I didn't know much about him until I heard this piece from someone about ten years ago. I gave it a try too, but it's not an easy thing, for sure! Congratulations, lovely performance!
Drew, I don't know where to start. I've watched your videos and your cleanliness, speed, and precision is almost unparalleled! Absolutely amazing, but what really pulls me in, and holds me is your depth ,and the dynamics in which you play. Even Though I see you holding a guitar, because of the depth in which you play, it sounds just like a voice speaking to me. Thanks Drew.
I haven't heard this since hearing Lyona Boyd play it, wonderful performance with such beautiful tone. The world needs to hear more music like this. Bravo!
The base line is simply stunning.... Bells are really ringing vividly 😀Thanks maestro 🙏Your rendition of Regondi Reverie and this amazing piece are probably one of the cleanest around...
What are perfectly musical performance. I really loved the subtle rubato you placed about 2 measures before the A major key change. The work was kept so firm in rhythmic pulse until this point - it had a wondrous effect (less is more). And the control at the end for the picarti-tearse (spell check please :).) was sublime. Your recording quality is marvellous too, I can hear UA-cam crushing the overall dynamic but you can hear strong characteristics of the original quality. You must be using a fabulous noiseless mic preamp and post production tube compressor? I see you use sculpted style nails... How do you stop them from damaging your nail bed?
Campanas del alba.
Buenísima interpretación calidad de sonido y técnica, enhorabuena y Felicidades, Saludos. Very good performance, sound quality and technique, congratulations, Greetings.
Love it! I'm inspired now to pull it out again and re-learn it so I can try to sound as good as you, Drew but that's wishful thinking, I'm afraid. Wonderful control with clarity and masterful technique. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Drew Henderson: obtained his Masters of Music degree the same year I was born, and has performed Rondo by Aguado, the same piece i will play for my UIL Competition next year!🔥🔥🤘
Amazing! I wanted to learn this piece but my tremolo sounds uneven. I was wondering if you had any methods or practices to help improve tremolo picking?
Oh that is a good question. In my experience, if the timing is naturally a little bit off for someone, it’s really hard to get it even. A great guitarist once told me “I wish I could take back all the hours I spent trying to do tremolo”However, I find accenting individual fingers and starting the pattern from different points helps. I think David Russell has some good pointers on this. Good luck!
Drew, you are one of the cleanest and also most expressive guitarists out there right now sir. LOVE your videos and will continue to playlist you without ceasing. ONE question: Are you using or do you ever use artificial nails? I'm getting older and my nails are not good, especially my thumbnail, and I'm going to try out some nails I purchased recently over the Christmas break call "Tiptonics" and I'm just wondering what you think about artificial nails and any comments or suggestions you might have. AGAIN, KEEP IT UP SIR, YOU ARE LOVED!
Few people play with your precision and tonal quality. I personally rank you among the greatest of contemporary guitarists. Your playing is akin to that of John Williams. Bravo, young man. Bravo! Thank you for creating such high level audio and video content. It is so refreshing. On a side note, what material do you use for your fingernails? Are you managing them yourself, or relying on a spa? I have tried so many different materials over the years (super glue, ping pong balls, press/glue on tips, Tiptonics, etc). I've recently started using ibd Hard Gel. It works well, but has a relatively short life-cycle compared to spa nails. However, it isn't as damaging to the nail. Still, I'd like to find something I can apply myself that is as close to a spa nail as possible, without the damage of super glue, and while still maintaining a clean and natural tone. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you, again, for your amazing performances and cinematography!
