David Leininger and Duane too- I'm 65 and no singer has ever moved me the way she does. Dusty will always be my number one gal. My father would have been 95 now, and he adored her. We would sit and listen to "our Dusty", together, with tears streaming down our faces, because we just couldn't get over the beauty of her voice. I love that younger people are discovering her! I'm surprised at how many there are. They should be proud of their superior taste in singers.

Some singers are technically wonderful but lack an emotional connection to the material. Some singers miss notes here and there but sell the performance with their interpretation of the lyrics. Dusty had it all- flawless vocals and a great storyteller. She truly was one of a kind. Performers nowadays should study tapes like this as a master class on how to simply stand on a bare stage and deliver it.

It was totally unannounced and completely wonderful. I remember after we left the club we went to Denny's and she asked for a cuppa tea (it was IRIS tea). Someone came up and asked her name; she looked down at the teabag, then looked up at the person and said, "I'm Iris!". What a hoot! GREAT lady. GREAT talent. Gone too soon!!!
