My transit engine would turn over trying to start would not fire up new starter motor fitted. starts immediately now. If starter faulty it draws more current and fuel pump does not working properly.

no combustion probably the piston or valve are bad so you may need a new recon engine

Problem is with the ignition switch. A simple replacement of the switch will fix this
