  • Thousands of people are protesting in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, against the so-called 'foreign influence' law.
The legislation will require organisations receiving funds from abroad to register as 'foreign agents'. Opponents say it could be used to crackdown on groups critical of the government and damage Georgia's ambitions of joining the European Union.
Thornike Gordadze is Georgia’s Former Deputy Foreign Minister in Charge of relations with the European Union. He says former prime minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is orchestrating the government's move.

No, this is Georgia where NGOs receiving secret foreign donations, such as from Soros and other western trouble makers are going to be exposed by a new law very much like the FARA law in the US, because they will have to declare any foreign donations over 20%. The people demonstrating are worried about being exposed as foreign agents.
