How do you know that it is capacitor or diode that bad ? I see someone said it is diode
I'd need to see with my volt meter.
I remove the circular magnets to slap onto a/c units to hold screws while servicing them

My Samsung one all of a sudden stopped heating day-day but I never used it for more than 3min, therefore could it still be the same part as in the video?...where it all of a sudden stops heating or its something that happens gradually?
Could be. I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
If a magnetron is no good, can it (the magnetron itself) still be hot to the touch after the microwave runs for a couple of minutes?
That I'm not sure of. I've never been through that experience. Thank you so much for watching Robert!
I wasn't running it long. Never have. But same noise and problem
Thank you so much for watching!
Hi!Theres a problem with my microwave,It’s not moving and It’s heating,But it’s not making a humming sound,I’ll need help please!
You may have a bad motor that turns the food. I would need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
The motor is underneath on the bottom. Remove a couple of screws and on the bottom and you'll see it.
how do i determine the size of my magnetron
I would Google and match the model and serial number on the microwave. Whatever it says it takes, that's what I would go back with.
My microwave once I closed the door it spin without me set the cooking time but when it spin I try to set cooking time no digital indicator, any advice would help.
Yikes! Sounds like you need a new keypad circuit board. You can try to unplug it and plug it back in first, though. If that don't reset it then it's time for a new one. Thank you so much for watching Dragonfly!

Thank you
An appliance company must come by and trained techs at your property? That's a real bonus for the company having a tech fix microwaves for them.
Dcdatruth85 Not at this property but a GE tech came to a property I worked at 12 years ago to fix a microwave & I stood behind him & watched. I've been doing it the same way he did it ever since. Thank you so much for watching DC!

Good repair. Saves a lot of money for sure.
TP Services It sure does. Thank you so much for watching TP!

Couldn’t you short the cap out with a screw driver to discharge it just to be on the safe side?
You sure can. I do that on my HVAC calls. Thank you so much for watching Adam!
The timer turns on my microwave but it doesn’t turn or warm up could it be the magnetron ???
It's could be. However, the parts cost almost as much as a new microwave. So, now days we just replace the whole microwave at my property.
Thank you bro! That saved me money.
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching Joe!
Now I will try to fix my microwave oven 😁
Thank you so much for watching Saad!
I enjoy your videos. Our company uses GE products too. Lately we had issues with the thermal fuses.
Joe Caruso Right on. We have all GE appliances too. Fridge, dishwashers, microwaves and washer/dryers. Thank you so much for watching Joe!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
What if is not the magnetron or the capacitor?
Get a new microwave. The parts almost cost just as much as a new microwave. That's what we do for our residents.
@@LexVance I’ve already done that the only problem is that’s the only microwave that fits in my motorhome. The new ones are just a little bit too wide and the door doesn’t open properly
@@LexVance In any event it ended up being just a thermal fuse. The only one I didn’t test and of course I test all the micro switches as well
Thnx Lex, couple of questions, if you check and the Magnitron still looks good is it the thermal fuse ????
Hmmm, it's hard to say by not being there. It could be lots of things. The door switch can cause it not to spin & heat as well. I'd need to be there with a volt meter. Thank you so much for watching Hans!

@@LexVance how do I fix the door switch pls ?
enjoyed the video thank you for not filming taking out the screws lol

Can you check mfd on that capacitor
Yes you can. Thank you so much for watching!
Lex the microwave repair man!!
Very interesting video.
You did an excellent job skid👍
Thanks a lot.

What is it if there is burnt smell and is not heating?
Could be a bad transformer. I'd need to be there for this head scratcher and see what's going on with my volt meter. The new parts now days are almost as much as a new microwave. So, we just replace now. Thank you so much for watching!
my microwav doesnt make that buzzing sound, but it doesnt heat up food. will this help me? or should i throw out? subbed n liked for reply
The price of a magnetron isn't that much cheaper than a whole new microwave I've discovered. Just get you a new one. Thank you so much for watching Rob!
Thanks a bunch for the info but I guess it's not really cost worthy for me to fix my cheap Walmart countertop microwave. The part is almost as much as a new microwave.
Yep. We replace them now days as well. Thank you so much for watching Lasonia!
How do I know if it's the megatron?
The only way I can tell is if everything turns on fine but it just doesn't heat the food.
Thank you so much for watching Gene!
nice post, why cant u touch the capacitor skid?
Capitol Refrigeration,Heating, and Cooling You can. Just have to de-energize it like caps on an HVAC unit. But I don't touch the cap when I do magnatrons. Weirdo trolls love to mention the cap for some weird reason and act like I'm doing something dangerously wrong. 😂😂😂 Thank you so much for watching Captitol Refrigeration!

Is there any capacity of Megatron's
There is a capacitor in the microwave. It's not hooked to the magnetron though. Thank you so much for watching Sujit!
@@LexVance sir i actually mean that Megnatron has any specification? Should same. Megnatron is used for all type & size of Microwave oven
Bro had me dying when he mimicked the trolls voices about the capacitor 🤣
👍😆👍 Thank you so much for watching Zane!
Lex, does each microwave brand use their own Magnatron or is this a universal part across all brands?
You are doing an excellent job, keep on doing what you do.
tony c. Each microwave uses its own style. Some are $80 and some are $60. Depending on brand. Thank you so much for watching Tony!

how much was the microwave if its like 100 dollars or 50 i would of just saved the money by buying a new microwave. magnetrons are like 50 to 400

how do you heat food in a farberware red microwave
I don't know. I'd have to see what farberware red looked like.
When a resident moves in we will give them a microwave if it goes bad we just give them a new microwave if for some reason I need a microwave I'll take it home and fix it. another great video Lex I'm at work right now smh😔

Just subscribed. I currently have a small microwave that has quit heating. So, I will try this out. Thanks
Thank you so much for watching Jj!
@@LexVance welp, I tried 2 different meters and could not replicate the issue.
Continuity at the plug. None on the base, anywhere.
Mine is still in the microwave. Connected everywhere but the plug in. My magnetron is up top with the capacitor on the floor. So, all I did was unplug the main line going into the magnetron.
Guess I'm back to square one
Thanks
Thanks Boss from Chile
Wow, hello Chile! Thank you so much for watching Matias!
How can I reset or get out of demo mode
Try unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
Thank you for this. I agree with you mocking the people freaking out about doing this job. Yes it's semi dangerous and you have to be careful but sheesh I saw a video where he kept saying you could die if you did it and was just freaking everybody out. Because of your video I spent $35 and fixed our microwave. So for that, I thank you.
Thank you so much for watching!
My brother just replaced the magnetron still no heat
I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.

Eddy Yep! $80 will get it going again. Thank you so much for watching Eddy!
www.DirtyMaintenanceNation.com
$80??? Thats a whole ass new unit. Microwaves are pretty disposable when they break
on cooked magnetron's, there's probably some cooling "air flow" issue. more so with the later models, that share one fan for cooling and exhaust function.
possibly they had the house/kitchen hotter than hell :))

Why does my microwave heat my coffee cup and not the coffee?
Hmmm I'd need to be there for this head scratcher 🤔.
@@LexVance That's easy, because the empty cup is inside the microwave and the coffee is not. It's a riddle!
