Thank goodness for people like Thompson, or else there might have been no witnesses left. Makes me wonder exactly how many other atrocities were so thoroughly committed and covered up that we've never heard of them.
I recommend the book "kill everything that moves" by Nick Turse. Quite comprehensive and well written. Gives you an idea of how rampent war crimes were during that war.
