Oh do shut up. These videos show 0.00000001% of the human population. World champions, bodybuilders that spend their entire life in the gym, also fictional characters that are criminals and psychopaths. The majority of men that contribute to the world are doing things like stacking shelves or driving delivery trucks or taking their kids to soccer practice. These videos show nothing about masculinity except unobtainable standards that if we were to chase none of us would ever achieve and leave massive chasms in the rest of our lives.
I went down this rabbit hole spending 6 days a week in the gym. I look like a statue. The rest of my life was empty.

Last October I qualified and passed the special forces selection test. My sister had a son and the father left her. I take care of him for now and put a hold on the military. In the meantime I am training even harder. Keep pushing boys, we will get there.

Now that’s not to say you shouldn’t compare yourself to others, if done right it’s a great way to improve yourself, but if you start an unhealthy obsession built on the wrong reasons, you’re going to end up bitter and resentful. You need to build your mentality on a strong foundation for yourself grow into something you can be proud of. It was always a goal for me to get stronger, be it physically or mentally, in order to protect those I care for, since my father never really did. one thing i noticed from this montage of people calling men weak, replaceable, unimportant, etc. is that NONE of them have ANY muscle tone, almost like everything they're saying comes from a place of envy
