    That was easy. Now try it with a Harrows Apex Sabre Dart Point. :)
    I don't believe it's possible to install one without damage using a Designa/Mission repointer.

      This is a great point! A bunch of us were having this discussion the other day. How on earth do you install those points without damaging them? The part where you need to clamp is right where all the grooves and bumps are. I can't imagine installing them without marring them up. Cheers.

      i done the apex points with the exact same repointer tool the other day, must say it was pretty easy to do was also expecting to ruin the point more so the fact i chose the black coated versions! I did post a photo on the darts nutz fb page on the new harrows avanti darts i picked up after the launch

      Just came across this video. I had busted up my hands for years before using some vice grips to hold onto the tool. I've never had too many problems busting the points up, but when I have it's always been with the Harrows Apex points. The lance or any of the ridged ones, from time to time, will give me problems. The tape idea another commentor mentioned should work. I'll try that next time.

    Single, best piece of advice I have received for repointing with this type of tool was that you should grip the tool at the top most rectangular piece of metal to ensure the points go in straight. I did not do this before. Now I do because this works.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  4 роки тому +1

      Very true. And if you happen to watch the "other" darting review channel you'll notice that they grip the repointer right in the middle which is a big no no. It could potentially cause the dart to go off center and you'll end up inserting the point at an angle causing it to break.

    Great video. I did a set of Storm's for a friend awhile back and bent one even trying to be careful. I did another set for another person the other day and made sure that the point was going in easily so I wouldn't bend one. I was making this mistake of holding the re-pointer like u showed. I will have to use a crescent wrench next time, great advice!!!!

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  4 роки тому +1

      Cheers Jules. Yeah, the slider part needs to be able to move freely so everything lines up well. Once you grab it the point or barrel can get crooked and it's really easy to snap a point that way. The best bet would to probably put the repointing tool in a vice.

    I should’ve watched a video like this a few weeks ago. I use dark thunders and have got these points in them but they are a little marked from how I clamped them in my repointing tool but still don’t affect my grip or anything. I might get some new ones soon and I’ll definitely be coming back to this video for guidance especially since your using the exact same points and darts as I have. Keep up the good work as always 😊

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  4 роки тому

      Thanks Pearce. Yeah, you can clamp them in there really tight as long as it's on that flat area. There's always the chance you'll get a slight scuff but if the point slides while clamped it can chew it up pretty good.

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  4 роки тому +1

      It really is sad that they price gouge us so badly here. The affordable dart market is completely non existent. You mentioned buying those awesome Spectre darts. With the 8% off discount code I think they're about $16 or $17 for the barrels only. Imagine trying to buy a 90% tungsten dart here in the states for less than $20? It's impossible.
      Buying darts and dart supplies is extremely affordable. Some of the deals going on right now are almost too good to be true if you've seen my recent Amazon UK video. I truly believe that if more Americans knew about the REAL price of darts that we'd have more people playing. Darts would become way more popular imo. But when US shops try to sell everyone a $75 basic knurled dart that's not helping anyone but themselves. And I 100% agree... the prices here are borderline criminal and to take it one step further it almost appears that most the US shops are participating in illegal price fixing which actually IS illegal.

    Just a little trick I picked up when fitting storm points, at the base of the widest part of the point is a tiny radius which can result in a gap between point and barrel.
    Using a small (6mm ) drill between my finger tips rotate just a few turns to put a tiny chamfer in the end of the barrel ( it will show as a silver ring in the end of the barrel ). This will ensure the points will fit snug to the barrel and as the saying go's NO GAP WONT SNAP

      The benefit of Storm points is that they greatly increase the life of your flights. It's like day and night difference. I used to go through flights about every 3-4 days but now they last me months. Another benefit of Storms is that you'll get less wild deflections and the darts will now glide past one another in the board. I'd also recommend Winmau Freeflo points

      @@WorldwideDarts Thanks for the answer! Those are some compelling arguments to get me some Storm points. I have already ruined my new mvg flights after a few days...What length for the points would you recommend with a 50-51mm barrel and a medium stem?

    • @WorldwideDarts
      @WorldwideDarts  4 роки тому +1

      @@Robkup The length depends on what you're used to. Most darts come with a 32mm point but remember, 5mm of that is inserted into the barrel. So only 27mm are showing. In that case it would make sense to get a 26mm Storm point. Storms are measured as the part showing outside the barrel btw. Or you could go slightly longer and get the 30mm ones. Totally up to you. I use the 26mm ones

Another would be to not use to much torque, especially you gym rats that don't know your own strength, 😋 I've seen some barrels crack where the tool/stem threads are.
