ah man I know the feeling! Do you think that single stage paint is as durable/hard wearing as 2 stage? Since wheels take a lot of beating on the road I thought that without the clear coat the paint will more easily chip? If single stage is as durable then whey doesnt everyone use it? What's the downside to it?
Actually a lot of people still use single stage and it is pretty durable, single stage is the base and clear coat mixed together and if you want you can do a few methods to add clear coat over the single stage to protect it. I don’t think it’s really a downside to it but with 2 stage paint you can add more clear coat for protection but again the same can be done with single stage
Whats G Homie!? I wanna ask u a quick question i grabbed a 21 gallon compressor from harbor frieght few days ago and grabbed a r500 gun and grabbd 1/4 hose is that correct for paintn my car or is the 1/4 connector but 3/8 hose is needed i want the 1 that works best for better results any help is appreciated

You’re absolutely right, when I get customers with tire shine products on their vehicles I usually don’t even bring them in my shop, I’ll work on them outside
I honestly don’t know why it didn’t happen with the primer Mark but I assume something in the makeup of the paint reacted with the product that was used on the tires
@@UndergroundPaintKing fish eye, separation, orange peel and blotchiness. Painter’s nightmare poor prep or rushing always nips you in the butt. 😂 back in my painter days I had all the above ⬆️ and runs 🤣
Lol. I highly doubt that anybody who is planning on painting a vehicle that day is worried about how good the smell when they head to the shop. It also does not matter what is on your tires when you paint a car because they are supposed to be covered up or removed all together. Cutting corners and being lazy is what hinders a good paint job.
@@UndergroundPaintKing I'm always down for paint videos. I just find it hard to believe that anybody would put stuff on to smell good when they are in the shop. It makes no sense considering shops don't usually smell the best lol and I have never painted a car with the wheels still on so I was like....huh 🤔
@@joshlepley1306 trust me when I tell you, these things go on and I have seen it and had it happen, and it’s not so much about the wheels being on the vehicle, it’s more so about the products that I was pointing out in the video, if the tire shine product makes it onto the body of the vehicle and gets to the point of being sanded and painted it will cause issues whether the wheels are on or off

So would it help to use the alcohol to wipe down the rims?
That would help or a grease and wax remover
GREAT VIDEO
Thanks Tony, I appreciate you checking it out 💯
Been there done that know the pain lol. Do you think single stage paint is better on rims or base coat clear???
I honestly don’t know which is better for rims, I think they both would hold up if using good products and applied correctly
Need to do a little research to see what the common factor of different additives are that makes the reaction, one I would say is oil ?
Silicone products is definitely a No Go when it comes to the paint products Dana but I’m sure it’s more additives like you said
Watch-out for any silicone spray lubricant. Very hard to find a solvent to remove it.
You’re absolutely right, when I get customers with tire shine products on their vehicles I usually don’t even bring them in my shop, I’ll work on them outside
You live and learn everyday.
That’s what it’s all about!
That sucks bro why I always drown what it im painting in degreaser soap n water and so on
You definitely have to bro and sometimes that still isn’t enough 🤦🏽♂️
So what did you do to get rid of the wrinkly
Gonna have to re clean the rims and tires and re-paint them
You are right that stuff will kill a paint job.
It definitely will Tray! I appreciate you checking out the video 💯
What pressure are you spraying that single stage at?
I believe I show the pressure when I start spraying
The oils in perfume and cologne can ruin a painters day. Now tire wet can ruin a lot more. If I'm correct silicone based.
Exactly! Tire wet can ruin a entire shop and definitely a paint booth 💯
Yes it's no joke.
Could use fisheye eliminator
You could try it but I can’t say for certain that it would work
Break fluid will cause problems also
Appreciate you for that Tracy, that’s a good one 💯
What nozzle size

What a shame, how come the primer didn't react the same.
