Cheers mate, My Father, Brother and I invented this kit 20+ years ago. We investigated how position control works in a 35 and matched the profile of the internal cam within the housing of the 35 and found a way that we could get it to work external on a Grey Fergy. As you know pulling apart the cross shaft on a Grey Fergy is not for the faint hearted. Once we had it working, which we really only did to see if it could be done, we thought that others might appreciate it. Have been selling them constantly ever since. During the course of manufacture of the tractors there seems to have been some slight thickness changes on the quadrant mounting pad and so some springs do end up a little out of alignment, I have suggested to a couple that have contacted me about this issue to file out the hole slightly and shift it away from the body of the tractor, it was designed as you supposed to rest on the housing, but the bolt should be done up nice and tight so should hold the forces ok. Thanks for the review and happy tractors.
Thanks Stephen, It seems to work well but Im thinking you knew that. You must have sold a few as they seem to be coming out of the woodwork. If you want to sell them through Queensland Tractor Spares let me know and we can stock them. lance@queenslandtractorspares.com.au.

Hi Bundy Have used both the Zane Thang and the Giant position controller. My pair of 80mm bore TEA’s are now running Zane Thangs. The first Zane Thang came from Zane Sherman (the inventor) in USA. The second I made myself. Now been using a Zane’s Thangs for 20+ years. I removed the Gaunt from one of my TEA20’s and replaced it with the homemade Zane Thang, enough said. If your interested I can send you a short video of the Zane Thang in operation
G'Day Lance, nicely done very similar to how my install went, just like to mention that the Ferguson instructions tell you that when fitting such implements as slashers, post hole diggers etc. you should use the long pin beneath the draught control link pin so by passing it altogether. Really enjoy your videos. Thank you.
G’day Lance. Well you taught me something today. I had no idea that the top centre linkage automatically lifted the 3 point linkage up when a load was placed on it. Nice work mate 👍 . Cheers 🍻 Aaron
Nice to see how quick and smooth that three point moves. It's on the project list for my pair of 35s this spring (TO and MF). I know you're keeping this Fergie rusty, but you might want to experiment with a mix I found on Vice Grip Garage channel: 1 part spirits:2 parts boiled linseed oil. Then wipe it on (thin coat is best). It protects the surface and it's cheap. Lasts six months or a year or more depending on weathering. It will keep the relic look of this Fergie. I used it on the badly fading MF35 red paint and it revitalized it rather than repainting the tractor.
to30 trans rear end swap, once the engine was removed we seen one trans had extra parts in bell housing and a lever. Can you tell what is going on please. should I swap out the extra parts, why are they not the same. Great chanel.
Hi, newbie Fergie TO-20 owner... so with position controller installed, will I be able to put a load on the arms in other positions besides full up and full down? thanks!
@@BundyBearsShed thank you. I emailed the place you suggested and Steven got right back to me. I expect to order the positioner very soon ...just ordered new gas tank & upper arms, so trying to stretch out expenses! I am grateful for your video help. Happy Tractoring!
Had one of these many years ago. And I saw one at a show in ireland converted to four wheel drive .It was connected somehow to the plate on lift lever side of the back end
@@BundyBearsShed Thanks for the reply. I can check it in case it has picked up some muck from its previous unknown maintenance history, although I did clean it and put fresh oil in it a year ago wih little use since. Any other possibilities in case that is not the problem?? Many thanks.
@@BundyBearsShed You misunderstand. You stated the 4 bolts that hold the draught control lever are smacked on an anvil to distort the threads thus providing a lock. In my opinion better achieved by either lock nuts or self locking nuts.
Hi Lance, Just got one of these kits and yet to fit it. Your vid is most helpful. I wish to use it with a jib where draft control (movement) would be quite dangerous especially if lifting something in a confined space. I notice in your vid that there was still some noticeable movement in the draft function. Do you have any suggestions whereby I can totally disable the draft movement? I guess attaching the upper linkage to the lower pin would do this, however I would have to make up an adaptor to do this as the jib has a square section on the end which sits between the upper bracket. Thanks. Marcus
My reactor is very stable with the kit fitted and Im thinking with a load on the jib crane as it is pulling on the spring and not pushing you may not have a problem. The only adjustment is on the spring so if you do have a problem possibly try to fiddle with that. Best option is use the lower mount though if possible.
Just removed this system from my latest tea20. Possibly poorly installed but the linkage would not in the lowest position. All the way down then it would lift 2-3 inches. The bolts were also loose and the movement had allowed dust and moisture into the transmission.
Had a similar problem, turns out where the quadrant lever pushes on the control arms inside the lift cover was worn and pitted, with matching wear on the corresponding plate on the control arm. Net result was there wasn't enough "throw" when the quadrant lever was rotated. Solved it by sleeving the end on the quadrant to 20mm with some aluminium tube.
thanks lance - looks a useful gizmo but does it compromise the draft control at expense of accurate raise control in your opinion? really appreciate all your vids keep it up cheers guy in sheffield yorkshire

Great vid mate! My 58 Fergie is low on pressure, needs high rpm to lift 3point hatch, is there a pressure adjustment for it.
Not really an adjustment but you could try replacing the stand pipe o rings and the piston rings and see if that helps before working on the pump.

I have painted it with Penetrol since filming, the rust has darkened and the grey still looks close to the same.
