What do you think? Thanks
@@jeremydemarco8697 I run mine all intake, 2 stock 140's in the front and 3 noctua newfangled 120mm the sterrox ones in the top 3 holes all as intake and the stock 140 as exhaust for positive pressure due to German Shepherds and cats in the house. The same system runs about 8c cooler on the nvme disks, 4c cooler on the processor, graphics card barely spins it's fans anymore, chipset temp down 5c, fans spin slower to boot.
These new cases from corsair look amazing (subjective :P). I got a 5000d refurbished from amazon, which came with a broken panel. Something that is not often mentioned, Corsair's support is exceptional. The tech I got on the phone was unfamiliar with the specific parts of the case, and we looked together to find the correct replacement. I feel like they are trained to actually listen to the person on the line instead of just walking through a script. Kudos to corsair for their renewal of cases.
That sub door on the side has a purpose. If you want free flow air passage, you can remove the mail side panel and the front grill+mesh filter completely, and still have the cable routings neatly covered.
The attractive thing about these is being able to fit the H170i in the top IMO. I have a case so I won't buy one, but I'm still tempted. I prefer 140mm fans, so I'm kind of ecstatic someone made a 420mm AIO in the first place.
I got the 7000x because it's gigantic and shiny and full of pretty colors. I've got 12 RGB fans running in it (4 front and side, 3 top, 1 rear). I paid 35 bucks or something after the fact to buy the top airflow panel to improve flow coming off the radiator fans -- best of both function+aesthetic worlds, albeit at a hefty price. I know the current trend skews towards smaller form factor, less garish RGB... but I don't care. I love this case. :-D
I thought for a second from what you said that the power supply exhausted out of the side. That...would actually be pretty cool. If a power supply mounted sideways had a vent in the side panel, you could just have the cord and switch attach on the side near the rear for easy access! Cool!
Bigly huge cases for bigly huge custom loops. I'm disappointed there's no option for me stack a bunch of hardrives in the front half of the case, but that's arguably an even more niche use than a custom loop so it's hardly a demerit.
But it should have been an opportunity for the manufacturer of a big case to enable the customer to use it not only for show but for something productive too. Let´s be honest Big Towers are rare these days. And when they come out the usually lack in useful spots for things the typical big tower buyer needs. HDD cases (or lack of) or a second Mini MB hardpoint or a second PSU slot. Enthoo Pro 2 comes to mind which others just that, but with a disappointing build quality. Still using a HAF X because it has great airflow and metric tons of HDD cages (which dont wobble a bit).
Something that'd be nice to see for these case reviews is some sort of "standardized" way of testing the case if all the fan slots are occupied. Obviously for low/mid ranged cases the stock config is more relevant , but especially for these large cases its pretty safe to assume people will be shelling out for extra fans as well anyway. Whether that be for RGB fans or just plain ones. If you can budget for such a large case, I think its safe to assume you can budget for fans lol. Particularly for a case like this with side intake, that would certainly help the thermals of even the solid panel versions that otherwise look disappointing performance wise. I say this as a 5000X user where with all the fan slots populated with corsair QL fans (not exactly great airflow fans) and I see only about 1C difference for both GPU & CPU swapping between glass and airflow front panels or even removing it entirely. At that point, the trade off is way more acceptable than the review would imply.
Wow I’m really disappointed your comment didn’t get any attention, I would love to see what you’re suggested implemented. It’s hard to on their thermal results as they aren’t not representing how the cases will be configured in the real world, if not left stock
i had ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 before, and temps were kinda high everywhere (GPU CPU) i changed to 7000D and the temps became about 10celcius lower! this case is amazing! i love it very much, its very heavy so i took a piece of wide wood from a closet and attached 4 wheels to it, now i can move the case everywhere, its extremely comfortable now.
My Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced says Hi! This one just looks over-priced and under-production engineered, what with the number of bits you can chuck away from it and still have it working.
My Antec Nine Hundred tried so hard to avoid being taken in for recycling that it may be the cause of my stroke after cancer treatment instead of the chemo therapy weakening my immune system. :p
It's always funny watching videos that change with time. Your rant on the E-ATX form factor and that its not real is funny to me now as I just ordered this case and a ASUS Crosshair VIII Extreme which is in the EATX form factor :). This was also released not even 2 weeks from the launch of this video!
FYI the motherboard door has 3 screw holes with screw mounts on the Inside that are intended to be used if the door is unable to close, just finished building in this and love that I don't have the door popping open
I bought the Phanteks Enthoo SE around 5 years ago when I upgraded my set up. HUGE case but when refilling my watercooling fluid and installing my 3080Ti card I was so glad I want to such a great case with fantastic airflow. It made a fiddly job so much easier to do. I won't look forward to moving the PC though if I have to move home any time soon.
I really do not get why a case this big doesn't have a drive bay, some of us still use physical media and I would love a new case with a place where to put my Blu-ray drive...
Most of us have switched to external drives and would rather have the space for cooling. I still have an antec 1200 and hafx both have a 5 1/4 drive both house fans now.
@@DaleEarnhardtsSeatbelt I also have an HAFX, personally I am not a fan of external drives due to all the clutter they create on the desk, frankly with a case so humongous there should be really no reason why Corsair couldn't find the space to fit both the fans and the the disk drive or at least give the option to choose...
@@HAL_NOVEMILA yea I see where you're coming from. Unfortunately since the O/S started being more convenient to install from USB that was the end of life support for 5-1/4 drives. I rarely use my external drive last few times it was only for blueray M-discs for long term data retention. Of course I don't speak for each use case but it's hard to accept CDs are joining the graveyard with floppies and zip's.
Building in a drive bay which does not hinder the front fan support is probably not that easy. And fan as well as radiator support is the most important criteria for cases meant to be used for excessive watercooling. Nowadays it is probably more likely to sell such a large case to someone who wants to build a large watercooling loop than to someone who actually needs a drive bay.
The Meshify 2 XL and the O11 XL has good ones, tho in lesser quantity in the latter case. Tho i do agree that older cases did have more care taken into HHD cages. Just because SSD´s are a thing doesn´t mean HDD´s are suddenly not important anymore, especially for people who buy a large tower who usually do so because they need storage space.
I have the 5000D and I had to set my rear fan as an intake due to too many rads pushing air out of the case, I highly recommend that you get yourself a silverstone dust filter if you are planning to do that.
I actually bought the 7000D and enjoy the space for my 4 120sp rgb fans on the right side and two 140mm fans on the front and the one on the back. It works great with my rm1000x shift and 4080, the 4080 is a giant keyboard sized card and having all the space and ability to actually work with the shifts side panel ports is amazing. I currently have a h100i right but plan on replacing it with a h170i in the future as well as possibly adding another 140mm fan on the front.
This pisses me off so much. I bought a 5000D a month ago and I would have bought a 7000D had I known it would come out so soon. Why don't companies announce the whole lineup at once with a roadmap so that we know what to expect? I would have given them more money ffs.
GDI, I built in a 4000D which I like (even though I had to creatively mod it to make shit fit), but then Corsair releases the 5000D which I like better, and now the 7000D which I like even better still. I am so tempted to ditch this still fairly new case and rebuild in it's bigger brother (I probably will) , damn you Corsair!!
Actually, I would say they found their way compared to the past where they were only concerned about looks. The 4000D Airflow is one of the best cases on the market.
The front I/O is just 1 additional USB-C port away from being a perfect setup that I would want to throw money at. Basically what the Obsidian 1000D has, but I could live without the RGB. And the closer to a mid tower in terms of sizing and ideally pricing, the better.
Just installed my computer in this case yesterday, and when I woke up today, found that the glass side panel glue to the metal hinges weren't enought to keep it in place, and it tilted, A LOT. Still waiting for a solution from Corsair, but this happening was a huge turn off.
Mine broke too it's because the door's/including the glass panel has Metal pins to seating to plastic holders. Metal + plastic always breaks, they should've been metal holders not plastic.
I replaced my Thermaltake view 71 with the 7000d airflow. Both were open loop for the rtx3080 and I7-10700k. I saw 10-12c drop with load on both going to the 7000d, using the same fans and radiators.
*Antec One user here...* I've got an old case and the BEST feature is its COFFEE HOLDER. I'm not kidding. It's got an R9-3900x + GTX1080 and is pretty much dead silent when gaming and barely audible with the CPU at full load. My "secret" sauce? Noctua CPU cooler and Noctua fans for the case and graphics card; and spending time to optimize the fan profile. That's it. Average case, minimal noise!
just bought this case as i like big cases, i am 63 so it makes it easier to work in -5900x cpu with samsung 980 pro 2tb m.2 mve x2, 3 2tb ssd samsung 970 evos, evga 1200 power supply, corsiar dominator 3600 memory, 4 sticks, 6900xt aio gpu, using red/black mod cables. building it now.
Thanks for stating the 90mm (9cm) clearance space for installing the top radiator. I want to do the push pull config on the Arctic freezer 3 and I need 87mm space. Since my room is facing towards west so its an oven during summer time. It is more of a necessity than a luxury.
12:10 Here you can see one of the few usecases for a Gigabyte PSU. Being a placeholder for where a real PSU might go. Other usecases include cutting the sidearmor of a Corsair 7000 case with an electric arch from a failed PSU component.
I like to leave comments for y'all on points that really prick me, but overall, no one else does any REAL computer testing when compared to GN. Thank you for all you do.
I am still very happy with my 750D Airflow edition. It comes with a lot of space for thicc radiators and despite the case airflow not being completely optimal since I added dust filters to the bottom air intakes, I am still able to have a completely silent and cool running system. I love full tower cases just because they are so much easier to work with. I think its funny when you reference the weight and thickness of this case. My first build, the case was a PC Power & Cooling solid steel, 10 x 5.25" bay monster that literally weighed 75lbs - empty case! I used 4 bays to add two 80mm fan adapters, one 3.5" adapter for the floppy, and two Plextor drives. It served me well for over 10 years. I am currently still using my Corsair 800D and I have to say, I still don't see much of a reason to upgrade at this time. Still love these reviews though!

If you want free flow air passage, you can remove the mail side panel and the front grill+mesh filter completely, and still have the cable routings neatly covered.
wtf are people really bugged that much by the looks of cables?
The detail of your case reviews are phenomenal! The honesty in every detail is extremely helpful.
NZXT still hasn't grasped the concept of "air flow".
They should really start focusing on airflow
They got heat flow down, though. 😊
@Supernova Right?
That shit looks fire, literally...
The attractive thing about these is being able to fit the H170i in the top IMO. I have a case so I won't buy one, but I'm still tempted. I prefer 140mm fans, so I'm kind of ecstatic someone made a 420mm AIO in the first place.
Been waiting for these cases' review since it was announced in Corsair's livestream! Thank you!
I like this case. I like the bigger cases more, tons of fan support and i love how the power supply unit is lined up at the bottom.
I got corsair 4000D last month, great build quality. I loved it!
great review as always
I got the 7000x because it's gigantic and shiny and full of pretty colors. I've got 12 RGB fans running in it (4 front and side, 3 top, 1 rear). I paid 35 bucks or something after the fact to buy the top airflow panel to improve flow coming off the radiator fans -- best of both function+aesthetic worlds, albeit at a hefty price. I know the current trend skews towards smaller form factor, less garish RGB... but I don't care. I love this case. :-D
I bet you're smiling now knowing a 4090 might fit into that beast of yours.
@@XenoGraphica Or 6900 they might not want to cause a continent sized power outage just blowing off steam in Quake or COD.
@@gorkskoal9315 the 40 series is more efficient than the 30 series so not sure what you're on about.
I have 5000D airflow, it’s amazing glad i bought it !
I'll stick with my 750D....5 years and counting and hold up well
Why not the new 4000D
@@cj7073 Oh i would like the 4000d...the 750d i have still works for everything i need. Its the i really dont need to upgrade path
I thought for a second from what you said that the power supply exhausted out of the side. That...would actually be pretty cool. If a power supply mounted sideways had a vent in the side panel, you could just have the cord and switch attach on the side near the rear for easy access! Cool!
I think the purpose of the door is not to conceal the cables, but rather provide an easy way to check whether your cable management is flat enough
Now I'm using the 5000D Airflow best perfect size for me and good cooling
Always like it when GN reviews pop up on top while searching for case reviews, keep up the great work guys!

thanks for the review got the 7000x it pwns quality is great love the fans
Something that'd be nice to see for these case reviews is some sort of "standardized" way of testing the case if all the fan slots are occupied. Obviously for low/mid ranged cases the stock config is more relevant
, but especially for these large cases its pretty safe to assume people will be shelling out for extra fans as well anyway.
We need WHEELS for cases like this. Not a single review notices it including corsair themselves not offering them.
I swear, every year goes by just makes me even more jaded when it comes to PC cases.
Me looking at my old Antec Twelve Hundred: Don't worry, you're safe.
@@petenielsen6683 Oof on the case thing. Best of luck with the chemotherapy, hope it goes well for you.
It's always funny watching videos that change with time. Your rant on the E-ATX form factor and that its not real is funny to me now as I just ordered this case and a ASUS Crosshair VIII Extreme which is in the EATX form factor :). This was also released not even 2 weeks from the launch of this video!
"weighs as much as the e-waste that Dell's warranty comes with" (I died lol)
I flat out chuckled!
Friends and family miss you dearly.
I don't mind the weight when we are talking about a large case. It's size and appendages are nice! I give it a thumbs up!
The problem now with the 4090 is that the 5000D is too small
Really? 5000d isn’t exactly small?
FYI the motherboard door has 3 screw holes with screw mounts on the Inside that are intended to be used if the door is unable to close, just finished building in this and love that I don't have the door popping open
Wait, did they just skip over making a 6000D case?
Yes it must be a AMD case... lol
The top-secret 6000D is sold exclusively to the NSA and all computers built in this case run Windows 9 and use IPv5 for internet access.
@@Ensign_Nemo Pretty sure NASA still uses Windows XP but are rocking sweet Pentium 2's

I have the 5000d airflow and really like it. Quality is excellent. The inner door is useless though.
You dont need to remove the cable bar to use side fans if its anything like 5000 series.
I was able to do it lol
But then you just have a bunch of air being pushed into a wall and will have very much diminishing returns and worse noise/cooling ratio.
I did that and it increased my temps.
Just got a 4000D based on your review, a big improvement over my 2015 case.
8:50 Those drive caddies are as good as it seems like any manufacturer cares, unfortunately.

Still rocking a 650d. Will always be my favorite case.
There's no need for this case: just convert a closet to be the enclosure. :)
Did your case's window panel hinged from the magnetic/glue thing?
This pisses me off so much. I bought a 5000D a month ago and I would have bought a 7000D had I known it would come out so soon. Why don't companies announce the whole lineup at once with a roadmap so that we know what to expect? I would have given them more money ffs.
Because they want to move the old stuff and possibly sell more when you have buyers remorse and eBay your last 😆🤣😂
Thanks for your review man!! Best wishes to you from Iceland.

Corsair really seem to have lost their way with cases.
Actually, I would say they found their way compared to the past where they were only concerned about looks. The 4000D Airflow is one of the best cases on the market.
need a case that you get in to stay cool with the computer
The front I/O is just 1 additional USB-C port away from being a perfect setup that I would want to throw money at. Basically what the Obsidian 1000D has, but I could live without the RGB. And the closer to a mid tower in terms of sizing and ideally pricing, the better.
Just came here to watch this after seeing Jay do his mockup in this case. What timing!
Just installed my computer in this case yesterday, and when I woke up today, found that the glass side panel glue to the metal hinges weren't enought to keep it in place, and it tilted, A LOT. Still waiting for a solution from Corsair, but this happening was a huge turn off.
Been reading that on Reddit and....Could be a demotivator for someone who was looking out for it
Mine broke too it's because the door's/including the glass panel has Metal pins to seating to plastic holders.
*Antec One user here...*
I've got an old case and the BEST feature is its COFFEE HOLDER.
I have Corsair Obsidian 750D and It's probably one of the best cases I had... I literally see no point in changing it ever.
It's a behemoth, so it's not for me, but I love your team's videos. So I still have to watch. :)
Even ATX PCs are behemoths to me these days.
Damn. Thats almost as toasty as the Gigabyte PSUs
The grill reminds me of a 70’s radiator cover. It’s even the same shade of white.
I like to leave comments for y'all on points that really prick me, but overall, no one else does any REAL computer testing when compared to GN. Thank you for all you do.

You dropping the door panel, that is inside the other door, had me laughing.
I was worried that he broke the floor.
I have the 4000D Airflow and is so quiet with 6 fans with a 5800x build its was so cheap and great to work with, with great space.
I am still very happy with my 750D Airflow edition. It comes with a lot of space for thicc radiators and despite the case airflow not being completely optimal since I added dust filters to the bottom air intakes, I am still able to have a completely silent and cool running system. Vega 64, 3900X Alphacool thicc 240 + thicc 360, Phanteks C350AP, EK Vega w/ backplate, D5 pump.
750D airflow was awesome wish I'd kept it. There were some build quality issues though (either you got a sold one or a bad one lol).
Dude, I think the best thing about this case, is that if WW3 hits, I can use the vibranium back panel as a shield.
