic and noble. Certainly worthy of remembrance and respect...how could anyone not become attached too the history?
if it aint where i sit, i dont worry about it
I don't want or I don't need are two differ ends. (just saying).
kinda want to see that super accurate historical re-enactment continue
That is the brilliance of Joe's work, he always leaves you wanting more.
He goes back to the dairy farm.
Joe Pera is a treasure and the world does not deserve him.
Shut up
Maybe not, but we sure need him.
I think you meant David Liebe Hart.
@@joshschneider3134 No you shut up
Joe Pera is a character, albeit one who is excellently acted. But I see your point. The human race on mass does not have such beautiful traits of humility, gentleness and decency that is expressed in this rare lovable character.
Very bright,
guiding light,
this is why,
I'm happy tonight
I say this to my phone often while going to the bathroom at night
Not the twist that was chosen but the one that would have been perfect
That made me genuinely laugh.
Thanks for the chuckle.
Do you have a pet possum?
I clicked on this not knowing the context and expecting laughs. Instead i was impressed by meaningful values and deep thoughts about life in the past. Very cool:))
Joe Pera legitimately makes me feel better.
Joe, you good person, do NOT see the Lighthouse with William Defoe and Robert Pattinson. The horror is an antithesis to everything you are.
@Patrick Ancona lies. Joe Pera is real and he loves us.
@Patrick Ancona You have some underlying issues you should deal with, Patrick.
I was thinking, this is a complete mirror image of that movie
Patrick Ancona that’s actually just how he is, his main job is being a teacher
@Patrick Ancona Yes and santa is fake and the tooth fairy as well, You make the children sad. Why ruin every else's fun. Your fake news. Sad Baby.
Mr Rogers may have left this world but thankfully we we’ve been blessed with Joe.
I was amazed to find out that Maine has fewer lighthouses. A beautiful sight no matter which shore they happen to rest upon.
Joe is a bright light in the darkness. Thank you, Joe.
I just discovered Joe today. It has profoundly affected me in a way that's very hard to explain. I appreciate this so very dearly. Nothing bad can ever happen while Joe is speaking with us.
Joe Pera is my lighthouse that guide me through the night. Thank you
Me too! Feel the same!
I am instantly so invested in this Civil War story oh my god
It's about a black out in his town.........My favorite episode.
It relieves my anxiety to know that when Morgan Freeman passes away I'll still have Joe pera.
this full episode made me cry my fucking eyes out. incredibly sweet and relatable.
Joe Pera Guides You Through The Darkness That Is Life And The Human Condition And Delivers You Unto Green Pastures And Still Waters.
And pie.
now that I've got a taste of the wider world, at least through Northern Virginia and back, I don't think I'll ever be quite content on the dairy farm again
Growing up in Michigan includes mandatory lighthouse tours. This was really touching and unironically lead to a great conversation with my grandma about her love of them
I lvoe this. THe ending xD
"Now that Ive got a taste of the wider world, atleast up through North Virginia and back."
The lighthouse (2019)
If Joe Pera was with them, those two would've gotten along much better.
@@fv2977 in a parallel universe this happened. color me green with envy.
Dimento PLexitronum I fell asleep 5 times in that movie
@@SomeSunshineOutside In a parallel universe, seperate from both the game and show, Lain lived a happy and fulfilling life.
@@fv2977 Let's all love Lain
I can't help but just smile the entire time I watch Joe Pera do anything.
Joe has taught me the true feeling of Joy. He has made me feel advocated in my humility and wonder for the world.
At least through Northern Virginia and back is one of the most underappreciated typical Joe Pera joke
The 1st Michigan was at 1st and 2nd Bull Run, Fredricksburg, Gettysburg, Wilderness, Cold Harbor and surrender at Appomattox C.H. among others. Thanks for pointing me towards this info. Not a lot of regiments see this much action. I just thought it was interesting.
I could go for a video of him narrating space, or history of dinosaurs. Holy crap, this guy has a future. Bob Ross in the making.
*Joe, noticing another human being*
"Oh. Hello."
Then he’ll say; “My name is Joe Pera.”
This and Breakfast are my two favorite episodes.I'm ready for S3.
i like how in joe peras daydream he gets his job offer rejected

Joe Pera’s voice sounds like he lost everything but still manages to have hope
Joe Pera and Jo Firestone are pretty great! Thanks for making such a rad show!
I've been obsessed with lighthouses my whole life, and only just recently did I realize that National Lighthouse Day falls on my birthday, August 7th. That was some weird irony.
Bless you, Joe Pera.
I can imagine Joe standing in the top of the lighthouse, with a flashlight in each hand, spinning around for the rest of his life and being totally content with life.
It's just the most wholesome thing. It makes us mourn our innocence and the structure of the old days.
We all need more Joe Pera in our lives. Hopefully Adult Swim will continue to help him share with the world, forever.
Is it just me or is Joe literally the only last bit of hope we have for humanity?
Man, this deleted scene of Willem DaFoe from “The Lighthouse” really sets the tone.
Thank God for Joe Pera.
I hope you are having a wonderful Holidays with the family Joe.
This was unexpectedly beautiful. I am legitimately moved-- imagination alight with the possibilities of this story.
Well played.
Easily the most artistic episode, bouncing back & forth between Joe's fantasy & his reality with seamless transitions. Not to mention a great moment when the music kicks in during the 2nd half of the episode.
One of my favorite scenes form the series :)
Sometimes you gotta like your own comment to get the ball going

Just discovered joe, what a calming peaceful and relaxing comedian, dont stop!
I've never heard of this Joe Pera before, but man am I intrigued.
DemBoi's Life lucky you. Joe pera is a G
This show was too good for this cruel, cruel world.
Seeing the episode title "Joe Pera Guides You Through The Dark" made me audibly go "Aww"
He and his skits are so precious
The glasses add a nice reenactment touch to Joe's Civil War garb. Joe & Co. are going straight to the top.
We need a Joe Pera period film (directed by Wes Anderson)
Gosh the beautiful music brings tears to my eyes
There is a lighthouse on St. Simon's Island, Ga that one of my early teachers threw herself from. I was young when I heard the news. She was a teachers aide, I was about six at the time.
But other than that lighthouses are great.
Thought you were more of a tree enthusiast Joe... tell me... Whats a timberman want with bein a wickie?

Many dont know this, but this was the original script for the movie "The Lighthouse".
How could anyone dislike this video.
This man soothes my anxiety
thank you Joe
Glad I was baked when I watched this 🤣
woah! baked on weed?
Never abuse yourself to a merfolk,
never kill a sea bird,
Never spill your beans to an old wickie
the appeal of Joe Pera
Joe (The Peak of Human Evolution) Pera.
We are blessed by Joe. I hope that his popularity is a sign of an underlying desire for something different. Does TV need violent narratives or meta-comedy to be good? Maybe. But I think this show is pretty good.
Ah, so this is the prequel to that Robert Evers movie.
This is so perfect. Right after finals. And at the perfect time too. Adult swim knows their audience so well.
Joe Pera daydreams about daydreaming
but why i am i crying
Only Joe can talk about lighthouses and have me completely enthralled.
I don't know how Joe Pera made it as a comedian before but I'm so glad Adult Swim found him.
It's funny to watch the meat vessel that holds the 8th dimensional being that is Joe Pera talk about lighthouses
Joe Pera truly guides us in our misty journey
Thanks, Joe.
That building is beautiful.
Joe Pera for President!! 💕
My favourite episode I've seen so far
Joe Pera wickie at heart
I am so sad Joe Pera Talks With You was canceled. It's the best show to come out in the last couple years by far. I hope Joe moves on to make new things.
This is fantastic, why is there not more like this?
Ohhhh boy.. tomorrow's episode is gonna be a tear-jerker like the autumn drive one... get your tissues ready, yall
you never kill a sea bird!!!!
Man I would love a lighthouse barn
This is great. Thank you Joe.
Let Neptune rock you to bed, Joe Pera!
I've watched Joe's poem "Fall" and this one. Maybe Joe can read us more poems? I think it could be ep 3 of Tall You To Sleep with soothing ambience as well!
That story does not end with *"I don't".*
I'm currently reading *"Lighthouse"* by the late Tony Parker. Wonderful book.
This makes me happy and helps me sleep
why do I feel like crying right now
5 Bags of popcorn!!
and 6 bags of soda
Is this that Robert Eggers movie everyone was talking about?
this is like the tonal opposite of The Lighthouse (2019)
These 2 minute clips are killin' me... It's not enough
I wanna crawl in joe pera’s beard and feel the warmth and love he radiates. He’s like the youngest grandpa in the world.
Thank you Joe.
