Good morning and a happy new year. I have My Ultimarc I/O ultimate board coming tomorrow and am looking forward to it. I am having trouble how ever on deciding what RGB buttons to get. I was going to order one of each that Ultimarc make and try but thought i would ask aswell. I would like as total control of the sequence and colour of the output of the button and was wondering on which one should I choose and what other Adaptors would I need to achive this please. Also would just like to say thanks for the Guide Videos that you have Uploaded on the Ultimarc Range of products. Very useful and friendly format to understand. Have a nice day
@DanielSpies - I've seen there have been a few questions/comments previously on which wiring harness to use for this setup, I 'm still a bit unclear on which to choose. I've read that you used both the large connectors and the small connectors. I'm ready to start purchasing hardware for making my control panel and I need to choose a harness. My control board is only going to be 2 player, but I do want to use the ultralux buttons for the player buttons and the gold leaf buttons with the black cap as you've done for the top buttons....does this mean i would need 2 boards to do this? or which harness do i choose?
Hi Daniel, I have one of the Ultimarc Ipac Ultimate IO boards coming but I just had a question regarding keybinds. I know you said it's better to use keystrokes instead of xinput, so for just a 2 player cabinet with no spinner or trackball what would you suggest? for the moment it's only 6 buttons in the main area, with sel and start on the top left, and in the middle of both sticks there is 4 aux buttons that can be used, i think i'll make them how u have it, menu exit start and pause. but now i'm curious on how to setup say launch box using keystrokes for menu navigation, i've only used an xbox controller. is that difficult to change?
Can you do more videos on buttons, bezels, trim, different trackballs, mods for trackballs, ideas, just any new arcade video would be cool because there is nothing on youtube
When I put inserts into my ultralux buttons they rotate around as the buttons get pressed. What's the best way to keep them still? I thought about using a tiny dab of glue but I'm afraid it might be too visible in an otherwise transparent button and it would look bad. What would you suggest?
Tiny bit of glue will work fine in most cases without being visible. I switched to GoldLeaf buttons now and they don't have that turning problem. That is also an option. Thanks, D
Some of my black plunger caps get stuck in the button housing causing a premature input. The only solution I’ve found is to snip off the black retention clips, but then the button is so loose, the cap is susceptible to falling out because it doesn’t have enough retention. Do you know of a solution to this problem?
Yes this is a problem I had myself. I tried to cut the caps of as well but the buttons are not staying in place as they should indeed. Usually (if you are lucky) you can just insert the black caps and firmly press them a few dozen times quite hard. They will just get enough play for the buttons to work. OR you can use a dremel and slightly cut 1mm of the inner side of the cap feet. This works great but takes some extra work...
@@TheDanielSpies_Arcades Well, that's exactly the direction I've gone. I was smart and intitially ordered extra black caps to try different options, but I needed to order some additional black caps because I came up one cap short of fixing all the caps/buttons where I trimmed off the retention clips. For new users attempting to install these, learn from our mistakes...do NOT trim off the retention clips unless you want the caps to fall out onto the floor every time you lift your control panel to conduct maintenance. The solution it to press down on the buttons (like you suggested) a few dozen times (hard) to 'work' them in until they don't register premature input. It's quite annoying when the stuck button is mapped to a SHIFT or ALT key and you have various shortcuts popping up all over the desktop.
This arcade build and the videos are amazing!! I was looking through your other vids hoping to find a tutorial on LED Blinky configuring with the RGB buttons......but alas......it still eludes me. haha. I am upgrading my cabinet with RGB buttons and it is pretty awesome but definitely a learning curve utilizing that software properly. Great job on your cabinet. Really does look amazing. Cheers.
i love how your cabinet looks
These buttons are sick !!

I would suggest to choose the GOLDLEAF RGB buttons. These are the only ones I use... No other adapters needed :-) Have fun with the build!

How do you get buttons to light only when they work for a certain game? I'm on Launchbox, thanks!
Hi, did you install and configure LedBlinky already? Thanks Daniel
What software do you use for the U/I? Is that an Emulation Station theme?
Hyperspin!
Do you have a link to the software that illuminates the buttons in play for a particular game?
Clint Harris Hi Clint, that is correct. LedBlinky is the (third-party) software that is needed to drive the LED’s 👍🏽🕹

Hi, I am not that familiar with Launchbox but in Hyperspin it is really easy to do. Just start HyperHQ and map the buttons there.
Many thanks,
Daniel

@@TheDanielSpies_Arcades Can you put inserts in the goldleaf buttons the same way as you did with the ultralux buttons?
Does the iPac work with an Xbox Series X Console? Im trying to build a Xbox Series X Arcade.
I don’t think so. You would need a Brook fighting board for this
I've got the IPAC2, but how do I adjust the brightness?
Ipac 2 is not compatible with RGB buttons so you can't adjust anything :-) You will need an Ipac Ultimate or an PacLED board to drive RGB buttons :-)
What are the pc specs that run this whole awesome cabinet?
See this vid for the specs 👍🏽 thanks D

@@evh347 Haha true!
Do the rgb buttons get warm to the touch after being on for a while. Thank you.
No, not at all!
What’s controlling the lights of the buttons?
LedBlinky software

Why you put in the titles Gold leaf? these are microswitch buttons!
Ultimarc names them Gold-leaf RGB switches 😄
What is the brand of the black plunger that you swapped out?
Ultimarc! Thanks, Daniel
Nederlands accent is zeker aanwezig.
