My dad was a boxer back in the day. He's 68 now and a bit overweight, but he can jump ropes like there is no tomorrow... it looks awesome.
Great video by the way !

Alright where is my first comment? Attention Viewers: this guy is not only the Shirley McLain of the jump rope but he also removes comments with any negative feedback within five minutes. Paul is standing by to screen opinions of his video. What a gal.

I am just starting to jump rope. Is this a good rope to start with: www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Guarantee-Available-CureSearch-Childrens/dp/B00TD75HMC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425240336&sr=8-1&keywords=jump+rope+curesearch It seems to be high quality, and a great price. I'm not trying to break the bank.

I used to jump rope, but I never got into doing much magical tricks w it n shiii... But liiike I wish I would have known all the magic u can do w it... Wish I would have been a jump rope boss longer... Could have really stepped up my basketball game in high school... Cuz I be jumpin rope all the time now... I feel so much quicker when I ball now... N up on my toes n agile... Yeah... In sum... Jumpin/skippin rope is hella boss and hrs underrated. People just don't know.

Don't worry about messing up because it's all a part of the learning process! ^__^
Close your eyes and block out sounds from everything else except the sound of the rope. (Only do that if you can keep your balance lol) When you hear the "clap", then hop from side to side. IMO, i find it easier to do with with music with a nice, steady beat.

  • @LlamaWarriorMan

Good advice on the cross though. I'm not sure how I used to do it... But I know that since I've seen this, I've consciously had that advice in my head, n I've gotten better at my crosses. Just learning to do right hand over... I'm aiight w it now, but I used to only cross the other way, right hand under, n it takes some practice to be able to do it either way.

This is very well done. I see a lot of poor jumping technique - people jumping way too high, arms out wide, ouch. I use a top quality 1-pound weighted rope for a really good full-body workout. Jumping rope is the best! Thanks for a great video.

Hi there! I train boxe in Brazil. And for that kind of stuff that you said, try to jump with both legs but with one of your foots slightly in front of the other, do some jumps like that till you fell confortable, then try to switch foots, sooner or later i think you would be able to switch foots while jumping properly.

It took me a good two months practice to avoid double-jumping and finally found my rythm. I still have to practice the jogging, lifting one foot at a time at a fast pace, which is what boxers really do, and which is the real killer rope exercise

    This is really awesome!!!
I never learned it this way actually. Great way to learn timing!! For me, I kept my feet close and closed my eyes from time to time to hear the "clap" and "whoosh" noise so i can time it. I'm still a beginner, but I have the rhythm. I'm working on the side to side tomorrow!!! and also 1 leg hops.

    • @Titocoldshotz
      @Titocoldshotz 2 роки тому

@Warlemity I can do soooo many tricks now compared to before haha
Double unders, triple unders, crossovers, reverse crossovers, reverse double/triple unders, jogging in place, running from one lane to the opposite side, and I can handle up to about 2-3 mins without stopping

Your skipping is phenomenal, not taking anything away from you in that regard.
I really did learn a lot and my skipping improved exponentially.
But from a fitness perspective, you really need to work on your breathing.
