That's my favourite model of all Caddy's. I have the 2007 2k chassis, MK3, 1.9TDI (BLS). It's right in the middle of old technology and new technology with no DPF. I did a cat, muffler and resonator delete, and EGR off. "Choo". I love mine but want the older shape with a 1.9 or 2.5 TDI swap.
I like it. The challenge, to realize it, as cheap as possible. Or if needed, because of small budget. My car looks also so ugly. Bought it last week. But it runs well, and all four tyres are well. My isolation wool, some plywood, and a green carpet for the floor - I got it for free. I got also a two flame camping gas stove for free. with gas tube, little gas bottles, etc. Some parts I bought it in the past. Danke! Yeah you definitely can do so much for free, what car have you got? I’m not sure if you have Freecycle over there but maybe an equivalent. I always go through it to see what people are getting rid of, you can get the odd pack of tiles and flooring there and other stuff
@@CaddyConversion I have some internet pages, for offering and getting goods for free, even in my area or county. But my car is not registrated, so I cannot drive it, to pick it up the free goods. I have no number plates, and no registration stickers for it.
Such a weirdly shaped little retro European delivery van look....but it has an appeal to it similar to the 2020 - 2013 Ford Transit Conect for the same reason.....CUTE 😍 😊.
Yeah I think they probably made it a van as an afterthought - the later caddy’s are much more van shaped rather than someone’s just reversed their car into a box and driven off with it jammed on 😂

Well nowhere really, I finished it just in time for the next lockdown!! Went camping in it one weekend down to the coast and that was it! Been parked up on my drive since. Is yours a mk2 caddy or newer shape?
@@CaddyConversion Well, the lockdown sucks! Wanna start building but no hardware store is open. Mine is a 9k Caddy, as I read it on Wikipedia it is derived of the Seat Ibiza mk2 and VW Polo mk3 platform. So should be basically the same model as yours.

Yeah you can’t get much materials at the moment and then they have doubled or tripled the costs, but stick some ads on facebook ask people for old wooden furniture, futons, beds, cupboards they don’t want, leftover packs of flooring and tiles etc, even old doors. You’ll be surprised what you can get for free.
Thanks mate, it is RAL6003 olive Matt from a tin. Search eBay, they do other military colours too. I used land rover camouflage grey on the Vauxhall arena you can see on my other videos too, I actually prefer that to the green.

Hi - sorry to hear that. I don’t think i can help you unfortunately, best thing is to try some piston head or vw forums and ask in there where people can share photographs with you and hopefully that will help.
Thanks mate, the only costs were the electrics , coffee sacks , adhesive, varnish and sink really, oh and also the cushions I’ve bought too but I was given a kitchen work top and a futon and a pack of flooring, so all of that stuff was free. Also pallet wood from the back of a wholesaler they give them away if you ask. Probably about £300 or so spend I think maybe a bit more
Great build man love it! Did you use the military paint primer as well before the top coat or just prepare it well and go straight on? Nice colour as well👍
Ha no I painted it blue and tried the rat look but it went a bit tits up so just chucked the army paint over it, it literally sticks to anything that stuff it’s really good, it’s got a rough land rover finish on it now, if it was a higher end van I wouldn’t dream of doing anything like what I did with this though!!
@@CaddyConversion ah okay, did it cover that well with just 1 coat of the green? I’ve got a mk2 caddy and just fed up of rust coming back on rear arches I’m tempted on giving this paint a go. Being a decorator by trade I’m quite confident with the roller😅
Yeah I did two coats , it’s apparently got rust inhibitors in the paint too, but I just thought if I ever need to I’ll just Chuck more paint on it, I would buy some of it off eBay and paint some old scrap metal first and see what you make of it, I also used the same stuff but grey camo on my Vauxhall arena which the video is on my page, that was two coats but really happy with how that came out

No it’s either 5.5 or 6, I can’t remember which I used but it’s flexible as you can see
