Thanks for sharing. Those look like 20 ft trees. Where exactly in Southen CA is this? My Reed is recovering from root rot and next year we'll know for sure if it has fully recovered. If not, I have 2 Reeds in 30 inch planters ready to replace it.
They were trained on those metal poles. Lateral branches were pruned as necessary. Reed is amenable to this style, more so than many other avocado varieties.
Wow, they look incredibly productive! 🥑
❤❤❤ Thank You Very Much Love to see these type of Productivity
Love seeing the high-density planting producing so much!
Excellent Greg! I have many trees 4 feet apart. It will be s lot of pruning it will be worth it.
Thanks for sharing with us!
They are producing super well for being so close, i can tell they crave alot more sunlight the way they are growing.
My kind of forest....bet you the soil is much cooler and soil stay moist much longer.
Hi Greg, I'm Edi from Indonesia and eagerly want to learn about avocado, thank you for making the contents
Hi Edi, Nice to meet you.
High density planting helps protect trees during winter cold waves

Avocado heaven
I have done the same thing at my place. All seedlings now but will be grafting in two years
Hi Greg, am in San Diego County too. Backyard grower. How old are these trees?
Dont newer groves keep trees at 8-ft with suitable spacing to allow easier picking and more lbs per acre?
Greg how will they pick the fruit from top hardly any room for ladder
Pole picker
Do you see any long term issues with planting this close? Are they intending to keep them at a certain height? Thanks for the video!
Which fertilizer should we use to enlarge the fruit?
Wow!!! Its like seeing a glimpse of heaven! Where can I purchase some of their Reeds? Thanks for sharing Greg. I hope you and your family are well.
Thanks, Sam! I'll ask him where he'll be selling them.
Reed is tropical or subtropical? And what about shelf life?

What is meant by "reed"?
In this case Reed is referring to someone’s surname.
I have a 6 footer with a dozen young fruits. I didn’t notice any young fruits in this Reed forest.
Sharp eye! You're right that there are few young fruit on these trees so there will be a much smaller crop to harvest next year.
And they take about 16 months to mature.
What part of San Diego is this at?
Reed Guacamole may need be as "creamy" as the best Hass, but it takes forever to turn black unlike Hass.
Reed's are my favorite. Where I am in Northern Cal I see them most frequently in July-Aug. And yeah, they are very slow to spoil and larger than avg.
How do they get them to grow straight up like that?
They were trained on those metal poles. Lateral branches were pruned as necessary. Reed is amenable to this style, more so than many other avocado varieties.
So much fruit...
Wow I thought I can keep my Reed tree to 8/10 feet tall.
